Here in the US, I've had the best results from Simple Green. Though I don't know how available that is in Canadia.

What's the best solution for stripping paint?
Acetone-free nail polish remover. No need to soak, just dip the model in it or spray a bit and you can just brush the paint of immediately with an old toothbrush. Best thing I've tried.

LA's totally awesome if you can find it at your local dollar store. It gets the paint off great and it doesn't hurt your models at all.

Fret not if you are not winning many games with your stormcast eternals. They are actually harder to play as you will most often be outnumbered by your opponent at least 2:1 (the weakest stormcast model is a two wound model). The fact that the average save in AOS is a 4 means that shooting is very powerful.
This is where tactics and strategy come into play. Using lightning strike with formations can ensure your retributors see ombat on the first turn. Use Castellans to buff armor saves. Use cover to max your saves. Once mastered, a stormcast army can be very hard to beat.

Oh, totally.
The main issue with Stormcasts is speed for me so far; but a bit of reading up on the newer characters and the formations and I'm feeling far more chipper about things.
Just have to figure out how to take out his allied Gryph Hound first....

In the US, and I assume Canada as well, non-acetone is still going to eat your models. Learned this the hard was twice over the years. Just a heads up. I use LA's totally awesome and find that it does a very good job 9 out of 10 times.

Just finished an Azyr comp 30 point game with my new Stormcast against Undead. Was a blast! I really need a few more characters, I only have the starter box guys right now. Going to buy at least a Castellant and a Heraldor I think. We played an objective scenario from Clash of Kings, which was great. The highlights for me was smashing his Terrorgheist first turn (he got careless and it ate 10 Judicator arrows follow by a Dracoth Celestant charge), and finally breaking his pesky 30-man unit of skeletons. It slaughtered a unit of Liberators earlier in the game with 81 attacks (would've been 108 if the Libs hadn't killed one of them), but I managed to whittle them down enough with Judicators that my Dracoth Celestant could charge in and grind their bones to dust. Then Battleshock took the rest. Undead are really scary though and I was lucky my opponent only had two characters (a Necromancer and a Vampire Lord). Knights are super annoying because they just won't die... every turn they go back to full strength. You basically have to kill them all on the charge or you're stuck there until you decide to run. I'm still not sure how to house rule summoning, we used Azyr comp summoning and it seemed to work alright, but I don't know. He managed to snatch the victory in the end due to being a better objective grabber than me with so many fast units plus summoning, but it was a close and fun game.

Just left my local shop and the owner has invested in all of the new Khorne terrain sets for the store gaming tables. They look fantastic and have some pretty cool abilities.
Starting to build my own table at home and am excited to see what all they come out with for Stormcast terrain as well.
Have any of you guys bought the new AoS terrain sets?

I have the Ophidian Archway and was so impressed by it I'm getting the Numinous Occulum tomorrow :-) really wanted to get the realmgates too but I feel that they have such a limited use beyond a few special scenarios... They look cool but if you don't use their rules (for example when playing other games) there's not much point in using them. They don't block line of sight, you can't really put minis in them and they look sort of out of place. I think the Archway and Occulum are the most generally useful pieces so I'll be sticking to those for now.

So, I won't say I'm an optimist. But the main person I know play against has gotten way into AoS. She likes Brets, and has the battalion box. I've been thinking a small beastman army might be the way to go to get something cheap and simple and also fitting for our game.
So I guess I'm just wondering, how are beastmen, in the current game? It seems to me that they can zip across the battlefield pretty quickly, with the right synergies.

Beastmen are pretty powerful and have some nasty characters. I think you will have fun if you use them. As they are part of "chaos", you can always throw in deamons or other chaos units to fill specific needs once you know what the local meta uses.
Overall chaos is one of the most versatile armies. They only really lack in one area: ranged support.

Just read this article and it was fascinating: http://www.iii.co.uk/news-opinion/richard-beddard/games-workshop-agm%3A-relentless-profit-machine
At the end of the day though, the only line that really matters for this thread was:
The company cannot divulge sales figures, its in a closed period and Age of Sigmar is only in its third month, but in terms of other metrics, downloads and Sigmar themed magazine sales, management seems more than satisfied. Anyway, it’s at pains to point out, Warhammer Age of Sigmar is a long-term investment.

Beastmen are fast, really fast! They're a very Alpha strike army I think, they can hit like a freight train, but can't take a punch very well. Their characters are pretty good, and if you fancy using some summoning shenanigans take a Great Bray Shaman and summon something like the Glottkin... As their special rule states that you may summon a MONSTER with no other restrictions... You may not be liked for it very much but still!

I can't imagine I'd ever use anything like glottkin; I'd have to buy the thing in the first place. Can't really use that ability at all, unless I use a proxy for a monster of some kind.

I'm actually going to try to keep it pure beastmen, at least for right now. At least beastmen have a ranged option, and ungor raiders actually seem pretty nice.

Loving this post and loving AoS. I'm optimistic about the game and think it's a great place from which GW's fantasy can grow and develop. For the past 2 years or so I'd moved over to historical gaming but AoS brought me back into the fold. I still struggle with the lack of a points system though. I know it's a touchy subject but I'd like to see this option included in the future. I'm slowly reading the rules of 40k so forgive me if I've got this wrong but unbound says models have a cost but agree on a points limit and field what you want. Couldn't they have just done this with AoS? Anywho, i'm optimistic they will!

Kinda. Unbound has drawbacks compared to using force orgs/formations, the most common one being is that most units in an unbound force can't contest objectives - so if you go unbound, you need to figure out a force that can obliterate your opponent because that is your only option for winning.
If you're struggling with the lack of points, I'd seriously recommend just playing scenarios for a while.
They focus your game plan, and it becomes far less a case of how much someone has, but whether they have the right tools for the job.
I've lost games where I realised I could have won with half the stuff but a more targeted selection.

I do sort of agree with you. I play Unbound in 40K and it has been such a refreshing change to just play the army that I want to field. I like that AoS also lets you field what you want but I miss the points costs. Everyone, myself included, is out there trying to find a way to balance the games but it wouldn't have been an issue if GW just stuck to a points system. I also hope that at some point GW will give us an official balance mechanic. Maybe if AoS does as well as we all hope it will they will decide its worth doing.

There's nothing wrong with Unbound 40k at all. Lots of times, we play unbound, at least in the sense that what we want to field won't fit a formation or chart. It's particularly true of siege scenarios, because what you imagine defending a fortification is just not the same kind of force that you would to meet another army head on in a forest or a city.
It comes back to what makes AoS a good experience or not -- if you're playing with people who use unbound (or AoS army building) in a way to bend/break the rules, it doesn't turn out so well. If you're playing with people who field units that don't fit some chart, because there's a good reason to other than "it helps me win", that's just a whole other ball of wax.

I have a small VC force, but I'm considering doing a hard turn into Bloodbound just because of how nice the models look.
Part of me is hoping for rumors of new models/battletomes for all the armies, that way I can either stick with VC or switch over to Seraphon, depending on which comes out first.
I'm torn between that and buying into Admech in 40k.
I won't be doing anything until I get the hell out of Africa and back to the US though.

Reading the Ghal Maraz book at the moment, and getting really into the idea of creating a Nurgle/Skaven Pestilens force. Really love how they're depicted in the book. Maggot lords, Glottkin, all the Nurgle Demons, Plague Monks, a Vermin Lord... So cool. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, new goodies, yay!

Just got back into GW after ten years because of AoS. Have 15 Stormcasts painted and just opened the box set. Will be looking for games in Los Angeles soon. Using sanguinary guard bare heads for every fifth Eternal gives them a little more personality.

They look quite nice! I always dreaded those style of models; the kind attached to the base with long thin bits. I haven't got the skills to not break them.
Disappointed about them only being human. So much potential to do something different with the faction, ignored.
