Huh I had no idea, good to know.

It's because Canada is stupid. I live here. I know. I get hit with tariffs and taxes on every purchase I've made online. I'm sure by now people are familiar with my shipping woes and the general stupidity of Canadian businesses. If they can find a way to tax us they will.

Edit
A quick follow up. The people who said they wouldn't deliver my dremel delivered it and took cash despite saying they didn't. Thanks paypal. If I didn't have them I wouldn't have had any leverage.

Enough Gamgee. We get it you don't like Canada. So leave? I don't need to keep seeing you say how stupid Canada is and yet you keep living here with all the freedoms and what not that a lot of other countries don't get. Don't like Canada, leave. Can't, fine, but remember Rule Number One. Be Nice. Enough is enough already.

Edit no idea why Gamgee's quote is mixed up here.

To be frank I wasn't complaining so much about the current reduction in price overall trend or the repackaged deal savings, was just wondering why the difference seemed at face value so vastly different. But said curiosity has been abundantly fulfilled.

Why? Because the screw you canada tax....gw has always over priced stuff up here compared to the americans. Back when the C $ was at par or better and you could order stuff from the US up to here, (Vancouver) it really wad worth it and it was a hell of a savings....now a days.... meh

The quotes have been messed up in that thread for a bit, someone messed up to start and it has continued.

Awesome stuff like their (evil socialist) Heathcare needs to be paid somehow, and surprisingly taxes are a popular way that government's get money from their citizens.

That said, sure Gamgee is a Canada hating jerk, but remember who the "Love it or leave it" is usually the cry of.

In Australia this is an example of who will have that bumper sticker...

What I don't understand is the above model is $30 CAN and only $25 American; the base captain kit in CAN was $25, so I have to pay an additional $5+tax for the upgrade sprue?. Why are the prices still so vastly different when us Canadians on top of that pay more sales tax. The Landraider combo box is $95 in the States only $80.

Now my knowledge of economics is rather limited but I'm still confused.

Look forward to Saturday though when they post up the next round of kits.

Doesn't seem too bad. For the amount of euro's I could get 25 american dollars I can get 32 canadian dollars. So it would be(postfees being same) be cheaper for me to order from canada.

That's because the Terminators are not a new kit. They need the upgrade sprue to get the Deathwatch bits. Same with the Vanguard, Razorback, Land Raider, Captain and Terminator Captain. The Deathwatch Veterans are a new kit and they have tons of Deathwatch bits already on their sprue which is why I would assume they don come with an upgrade sprue. Now that I think about it,they don't get one in the Deathmasque box either, that one is for the Vanguard and the Dread.

I haven't got an answer to my last asking so will be asking again. I'm looking to build two, very specific Killteam madeup of Marines from the following Chapters. Any chance of having the Chapter pads to make this group

Black Templar x1
Ultramarine x2
Blood Raven x2
Iron Hands x1
Iron Hands (Terminator) x1
Space Wolf x1
Dark Angel x1
generic skull x1
Raptor x1
Crimson Fist x1
Genesis Chapter x1
Black Shield x2
Blood Angel x1
White Scar x1
Red Scorpion x1
Lamentor x1

I know most of these come in various kits and sprues, but I'm wondering how many of these I'll need to source from bits resellers and how many I'll be able to get on the sprue

There is no Lamentor, Red Scorpion, or Blood Ravens shoulder pauldrons in the kit. Also, no Chapter Badge Terminator Pauldrons are in the kit. So those are all groups you will need to source somehow. If you have two Veterans kits, you will be able to make all the rest though.

What disturbs me a bit here, is that the Deathwatch Veteran kit has new sculpts with MK8 armor and the Vanguard is just an old kit with the upgrade sprue. This will affect how the army looks in general...
Also, you need a Deathwatch Veteran kit per 2 Vanguard kits for the chapter specific 3D shoulder pads. Otherwise you will have an even greater break in aesthetics ^^

I think this would work best when you start from scratch. I have 100+ DW marines so I can't do this but my best guess is that you are meant to get the Veteran box, the Vanguard box, maybe a Sternguard box, a couple of Tactical boxes and Devastator boxes, a Captain or two and then just mix and match the hell out of the bitz. You might need a couple of transports to bulk out the DW Shoulder pad sprue requirement though.

That ways you have all unique marines, various armour marks in different squads and it all looks nice because it is non-standard.
I have a whole mess of different marines in my squads and I have intentionally tried to differentiate them with their only linking theme is the base rim colour and the bolter style they hold (1st squad is GW godwyn, 2nd is FW Phobos etc)
I am getting in on this train because they look awesome and I can use them as the extra weapon options to stash in my other squads (well at least once I find a Frag Cannon alternative)

I guess to put my money where my mouth is, these are the best shot of what I mean that when everyone is out of aesthetic, that is an aesthetic of its own.

Unfortunately I was not in the camp that got an extra Artemis in the set, but I did get a set of DW dice that I didn't order and weren't on the invoice. Looked for any special offer about getting those for free but didn't see anything, so... bonus? Anyone else get extra stuff in their preorder?

Not me. Kinda sad that I didn't now...

Though, tbf, I do not need or particularly want another artemis.
Would have been cool to get an extra shoulder sprue though.

Finally I got my box!

About the size issue: the scale increase is very real. Torsoes are the same size as before, but the legs are significantly larger. It is just not that they stand straight, both thighs and shins are noticeably longer and thicker. This makes the Deathwatch Veterans the best proportioned marines GW has ever produced (scrawny short legs of marines always bothered me.) It is a bit annoying though, that GW didn't do this scale bump when they produced the new tactical kit a while ago, now it will take ages until standard marines will receive similar upscaling.

This is truly a beautiful kit, and I love everything except the helmets. They looked fine in the pictures, but the flat pug faces look rather unappealing in real life.

Is Deathwatch: Ignition worth picking up? it's backstory for the 11 Deathwatch marines from the Overkill set.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

i am enjoying it so far. fleshes out the characters entrance leading up to the deathwatch, or when they are already deathwatch in a team.

That's the short stories about each of the overkill characters? For the most part I really enjoyed them. Tidy wee reads and fun reads. Definitely worth a look. That space wolf one.... What's his name, Drenn something or other ...... Complete asshat. Was so hoping he'd get a proper dry slap from one of the other characters. Maybe the dark angel - little historical echo would've be tidy overall though - defintrly worth a read
