Looking for suggestions on some Black Library stuff that has a heavy focus on orks. Are the Stormclaw books novels or moreso campaign books? I read 15 Hours, and really enjoyed it. Made me very apprehensive about how evil orks are. I want more! Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Siege of Castellax was all about an ork horde fighting a chaos planet (from chaos' pov). I enjoyed the book, but I feel like the author didn't entirely understand orks, or at least, what I like to think of the orks as in my own apprehension of the fluff.

The Soul Drinker's Chapter War by Ben Counter has a very interesting portrayal of orks. You don't really need to know about the Soul Drinkers; they're basically the A-Team and they explain themselves almost immediately.
What's interesting about the orks is that they don't have any dialogue. They aren't played for humour. They walk a fine line between feral beats and soldiers. In particular, the Warboss has tremendous contempt for lesser orks because they lack vision. He sees the planet's human colonies as an affront to ork heritage, and he has grand schemes to retake the planet, yet his underlings squabble like children.
The focus of the book isn't the orks, but it's a fine read all the same.

There is no ork POV novels. One terribad short story, and that's it. Several Ciaphas Cain novels about Ork invasions, though. Many quite good.

Yea, Deff Skwadron, as mentioned above.

I'd love to read an Octarius war novel written as an action-comedy from the viewpoint of the orks.

Also, it may be somebody's Deathwatch campaign (except with Ork player characters and not space marines) and not FFG, Relic, GW, BL, or FW fluff; but Deffwotch is hilarious and you should totally read it. A band of Orks managed to fool the Imperium into thinking they're part of the Deathwatch; absolute beautiful hilarity ensues and the whole thing is a laugh a minute. It is seriously the best thing /tg/ has ever produced.

I hope you're not talking about Engine of Mork or the follow-up, Evil Sun Rising, the latter of which is on the shorter side of a novel. Both were great and really showed a lot of diversity among ork culture, with surprisingly likable protagonists.

The novel 'Imperial Glory' has some really excellent ork sections in it, even though they are not the protagonists. Definitely worth a read and a very good book, one of my favourites.

I actually read Siege of Castellax.
I think the portrayal of Orks was really spot on. Key moments that I enjoyed were when one of the Iron Warriors ate a piece of ork to figure out how to fly one of their aircraft, to find out that its break was removed by its pilot so, and I quote, "It would not appear timid in front of its fellows". Aside from that, we have an example of ork kommandos But the best moments of the book were from the larger ork strategies, like My personal favorite was when There were also plenty of other good orky moments, even though the Iron Warriors were the center of the story and towards the end it felt like a clear showcase of Chaos' greatest flaw, which is perhaps the only thing about this book I refuse to spoil.

you should be able to get it on ebooks, though. I think it would be cheaper too.

What's wrong with the Orks in Castellax? They're brutally kunnin', and kunninly brutal. They just have little to none of the comedic relief of Orks sometimes have, but they don't because it would break the atmosphere.

I do recommend it, as well as its prequel Engine of Mork, if you have any interest in an Ork pov story, and a good one at that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the book. Looking back, it wasn't as bad as I made it out to be. There was a case where the orks were made out to be kinda sadistic, and wanting to torture a slave he found, which I didn't really associate with orks. I would say that the author made the orks as a whole come off well, but on an individual level is where I don't like it as much.

Some of the White Dwarf magazines from the 90s had some great Ork fluff bitz in it, and of course all the Gorkamorka stuff is just brilliant.
