Here's something that popped up at dollar tree. It's a mecha that's 110mm (4.2") from (sole to top of head)
It's part of a proprietary 3.75" figure line that Dollar Tree just launched.
https://www.dollartree.com/final-faction
The figures are actually pretty cool looking including humans and aliens and some of the best action figures I've ever seen at a dollar tree. My kid and I are having fun with them.
Perhaps even more interesting are the accessory packs that can be bought. The pack in the middle is made for the mech and the one on the right has some usefull bits. Some of the other guns could look great with the mech but you'd have to file the handles down to a peg or glue them in place as the mecha only has peg attachments.
Also for 28mm the hover board has some potential (anti-grave gear transport?) and the drone could be put on a flying stand and used as-is.
Unfortunately even after applying gear to the mech you still will be left with a few holes to fill before painting, but that's not a big deal as for $2-3 you can put together a pretty goood looking mecha suitable for a variety of scales.
If you need large aliens, the line includes these funky fellows. I particuarly like the big guy with the big purple belly button.
They have weapons packs too. Possibly some interesting shapes for kitbashing.
You could almost make a fleet of small scale alien star ships just cutting these up and reassembling them.

The Kharn look pretty cool, and their weapons look like they could pass for Galaxy Quest or Orville baddie ships. The Synthoid pistols have an “Arsenal of Freedom” vibe to them.

We had the lego guns a few pages ago. While the handheld guns are too large imo for 40k, these tripod mounted guns might work for vehicles, dreads and the like. Cutting them up at the moment.
I especially like the Gatling-style rotary cannons.
Got 20 for 13 Euros, but this set seems to be out of stock already https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0863FGBDF
Some are in this set https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B07RTVXTX1 and they are on Aliexpress, just search for 'lego guns'
The amazon and aliexpress seem to change often as are the deals.

That is brilliant. LEGO even has a chunkyness that is well suited to 40k.

Menards has a line of shipping containers now. they're not super cheap, but they come very well painted in packs of 2 for $20 or 8 for $70.
See them here by scrolling down:

When buying train stuff there I like to wait until one of their common freebie sales where they will give you some free item for any train item 19.99 or more.

And some more treasures from Alibaba.
I note that listings disappear all the time, some of the stuff I put up last month is already gone.
I'm really impressed with the number of odd and obscure Soviet/Eastern Block cars I see. They meet my criteria for good 40k cars because they're boxy, a bit impractical and retro and not so familiar they break immersion.

1: 43 Tatra 603 Taitula 603
Another take on that East German car I mentioned before. Those grill headlights are so off-putting!
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001152508078.html
3 wheeled Tuk-Tuks (basically a motorcycle with a bench in back) are a transportation staple throughout Asia and would make total sense in any sort of poorer sci fi world.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001081926273.html
Soviet Taxi according to the listing, looks like it belongs in a 70s sci fi film.

A bit late to the party, but has anyone bought any of the "Starlink" stuff?
It's 30mm spaceships, pilots (Clickly type suculpts and paint) and weapons that are interchangeable and somehow interact with a video game (have not tried it). Shiny Sci-fi style, that would mix well with Inifinty.
I bought the Xbox starter for $10 at Gamestop just for the ship. It's pretty cool.
https://www.amazon.com/Starlink-Battle-Atlas-Xbox-One-Starter/dp/B07DF22DYM
It looks like if I'd started looking a few months earlier I would have been able to find more of the ships at cheaper prices.
I did buy a bunch of weapons packs and some pilots at Dollar Tree last month, but they're almost all gone now. Still might be worth hunting down in the clearance section of your local gamestop.

I have that game, and all of the ships/pilots/weapons for it. They are pretty cool and honestly this is the best attempt at the now abandoned "Toys to Life" video game genre.
If all you want is the ships, I'm not sure how cost-effective it is, although you can find some decent deals on eBay (that's how I got mine).

I've got a handful of ships from it - when they dropped the prices to clear stock last year (the game was going digital only, no need for external physical parts).
Including that starter ship (box was munged, parts missing, so it was heavily marked down to clear $4AUD).
Each component (pilot, ship body, weapons and engines) were chipped and talked to the game, you could swap parts out and apparently the game would do the same to the digital ship.

I'll throw this out there.
If anyone in the USA has any bargain priced starlink ships they'd like to sell I'd be interested. We don't mess with the game so platform doesn't matter, but my son is loving swapping out the weapons and playing with the ship (the one above) that he has.
It's super sturdy so there's no risk of breaking "dad's models" when playing with it.

Your links sent me down the rabbit hole...
That 1/43 tuk tuk is really cool. I did a post apoc tuk tuk http://chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com/2014/10/post-apocalyptic-tuk-tuk-auto-rickshaw.html a while back but it required alot of mods because it was way oversized around 1/30.
The 1/43 you found would be a much better option.
Here's another interesting 3 wheeler.

That taxi may be a must-buy for my sci-fi city. Here's a similar ambulance.

8 different types for 7 bucks shipped each!

Good stuff Eilif, I like that alternate 3 wheeler.
Mutant Chronicles always paid more attention to cars and other civilian stuff than 40k, I really liked it.
And here's a 6 wheeler Mercedes truck/jeep/thing.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32859344138.html
And another 3 wheeler
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000324873534.html
If I ever design some grim dark cars and trucks I would definitely require 3 or 6 wheels for all them, it's just slightly off-putting.

I found a toy digger in Mueller (German supermarket chain). I wanted a crane for my 40K scenery, so I hacked the bucket off and put a couple bases on a chain and attached them.
A barrel, some cross stitch mesh and a couple rolls of tarp from a Tamiya sprue...
Painted it up with a grimy grimdark colour scheme.
What I like about it is that it is a robust and simple shape with lots of flat areas to put models on. Makes it ideal for scenery, so from that POV I much prefer it to the GW crane kit. Also this one cost like 4 euro.
Anyway, I have seen loads of things like this over the years and I am glad I tried it out myself! Thought it fit in this thread.

Excellent work on those diggers. Excellent sci-fi-ification.
Couldn't find a good picture, but in the corner you can see a $3 Forklift from Menards. Painted up two of these.
Diggers, Forklifts and such are great fodder for terrain since they work in so many settings and eras. Automatically Appended Next Post: aphyon wrote:nice find, i wish some of the miniature railroad terrain like tomitech was in 28mm /O gauge.
If you want cheaper railroad terrain for 28mm, hunt down "Plasticville". it's nicely compressed 0-gauge stuff that fits well on the battlefield. Mostly contemporary/20th century, but there are a few art-deco buildings that could be made futuristic. They've been made near-constantly for over 50 years so there's lots of bargains to be had. I've found examples with minor flaws for as cheap as a buck each.
I do like the Tomitech and similar stuff though for 10mm (aka N scale, aka 1/144 or 1/160th) sci-fi a scale we do sci-fi battles (mostly "Mech Attack" with rebased MW clix) in.

Funny that you pointed out the forklift. When I went to hunt the bucket excavator that Peterhausenn posted I found a similar one that bought and retouched for a less toy look.
