Wow that is some serious output for last year YouWaShock! As others have said, your Velma turned out great and the details on those stockings is impressive! I can only imagine what this year will bring with the combined might of your painting output and the new addition of a 3D printer. I hope you've got plenty of empty shelves
Well, off to a slow start for 2024, but trying to get something going.
Some more Man O' War stuff. Removing the supports from the smaller Dark Elf models has been...problematic? I have had to reassemble the two I cleaned afterward. Currently exploring alternatives before printing more. Meanwhile, accumulating files at an alarming rate. At least they don't take up shelf space.
Painting the Cthulhu Benchy. Fun and easy.
And got started on Ninja Girl. Better get the lead out. Not much January left.
Always more to do. Need to figure out what may fit potential topics for next month. And stop procrastinating. Thanks for looking!
Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue

Cthulhu Benchy model is really cool, and you painted it pretty nice too.

Grotsnik Corp. Sorry, No Refunds.
I'm sure you can get her finished in time-- the comp wouldn't be the same without one of your outstanding entries!
That's incredibly kind of you. Much appreciated.
Thanks to gobert and ZergSmasher, as well. Feels like I have been MIA for January. Time flies. Benchthulu is coming along. And I did finish KD Ninja. Knuckled down and while I wouldn't refer to her as outstanding, she's done. Preview while the base paint dries.
And in the useless junk category, I printed a Boba Fett dice tower.
Plenty more on the go. Need to pick from the list of potential projects for "Out With The Old, In With The New." Thanks for looking!
Whoa, that's an interesting take on the model. The visible brushstrokes and minimal blending are an effective, painterly touch. You can expect a vote from me!

Thanks, JoshInJapan! She's far from perfect, but for the most part I accomplished all I had in mind for her.
I have decided on my entry for the February challenge, Out With The Old, In With The New. Going with the "in with the new" angle, I will be painting the latest model run off the 3D printer, Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series. Big fan of the series, and I really like the design of this model.
Here's hoping I have not bitten off more than I can chew for the shorter month. Thanks for looking!
Great work on "KDBFNV".
The color choices are interesting and work really well. I've been thinking something similar for the KDM "Erza of Dedheim". Inspiring!
Glad that printer's getting a workout. Love the artistic choices and palette on KDBFNBVKDB - and well done to your daughter for the work on the xeno boat. Proud dad moment there.
Printer is getting a workout, but dialed in might be a little premature. It just pooped on a print that was going beautifully. Just knocked it right off the bed after going strong for hours. Also right after printing a similar part. Not identical, but close. Frustrations abound. However, as I understand it, and my own experience holds to this, the process isn't perfect. Such is life as a 3D print hobbyist.
Appreciate the support for the ninja. She isn't doing as well as I had hoped, but you can't win them all.
Finished up Benchthulu, and another little slime to stay loose. Primed Raziel after some filling and sanding. Pics soon. Thanks for looking!
And the slime. This guy will make a reappearance soon as the pet for a model that is close to completion.
Need to grab a can of spray to basecoat Raziel. Should happen this weekend. Always plenty on the go. Need to decide if I want to enter the Kingdom Death Gambler's Chest painting comp. Thanks for looking!

I must have missed the Cthulhu benchy when you first introduced it, so I'm not entirely sure what it is. That said, it look great, especially the three-pupil eyes.

Benchy is a common calibration object for 3D printers. It is normally a little tugboat, not too simple, not too complex, but it will show right away of you have issues with your setup. I found this Cthulhu version while searching for Man O' War files.

Basecoated Raziel. Ultramarine spray from Army Painter. Also started on the blade. Turns out I forgot how to paint! Feels like a mess right now. Need to try something different, because Plan A has gone to poop.
In other news, my pledge for Mythic Battles Pantheon and Ragnarok showed up. Feels like it has been a wait. These boxes are bigger than I remember from when a friend pledged the first time around. I just picked up minis I thought were cool, prompted mainly by the Parente box. Girls, you know? He's good at 'em.
Now, years later, I wonder what I am going to do with this stuff. Must avoid Kickstarter.
Had two new Limbo Division models show up unannounced, too. No pics, but they have worse mold lines than usual and there are missing bits for the first time. Looks like this release has issues. Bummer, because they are a quality line normally.
Got the printer running again. Sort of. Still not 100%. It spat out one great print before duffing another one 7 hours in. Doing OK as I type. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for looking!

Nice haul with the pledge stuff! I've been waiting quite a while for the Primal: The Awakening kickstarter to be fulfilled now, and it looks like it could be next month, so then I'll have the same problem of figuring out what I'm going to do with it. Looking forward to Raziel; never played the Legacy of Kain games myself, but I watched my cousins play it and it seemed interesting.

OMG!!! Cant wait to see this painted.
Soul Reaver is so close to my childhood!

Such an awesome intro. And a great soundtrack. Glad to see another fan!
A little progress. Needs some blending on the blue, and everything else is just basecoated. However, I don't feel like I am painting with my feet anymore. Wrapped up another mini that just needs base and varnish.
Hope to keep at it through the weekend. Thanks for looking!

Automatically Appended Next Post: Wrapped up Eilluvasheth, Succubus Queen from Reaper. A BONES model, and the slushy white stuff, at that. But, I am good with how she turned out. A model like this, with all the fiddly details and chains, would have been better in metal, I'm sure, or just bigger. Still, seeing as how it feels like years since I started her (the rocks on her base are all made from leftover putty mixed for different projects) I am glad to see her done. Extra pic with her pet slime, Screamy. They sat together unfinished on the desk for so long, I feel they go together. Would have sold the idea better if they were based even remotely similarly...
Onward we go. Thanks for looking!

Nice work on the Bones model, especially given the material. I found Bones V1 a challenge to work with, to say the least.
I'm watching your work on Soul Reaver with interest. Do you find it difficult to assemble models after painting them in parts? I don't do it often, but when I do I always seem to end up with patches that don't match.

I was never one for painting unassembled models in my youth, or middle age, really, but in recent years I have discovered the value of it. Thankfully, luckily, fortunately, it hasn't given me any real trouble, aside from stressing about messing it up gluing it together. I usually don't finish the minis before final assembly, though. There's usually some bit of final painting that has to happen once it is all together. Maybe that is why it has been working?
