I feel pretty much the same as the rest of you guys about the new prices. I already thought it was a bit pricey but its way too much now. I may buy one or two more models to round out my BMG gangs but I certainly wont be starting anything new from Knights.

Doubt I'll get them with the new prices, but these models are pretty great

Well the licensed product has licensed product prices. No surprises there. That said, yes the prices are too high, but at least the number of models required is low. I guess also a big part of Knight customers are collectors who don't care about the game.

I do like the alternate head options.

Keen to see how the prices shake out when they hit the wild.

We haven't seen the rules for Armani Lex's warsuited buddies yet for DCU.

As exciting as it is to shout "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD," between Lex and Darkseid's release last month, plus the price rise it could very well be people end up being cautious and just saying, "I'll buy one..." (Or none)

The prices are fairly high, but generally the direction we're seeing single model purchases go; particularly for these games that field less than a half dozen models. A lot of the prices would be more competitive if they did more bundle deals in general though.

Yeah with all these 'big bads' coming out I wonder if or when we will see Braniac and his goons..........

Also have to wonder if Grodds been kept back because they want a re-sculpt of him in the Injustice 2 skin...

It'd make more sense for them to just make an alternate Grodd for that.

If I were to hazard a guess, considering there's been a few models sighted over time, they're probably having game balance problems with them.

It's also suggested that KM ate having trouble with Producing Grodd and crew. The fact that he has been photoed and printed would suggest that the model and rules have been approved.

First of a number of planned free Digital expansions, with super team ups and specific scenarios. Looks to me to be a pretty smart move - free stuff is always going to be good. And Legends, so not usable in tournament play.

That is seriously cool! Looks like a lot of thought has gone into making it really thematic and actually pretty balanced (especially the shared health bar and Kryptonite objectives)... I might have to pick up a Superman to run through a few games using this.

I didn't expect them to make Zod and friends a full 50 point team in a box, that's really unexpected of them. - It might make the price increase more palatable for people too. "Yes, buy this one box and you can turn up to a tournament."

Conversely, I'm really surprised how cheap Lex and minions are. Essentially you take Doomsday, armoured Lex and the 4 minions and you're at 50 points. - And a whole heap of that is the insanity that is Doomsday.

Lex is cheap at the BMG level, too.

Lex set, Lex big and Talia comes out to 350. Looks like KM is really trying to make "complete game sets" as easily as possible.

New FAQ up. Highlights include a couple of the Banes gaining Invulnerability while under the effects of Titan. Borj being nerfed such that he's only allowed a single piece of equipment now. Halt replaced with Stop, stronger effects, but limited to only 20cm range and requires active use.

New Stop is excellent, and makes Killer Frost really scary (everyone forgets she has it...) plus in a SS list pair her with Black Manta... mwahahahahahha!

DC Miniature Games tournament packs are about to be available. This will be the first set of these packs out in the world. (Remember, Marvel Universe Game is not, nor was it ever, a product of Knight models and never had a tournament pack.)

Exclusive model and cards (just like in BMG) to be released for these packs.

My knee jerk reaction is to also complain about prices, but then I just remembered I bought a single KD 40mm miniature with no game use for about $40 after shipping. Also one box in BMG and you're ready to play. It's not even expensive compared to 40K plastic squads, which you need boatloads of.

I like the look of Zod and friends...

Zod and friends is a great set for the price conscious player, it's a tournament ready force in a single pack.

Similarly, Lex Corp is rather good for a player that cares about 'efficiency' (although it's not particularly cheap). - The Lexcorp set and the heavy trooper can be used in both the Batman and DC Universe game.

You could potentially go for:
Lexcorp set
Lexcorp Heavy Trooper
Ravager

And have a Batman gang, then you'd need maybe 1 more model at 15 points to have a DC Universe gang too (admittedly, there isn't really any individual models at that points level out... Yet.)

It's really quite a pity, with my local store mostly no longer ordering Knight Model minis due to the price rises, it's kinda a missed opportunity that the games are now an easier buy-in.

^ That's a nice Lex Corp list.
I'm even less convinced about promo minis than cards, though the cards (excepting Borj) were never must-haves.

I know they never made a tournament ruleset for it, but what do you mean the Marvel game was never a Knight product?

A huge weakness of the Marvel game was that points didn't work out at all. I'm glad to see they're doing better with DC.

I'd have probably bought into Marvel had my forays into list building with it not regularly resulted in things like the 51 point X-Men list or the 47 points of Guardians available. Had the point scale been designed to drive the movie 6 Avengers to 50 points instead of an incredibly awkward 53 I think the game would have been an easier sell.

The DC version benefited greatly from being able to pull from the established BMMG to pad its roster and let you fill more of those odd points.

A bit of hyperbolie. I mean to say that Knight Models are officially out of the Marvel line, and anything to do with it. So, Marvel models will not be allowed in DCU games/tournies, there's no support for either the game or the models. It's a sore subject for a lot of us.

I don't think success or failure had much to do with why they dropped the line. I'm just saying that the point layouts were a big reason I was waiting to see how the game evolved rather than buying in right away. I looked into it several times and the big drawback was just that nothing ever fit together comfortably, always coming in at awkward point values that were hard to match against. The DC line definitely benefited from having Batman stuff to draw from, but even just the 6 classic JL characters plus say... Green Arrow have more combinations that fit together nicely than I was able to do with the Marvel factions.

Hey folks, fresh face on this thread. Getting into the DC game currently and was curious if there were any blogs for it - gaming and/or painting? Or is it too niche still?

I really would love to watch some tutorials, because the painting style on these has me worried.

Also, holy crap that Doomsday is rad. Any word on if they will be expanding into the other Lantern Corps?

KM seem to be pretty schtum about upcoming models more than a month or three away.

I don't think there's any immediate hints about upcoming DC Universe models. - There's still a bunch of Batman models that haven't been released yet though. - EG Gorilla Grodd and friends, Hawk & Dove, Raven.

I imagine a few of them may end up being multiverse too, particularly Raven.

Here's todays preview though, a new sidekick for the Court of Owls.

My cynical side says unlikely unless they show up in a movie or video game. Knight doesn't seem to do much for current comic book characters.

Of the new Corps leaders, I'd not be surprised to see Atrocitus show up. He seems to be the one that gets the most attention; being in the animated series and even recently showing up in Injustice 2. Carol seems the next most likely to show up, perhaps as a neutral (though its been a long time since she's been at all villainous). I doubt we'll see Saint Walker any time soon and Indigo-1 seems to have fallen out of the universe altogether. Larfleeze would be super exciting and maybe could happen with the tendency to see villains with associated 3 man minion sets. I doubt we'll see extended Corps rosters for a long long time, though. Bleez and Arkillo seem to be the only two that have really established themselves, as Dex seems to have basically become a merged part of Atrocitus's character at this point.
