Solid episode, 7 / 10.

Daenarys: Danerys does stupid things #87, meh. Gets old. Good to see Jorah is back. Sorta. Dragon scene too long, it just felt like a "Look, dragonz!" moment to get fans wet. Tyrion was badass, so all be forgiven. Unsullied continue to be the most disappointing soldiers in the entire GoT universe.

Stannis: Predictable, but okay. Hope it wasn't Ramsey sneaking in because that'd be another plot hole. The entire sabotage scene should have never happened. It would have made the burning scene better and helped Stannis' character development. The entire burning scene's purpose was to make the audience shift the blame to the Boltons because they forced Stannis' hand by sabotaging the entire army (and let's not start about the unrealistic amount of damage the sabotage caused...). Without the burning scene, Stannis and his decision to burn his daughter would have been more cruel and more fitting. The painful cries of his daughter needed to be longer until her voice gave out. If you go that far, you need to fully commit. Plot didn't go anywhere (yet).

Dorne: Something important happened on Dorne! Lots of useless filler again (Sand Snakes), but an important plot point. Now sail away from that hole and never look back.

Arya: OYSTERS, CLAMS AND COCKLES! OYSTERS, CLAMS AND COCKLES! OYSTERS, CLAMS AND COCKLES! OYSTERS, CLAMS AND COCKLES! OYSTERS, CLAMS AND COCKLES! OYSTERS, CLAMS AND COCKLES! Holy cow, her voice is really annoying. Meeting was predictable. Small pedo scene to show viewers who forgot who he was that the man's an evil man. Plot didn't go anywhere.

The Wall: Sam finally returns to his main roll, letting the audience know what Jon Snow thinks. Plot didn't go anywhere.

Solid episode. Worse than the previous, better than the two dark spots. Weren't we told that a main character dies? One more episode to go I guess.

Mostly agree - although Tyrion didn't do much actually -although he managed to save the pretty girl - - nice.... nice banter all round - is Danys husband dead?

Arya - well its advanced a bit further than GRM ever did but thats not saying much.

Surprised more book fans don;t say more about the change in Daddy Tyrells role........

Tyrion only had a short moment, but it was a cool one. Him saving the day again. Did anyone else think that Tyrion looked weird sitting on the bench? It looked like false legs stuffed with something. Guess her "husband" is dead.

Didn't like the unmasking...re-masking..ugh...scene at the colisseum. Apparently, noone in the audience saw his respective neighbor putting on a terrorist mask? Weird.

I wonder why Arya didn't kill the man. She could have poisoned him and then quickly follow her person of interest. Or do it afterwards. Or before going to the brothel. Really dig Ya'quen's voice. Really gooda acting. Reminds me of a wizard in an old 90s series.

The short banter between Tyrion and Daenary's former husband was ace, though. For a short moment, it seemed that even Tyrion lost his cool, but then got back. Reminded me of a House of Cards dialogue.

Was surprised the husband died like that. I'd pegged him for one of the Harpies, if not in their upper leadership.

Ye, also somehow surprised, althohugh it's not sure that he's dead. He might survive or maybe got stabbed to pretend being attacked in order to veil his true allegiance.

Then again, this doesn't rhyme up either as he had plenty of opportunities to get rid of Daenarys.

Re Arya. The plot regarding Meryn Trant is adapted from a Winds of Winter sample chapter which GRRM released on his website. In fact he's released quite a few sample chapters, at least 4.

Re Sons of the Harpy... I would imagine that many people did see their neighbour putting on a mask. But then they were promptly indiscriminately butchered by said terrorists, so it's a moot point.

Ah right thanks - are they any better than the drek he produced for the last few books or more new and pointless characters?

Well, New characters yes. But I wouldn't say pointless. She's undercover as a member of a Mummers Show (a sort of theatrical group). So there are naturally several background characters. There is a horny perverse dwarf with either a prosthetic dildo or a freakishly long cock (im not entirely sure)which he "struggles" to keep in his pants.

And it was a different character, not Meryn Trant. Some Lannister soldier from Harrenhall.

Ya we thought of that. It just seemed weird that the entire uproar started all of a sudden with all Harpies already having their masks on. The explanation above makes most sense so I'll blame that on bad cutting

Re Immortals: I don't like how they're portrayed in the series at all. Their initial portrayal was great as they really looked like what you thought after reading the books. Soon afterwards, though, they got reduced to Skyrim City Guard levels...them suddenly getting emotions and the series heavily emphazizing that, the "general" breaking up with the "one army" concept, them losing pretty much every fight

re: arena scene: Their stance was stupid and they should know better. They battled Dothraki, mounted enemies, and taking a defensive stance with their spears / shields would be a given. Having gaps large enough for enemies to slip through would never happen. Furthermore, they are fully trained to fight with Short Swords which would be far better in that situation and pretty much every fight in a city. They appear to be just "there" to get some good fight scenes going.

The dragon looked actually good. Not too huge or clichée, just good CGI. Draco ex machina

When you're at the strip club, is your attention on the tits jiggling in front of your face, or whether or not the guy next to you has his dick in his hand?

I don't go to Strip Clubs. I'd be suspicous, however, if the guy next to me suddenly jumped up and shouted "Allahu akbar!".

False analogy.

The Harpies don't announce their presence by shouting. They quietly and discretely don masks whilst the attention of everyone in the arena is on the victor, Jorah. Its not until Jorah takes the spear and kills the assassin creeping up behind Daenerys that people begin to take notice, at which point we hear people shouting in alarm (something in Meereenese). And its not until the first assassin fails, that the several hundred other assassins attack. I imagine that they didn't want to draw attention to the guy creeping up on the Queen by shouting.

Imagine a football match, where everyone's attention is on the pitch where something crucial and exciting is happening (penalty, kick off, goal celebration. I don't know, I don't follow football). Would you notice immediately if the guy sitting next to you quietly donned a balaclava?

Personally, I would actively recognize for everyone around me reaching in his pockets, but that's not a good example for the general public. The colisseium is less crowded than a football stadium and the Harpies use golden masks which are quite obvious, all along with hard to carry around. That's why I made the shout analogy - similar levels of attention. Not an accurate one, however, I give you that. I wonder why Daenarys, or anyone actually, didn't think of having guards in the audience. Especially not Tyrion who knows how dangerous mass festivities can turn out to be. Making sure you're safe is no piece of cake.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Well, thought that was a fething awesome episode!

They've banged it out the park with this one and the last.

Scene with Stannis' daughter was one of the most painful to watch in the show so far, I'm glad they didn't finish on that note. Yes we know he wanted power, but he has now crossed a line in the sand and shown really he is no better than the Boltons.

And loved the final scene - it looked like Dani's husband was most certainly dead, unless they faked him being stabbed in the chest several times. Then just when you thought it was over for her, "squeeeeee!" (that's a dragon noise), probably the most satisfying scene in the series since the episode where you realised she could understand that slave master the whole time (when she was selling the dragons) and then the dragon turned him into a kebab. I will say the Harpies showed a lot more bravery than I would have once the dragon turned up and started making flames attacks!

Looking forward to the final episode, also really sad we will now have to wait ages for the next one

yes - it was - although it seemed mainly so GRM could troll the readers and not have Tyrion and Dany meet - something the Show got right. Hopefully she just goes for ride and then comes back to where her friends and Dragons are.
