Ouch, they're overshooting the promised August 2016 date by quite a bit then. Here's hoping though that wave 1 shipping really means wave 1 shipping, even if I am a filthy foreigner.
Ugh. I knew their recent updates of "no set delivery date yet" were setting us backers up for disappointment. I expected better from Reaper after several previous successes.
@ Orlando ...

Least they can do is let me add more stuff to the inevitable pile that will take years for me to work my through. I forgot to order that Ogre command set!
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
Here's part of the update, including the option for a refund, would you be so inclined:
We made a mistake.
We had a very intense conversation with our partners in China this week, and discovered a communication error and gross misunderstanding on our part about the updates they were providing us.
In a previous Update, we had announced that production was 100% complete and all they had to do now was put the models into little baggies and boxes. We also said that collating the Core Sets in this manner was the last step. We pressed for more information about the models that we believed to be done but were still not being assigned a Container, and learned that our understanding of the status was incorrect.
Where we are now is that production on the models that go into the Core Sets is complete, and they are still collating and assembling those sets from the completed models. They are not finished with all of the other rewards, which is why these rewards are not assigned to a Container.
After a great deal of back and forth over e-mail, we were able to get them to give us a status update that included what they estimated as a timeline for completion of everything. They were not able to give a precise date, but they anticipated being finished, and having all product on the water "shortly before American New Year".
We're very sorry. We have been announcing no significant delays, and promising things to begin any day now, and we were wrong. This failure rests entirely on our shoulders, and we will do whatever we can to improve our communication with China for the future, to avoid compounding this error.
Our assessment of the information given was based on flawed assumptions about the details we were provided with. For example, when we were sent the invoice for all non-core-set models, we assumed that they were being prepped for shipping. This had been standard practice in our previous orders from them, and we just made an assumption. The invoices we were sent, however, indicated they were starting work on those parts, not finishing them, apparently due to some policy changes because some customers weren't ready to pay the bills when the invoices arrived after the work was done, resulting in lost time and money. We should have been more diligent with our communication.
There is nothing we can do to speed this process up, and we have no explanations for why work on some product had not been started until now.
We will be happy to work with those of you who feel this unacceptable to let you out of the project with your pledges back, minus kickstarter's fees. We would like to ask that you bear with us, however, as we think the product from this project is some of the best we have ever made, and you will be satisfied with the results.
If you wish to contact us directly, you can use the Kickstarter messaging feature or send an e-mail to help@reapermini.com.
If you are wanting a refund or have issues with your rewards, please be sure to include your login-email, any relevant order numbers, and mention which project you're referencing (Bones 3).
If you have any other questions we would be happy to discuss them.
Eyup, at least they are upfront about it and not shifting the blame, seeking refuge in complete radio silence or crawling up their own asses like some companies out there.
I've never taken issue with a company delivering later than they originally expected. Better to deliver late than never get it at all.

Well done Reaper, while I find your expectation in regards to the invoice strange ( none of the manufacturers I do business with start production until the invoice is paid), the way you've been upfront about it and didn't try to shift the blame on someone else is quite admirable.

Yea, I am pretty ok with this. Mostly sad I am not getting the HD Paints sooner, but ahh well. It is entirely possible I have too many things as it is.
Well... too many to get built and paint to worry about this cutting into my production process.
It's disappointing for sure, especially given how experienced they are. But they're handling it incredibly well, with timely, detailed updates and what seem like heartfelt apologies. I will likely still be backing Bones IV.
They really are being very transparent, and seem as eager to ship to us as we are to get it. I like that a lot, and, finances willing, will be in for Bones IV.

The sad irony that while the majority of people/organizations try desperately to appear like they didn't make a mistake when admitting that you have garners far more respect. Good on Reaper for choosing the latter
Reaper Bones Kickstarters are getting to be like my Amazon Prime membership. I fork over a $100 a year automatically and I'm usually pretty happy with the value of what I get.
ReaperBryan wrote:We have spent three years setting up the business entity which is handling our UK/EU fulfillment, and similar entities for AU fulfillment.
The warehouse is currently being prepared - personnel, fixtures, and paperwork. We have yet to fulfill a single order from that facility yet, as we continue to work through the details.
We intend to begin fulfillment of our reapermini.com web-store orders which originate in the UK from that facility over the next several months (December? January? February? Right now there's factors i cannot go into that have to be resolved). These orders will be the testing, streamlining, and final factoring of that process.
Then we will fulfill CAV and Secret Weapon Dungeons from the plural joint facilities as close to simultaneously as the continental difference will allow. Actual Simultinaeity (is that a word? I don't think it is, but I'm sticking with it) is likely to be impossible. Nevertheless, we will further refine our understanding of how the process works after successfully fulfilling our EU/UK based internet orders and 2 kickstarters.
By the time we launch Bones IV in spring 2017, we should have several months of Internet Fulfillment under our belt, and will have a better grasp of how this will work, which should help to make that fulfillment process faster and smoother (faster at the very least because 25% of our orders are non-US, so our personnel and facility will be shipping only 75% of the product and not 100% as in the past - this alone would have cut bones 2 fulfillment* down to only 11 days)
I strongly suspect, but cannot promise, that Bones IV will be EU/UK, CA, and AU/NZ friendly with fulfillment centers in 4 countries. If this changes, or is not feasible, we will very likely have an explanation as to why.
* I use fulfillment here to mean the process of shipping rewards. This 4-facility approach is unlikely to have any impact on the manufacturing time between project close and shipping start. That's a metric we need to learn how to estimate with much greater accuracy.
