Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

I have a Cypher and a few fallen that Are on my long list of things to paint... Would Cypher and his ancient history and his mysterious sword be considered a Relic?
I know he's certainly not revered by the Dark Angels, and pretty much everyone holds him in some form of suspicion, but as far as being a relic of an other age, this seems to fit...

Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought
I... actually don't know. Help?
|
Just got an idea! I remember reading about how roman soldiers tried to defend their eagle banners in battle. I once wrote a short fantasy story where a group of soldiers crawled to their banner and grabbed a hold of it to gain courage before death. Something like this?

Matthew, that sounds like a very good idea...
Another question from me, one that has to do with the painting challenge itself... It would be my first time doing it, so please bear with me...
My hobby time is shared with my two kids (who are 9 and 12...) who have also taken up painting, and I'd like to involve them in this without creating forum accounts for them... Could I have all three entries under my user name? My 12-year old son is probably going to paint something Ork-ish, and my 9 yo daughter is probably going to dive into the eldars...
Does that work? I would post starting and finishing pictures for all three projects as they go along during the month...

Actually

The colour was named after Balthazar Gelt, chief of the Magic high schools, who was kinda into alchemy and things, and always wore a gold mask (and a lot of gold), and had a thing for turning entire enemy armies into gold statues.
*throws monocle* *puts on Australian hat or whatever its called* *puts on crusader knight armour, still wearing the hat*
As for the relic, I've got Joanne of Arc for my Infinity PanO, to be painted in Teutonic Order colours (And that will make it two the times I've done her for this contest, maybe I'll make it a tradition), because Dagon damn me if I'm going to painy my MO as anything other than Germans called Otto. Okay, I may at some point, but not now.

Hmmmmmm. That's gonna take a few brain cells..... I'll await Para's verdict, but it should be ok. I'm in support of youngsters not having forum IDs too early. My suggestion would be you post three proofs with each photo under ChaosDad, Mini-ChaosDad-Girl and Mini-ChaosDad-Boy and then we have sort of created IDs for them unofficially. That way we can identify at the voting stage who each photo belongs to, which is the only reason the ID is needed in the comp. Again, they are my thoughts, Para's the big man and he will decree!

I really like the idea, ChaosDad!
Also, any ideas on what I can use as relic, and who should be crawling to it? I'm thinking Marines for poseability, but Guard seems a bit fluffier.

Frankly, I'm all for more youngsters getting into the hobby, so by all means, I'm willing to bend the rules here. TP's idea works, just leave a note saying who's entry is who's and you should be good to go!

Ok, Splendid! We'll do that...
I already have my idea, and the kids are now on holidays away for about two weeks with their mum, so when they get back we'll put out heads together to find some ideas for them...

Indeed they are, but it takes me a whole month to paint a single ork boy, a stompa would be a year long project at the rate I paint

Balthasar would be pretty relic-y. He wields Fellbane, part of an ancient set of power weapons known as the Heavenfall Blades bestowed upon senior members of the Dark Angels Inner Circle. They were made from a chunk of obsidian after a meteorite struck the Rock. Azrael, Belial, Sammael and Grand Master Nakir ( Consecrators chapter) also have Heavenfall weapons

I am very limited in what I have access to for models, but I was wondering if my banner bearer (Banner is on backpack) would be enough to serve as a relic for this topic?
Else my best bet would be my wolf Captain wielding a runesword and wolf claws.
Not able to buy new models this month, and I dont dare go for my Wolf Guard Termies yet.
