Hey.
We know a lot of Warseer folk have lost their project blogs and records of work.
Many of us here appreciate the love, laughs and history that went into those threads, and how hard the prospect of starting over must be.

So let us say, welcome guys and gals.
Welcome to an opportunity to show a whole new crowd what you're made of. To have hundreds of eyes see things they wouldn't have, if you'd not shown up.
What things make you tick, and what skills are you proud of?

Please, tell us about your work a little, and what you hope your future projects will be.
What we can expect to see from you, and if you have a thread, blog or gallery link it up!

Dakka members, come say hello!

And no, we don't want to hear any tales of forum moderation woes in this topic.

Plogs:

Hello Warseerers- Warseers? Er...People from Warseer! Incredibly sorry to hear that your previous web-site home got taken down, but I'm absolutely sure you will enjoy it here!

I look forward to more grand pieces of work you Warseerers(Here I go again...) are known for producing!

TheEyeOfNight I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes.
Tactical_Spam Vanden clearly loves making sweet sweet love to his school. He is the most passionate, learning oriented individual you will ever meet.
War Kitten You should ask nicely before hitting people with your stick Vanden. We're a polite society after all.
2BlackJack1 Snow is great though. Snowmen, snowball fights, frostbite, snow forts, what's not to love?
Kharne the Befriender It's just the smug look of eternal irony while you wait for Creed to pull out his Baneblade so you can steal it.
War Kitten I love how this has gone from a deathly serious war to a discussion about how Vanden is secretly a whale wearing panties. Welcome to the Crusade of Fury.
Irishpeacockz Well this crusade will be endless then as I imagine Vandan has a large collection of inflatables lying around

Welcome to dakka dakka.

We can leave this as as master link to warseer blogs and help get some new traffic to the blogs to help them going?

Add a brief description of the work you do say, space marines, a titan, eldar or more.
Nice and easy for people to find what interests them.

If buttery wants to of course.

That sounds like an idea, jhe. So long as folk don't think I'm being patronising.

We'd be able to tell who's relatively new by the topics having few pages, ordinarily. But knowing who is rebuilding entirely and dealing with that frustration means we can cheer on a bit more.

Nothing's more disheartening than getting no replies when you post hard work.

Happy We Found Our Primarch

Hello dakka dakka people. I am a past ... warseeren.

I took a year off from hobbying and when I came back I found that Warseer was gone. I lost two plogs in the attack on Warseer. A muddy Vostroyan plog and a swell 30k Death Gaurd plog. After much frustration and I wont lie, a tear, I decided I wanted to continue my Death Guard plog as I loved them the most.

I lost my pictures and only had back ups for a few. I also like to write some narrative to my armies and I lost the stories I told for the models as well. On top of that, during a recent move, I had several models injured and damaged.

I decided to hold my head high and carry on and learn from my fallen plog brotheren. I ordered a Mortarion and decided to rebuild and grow. It should be a fun journey and I'm excited to start on a clean slate.

Welcome! I'm glad to hear you've chosen to keep your chin up.
Good to hear of a Vostroyan lover, not enough of you about.
I hope you can in time feel you've built something good here, too.

Welcome dflinch. Looking forward to seeing some of your stuff. Losing all the stuff is a bitter blow but hopefully you'll feel right at home here and can rebuild.

As usual I'm tied to my paint desk and behind - what happened to Warseer that everyone lost all their stuff?

Hi, I used to have a plog on Warseer under the name Grudgedesign. I actually more or less moved here after the last big outage.

Here is my dakkadakka plog: 'Ere we go

Sad to see all the amazing plogs on Warseer gone, I found so much great inspiration there.

Well I am Captain Brown...I was the moderator for the WarSeer Modelling, Painting and Terrain (MP&T) Section. Sadly, I have no back-ups of any of my PLOGs (Elysians, Necromundian (Guard), Sisters of Battle, Tau, Orks, Eldar and others). I had a lot of painted armies completed over the years and have the images, but that is not the same as a complete PLOG with the interaction of other members. I have started moving some my images over to Dakka, but there are over 8,000 of them so I am only slowly moving those of finished painted models. I have not started a PLOG yet as I am still waiting to hear if WarSeer can at least be brought up as a read-only site as the server was backed up...main reason for the delay is that all the techpriests have left the gaming scene and have no interest in doing a rebuild.

I actually have been a member of Dakka for quite a long time, joining after Dakka's troubles in 2005...but since I was so busy on WarSeer I did not post over here very often. Usually only conversing with folks at the Dakka Swap Shop for things I was looking for and did not see on WarSeer's Trading Forum. I used the forums to trade for old, unwanted models and built my armies that way as I do not mind the older models.

Cheers,

CB

Hail, Dakkaites! I, too, am a Warseerianist.

Captain Brown! Oh, man, your threads were a massive inspiration to me over on Warseer.

I lost (many) Plogs so I thought I'd start up a master chronicle on here - link's in my sig.

Hi Fellow Warseer refugees- nice to see a few familiar names popping up. I haven't got my Plog going here yet but I'll probably out something up in a couple of weeks when work is less hectic. And thanks for the welcome Dakka people! I've floated around here for a wee while, mostly in the rumour section but modelling and painting is mostly my thing.I was thinking of adding a plot here as well as Warseer before the shutdown-might as well go ahead with it now!

Lost a bunch of logs myself.

Thankfully I hosted all my pics off-site so thy're still available. Any text is gone unfortunately.:(

I do have acces to the flavor text I wrote for my World Eater log since I used to write that in a text document and copy over so I have restarted that one on Dakka now.

I do quite miss the way Warseer had the painting forum split in sub-parts. I understand that there's a value in giving everyone's logs the same exposure but it does also mean that it's utterly hopeless to ever search for something.

If it was at least possible to search only the titles of threads, of it there was a tag-system similar to how the gallery works...

Hello everyone,
I'm a fellow Warseerian refugee. I lost 2 plogs - All things Chaos, that I hadn't added to in probably about 3 years and my Index Xenos plog which was mostly Tau Empire (a very dirty battle-worn Vior'la sept force on a desert world setting) but was going to be for other things like my Craftworld Eldar/Harlequins (a small contingent was painted a few years back) and Orks (a number of conversions started and a huge pile of sprues but pretty much all still grey plastic) if I ever got round to them. I'd also taken part in many of the Tale of 40K Painters projects, something like 6 out of the last 9 years since 2007. As recently as mid July I'd posted some pics of my finished Ghostkeel in my Index Xenos plog, then I went on holiday and came back to no Warseer. There were a huge number of threads that I'd drawn inspiration from over the years, not least of all being Lewb81's winter Tau drop troops and his crazily awesome Ogres conversion thread. I will miss Warseer but hopefully this can be a new home for my hobby adventures.
Cheers.
