Thanks Ustrello, I've been having a lot of fun working on them. As someone who has never actually played the game, I primarily had display in mind when I started. Because of that I think finishing a terrain piece has given me a sort of sense of completion, not that I'm done

Not where I should be

Brilliant colour choices and really nice work, humble beginnings as in a piece of cardboard packaging, now looking like some kind of long forgotten bunker. Great work.

Wow, I really like the pics of the cultists on the hills! They're quiet retro but also grimy. The grey sky is perfect!

I'm surprised no one wants a free game for making me a wallpaper

I haven't painted anything in a long time and this guy was sitting on my desk almost finished, so I eased back into things by getting him done.

I wanted this guy to look like an ancient Fallen who hasn't so much as cracked the seal on his helmet in the last 10,000 years

I've finished two more cultists this week and will get pics up when I have a chance, I have 3 more (4 counting the leader figure I spliced together) and then it's group shot time.

I've been distracted with an out of state move, but I've settled in a bit now and found some time to finish 2 more cultists.

Thanks cam, good to be back. I'm working on my hellbrute right now, just finished blocking in all the base colors and I have to say this thing is gonna be a little tough. There were so many hidden details I didn't really notice until I started slapping on the paint

Ok, so....long story short, I've stripped and reprimed the hellbrute. I know, that was fast, huh?

On a side note, my phone auto corrected hellbrute to Florida. Just saying.

Here are a couple of wip pics of the chaos marine I'm working on right now

11 more minis left to paint for my chaos army, plus a rhino transport. I can finally see the finish line and I'm feeling like I might just get it done by the end of the year...maybe

DS, I hear you, and I promise the Hellbrute I'm working on dials it up an uncomfortable notch. Check back soon for a brain popping, eye melting follow up.

Hey. The cultists look great. Nice work.

I build a lot of terrain. I have found that for me personally making terrain pieces that are meant to be organic, like a shall strewn crater field, to have them on an organically shaped base seems to work better. All of my craters and larger organic pieces were ovals or more organically shaped. They blend into my table better like that.

In order to seal and apply muddy texture I would buy paint premixed in the color that I wanted the mud to be from a home improvement store. Pour what you think you will use into a mixing cup, and then add sand. Mix and paint directly onto your terrain piece. My table was a WW 1 style trench affair and this method worked great. I also used the same paint sand mixture on my bases to make it so my minis would blend in better. Just my .02$. Looking good.

Pestilence Provides.

New job has had me too busy for most things I enjoy, particularly painting, and I feel like I need some new brushes before I tackle anything else.

However, I had made some progress on my Hellbrute before getting bogged down so I will take some quick pics and post them.

Best of luck with whatever you are working on!!

Ok, time for another installment of Tommy screws up. Not as bad as the Great Spray Primer Disaster of 2016 but still...

My neighbor wanted to see some of my finished models so I grabbed my little display case..

and took it out onto the front porch. I apparently wasn't holding it correctly because it fell apart...yes, apart. So, just imagine, minis flying and bouncing and breaking and me trying not to scream like a crazy person. It was a sight.

I managed to find most everything except my most recent chaos marine. So I was searching for it..and it started to rain. Like, a lot. My wife came home shortly after I had given up the search and found it within about 6 seconds. Thank the gods for my keen eyed better half.

Today I reassembled the bits that had jettisoned from their designated homes. No major damage, no repainting required so that's a bright note.

In retaliation for its treachery, I decided to no longer trust the display case to stand upright and converted it to a slightly more elaborate display that is oriented in a more stable position. Let me know what you think, thanks!!

Note: For details on the Great Spray Primer Disaster of 2016 see page 1.
