Yes there is. Its not very good though.

It's not even "hardcore" in the slightest sense. There's no food or water requirement, just slower healing + bullet spongy enemies

Is there a decent weight system though? Like bullets having weight?
I never liked how I can carry heavy armor + 15 different guns, some of which heavy weapons + food and drugs + ammo + junk.

Nope, but chems do have weight now. Weights also done a bit better too (i.e. no more multiples of 0.5 only, a lot of junk items are 0.1 to 0.2)

I expect there to be an overhaul of "survival" mode once the real mod tools come out.

In NV there is a food/water bar and ammo carrying weight, but in FO4 there is not (my bad)

I'm guessing that will be modded in rather fast.

Just got myself a complete set of T60 power armour in interesting circumstances.

I was doing a settler quest in Hyde park and there was lots of gun fire coming from the other side of the building at around the same time I started my own attack on the raider camp. I didn't think all that much of it as I worked my way into and through the building. There was a gigantic explosion but they are pretty common (usually its exploding cars) so I didn't think much of it. I made it to the roof and looked across the new empty battle field contain a load of dead super mutants, 2 BOS teams (almost wiped out) and the smoking remains of a Vertibird I can only assume that the Mutants managed to shoot down. The only survivor was a single BOS paladin on less than 5% health.

The other Paladin was nice enough to let me loot his armour from his corpse.

also, I was going to be a shooty character, till I killed swan early on... now its been nothing but melee, and its WORKING despite my char having 3 str and 3 end with the rest in CHR INT and LK

I tend to not use power armour either, too slow, sneaking around and meleeing people works really nicely, the new animations they added for melle are great too! just wish there were more of them

Ya, I'm in the same boat, I'm barely using Power Armor at all. I got my stealthy combat armour and some Charisma boosting gear. I assume the main quest will require it at some point, but I'm mainly helping settlements and getting them into the Minutemen fold, then building the Artillery piece in as many places as I can.

I'm also avoiding any of the weapons that have the crazy effects like freezing and such. They just seem goofy and game breaking to me. To each their own.

I guess I'm gonna focus on building up my settlement in Sanctuary since that's the main one. Do I need to build defense towers and assign people, or can I just make a couple turrets and that's good enough? Do I have to build walls/fences all around the town too? I kinda don't wanna, but I don't wanna get raided either

So I was roaming around (seriously, I still haven't been able to reach Diamong City yet... too many places to explore ) when I killed a lone super mutant. He had "Super Mutant Orders" on him.

I was so excited, could this be a shout-out to Fallout 1's Master?! A new master mind behind the FEV and new Super Mutant creation?! WHAT DOES IT SAY?!

I have found my favourite quest line of the game, complete with a snazzy outfit and..

I'm using Kellogs pistol, a .44 revolver. 84 DAM, and refills AP on critical hits. It's a lot of fun to use, it kills most humanoids in one shot.

I'm using... rather a lot, really. Got a suppressed 10mm for James Bond-ing, an Instigator's Pipe Revolver for going loud, a souped-up combat shotgun for going louder, a pimped-out hunting rifle sniper for going long, and a half-modded scoped combat rifle for going loudish at a respectable distance.

A lot of stuff dies to the Revolver--Instigator = double damage on full health targets, so add that to sneak attacks and VATS criticals on some poor feth's head--but a fair amount needs the sniper at range, or the shotgun up close.

i got the singer to bed with me on account of high charisma + lady killer.

Not so odd. Power Armour can be upgraded with a stealth boy which activates when you sneak.

I plan to play through that questline tonight. I got the outfit when I randomly came across the Hubris Comics building, and went in thinking: comic book store must have at least one of those statboost comics, right? And, I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, it does help that I am a fan of old-time radio shows like The Shadow, Green Hornet, Johnny Dollar, The Saint, Boston Blackie, Richard Diamond, Phillip Marlowe, Dragnet, etc., etc. Yes, I have the Radio Classics channel on SiriusXM favorited.

Is karma still in Fallout 4? I didn't see and karma drop after, erm, cannibalizing a corpse. And that's something that would drop your karma in previous games. So, am I just missing it saying it, or is karma gone, or did they decide that cannibalism isn't bad for karma?

No karma system.

There is a karma system of sorts. It's based on your companions. Your companions will react to your actions. When a companion likes you enough, you gain their perk. But you have to do stuff that companion likes to earn it.

Well yes, there's a companion relationship system, but the karma system present in previous titles is gone.
