For what it's worth I found it was easier to paint a metal hoard than a plastic one. With metal I didn't have that assembly time or get diverted into doing complex conversions.

Anyway again, this is a great army.

Thanks Kid_Kyoto,

Some more regular troopers painted:

But all this drudgery of painting regular troopers allowed me to finish this by topping up a pair of squads:

The second platoon.

Two platoons! Now those lasrifles will start doing some damage.

Well.

Unless you're me. And roll 1s more than is statistically feasible.

Thanks Gen.Steiner,

More regular Troopers for the third platoon.

Very similar to the last three, but since they will be in different platoons it should not be an issue.

If you don’t have IG that look similar to each other, you are either playing tiny point games, or spend way too long customizing them.

Looking good!

Thanks Nevelon,

So starting from my five squads and heavy weapon squad I had continued to augment my squads and freeing up troopers for new squads. I had built new heavy weapon teams and those six models added to the pool, but required some more Special Weapons and Sergeants. So that was next on the painting table.

With a few more additions I could have nine complete squads.

A great looking IG force! Really like your bolter Sarges and the heavy weapon teams!

Very nicely painted IG. They look almost as if they could be featured in a Codex or White Dwarf Issue

I really like the old metal special weapon gunners - particularly the heavy duty gloves, which really makes you think about the heat radiation of the plasma and meltas!

Thank you Cardinal Xaphan, maybe in 1989 when the original Imperial Guard models came out, but not with all the excellent painters they have at GW and around the world.

Thanks Gen.Steiner, that would explain why so many of my Plasma Guns role 1's.

Next up were some more Sergeants to finish up some more squads.

I like that your sergeants haven't got chainswords. It's a nice and simple thing but it really makes them stand out.

Thanks Gen.Steiner,

So I finished up the Missile Launcher Teams.

And also did a Junior Officer with Bolter and a second model with a Lasgun...since Sergeants and Officers could not have a Lasgun I considered changing the model, but decided to leave it in a PCS as a regular Guardsman.

Thanks Inevitable_Faith,

Then two last Troopers:

And that gave me enough to bulk up the Third Platoon.

That's a whole mess of guardsmen, Captain.

Any plans to pick up more Kasrkin during the flash rerelease this weekend?

Thank you Alaricuk. I just follow the same order of paint each time, the zebra stripes are completely random.

Cap'n Facebeard, that was the reason for my homage.

Thanks Dysartes, no plans for more Karskin...did not even know there is a flash release this weekend.

Added a few more models to make one more PCS.

Which when added to my remaining two reinforced squads to make a forth Platoon.

So my five squads of Necromundans had grown to nine with the additions from my refresh. I was pretty well burnt out painting infantry and it was going to be vehicles next, but in the meantime here was a progress shot.

Close ups of the same.

So Treadheads rejoice, as the vehicles are coming next.

Great looking army there mate! It's always good to see an IG army with an interesting theme which sadly many lack since GW stopped all the unique looking regiments

Yeah, there's a variety of codes back up - in metal - as a 48 hour rerelease, though the window may extend if things prove popular. I may cave and pick up some of the characters I don't have, and possibly another Kasrkin squad, as they're still awesome models.

Dysartes,

Seems to be a UK thing only.

Now Treadheads rejoice as here come the tanks. First up is the old style Leman Russ "45" magnetized so that I can swap out the second hull mounted weapon or add the side sponsons.

Thanks for the comments and replies.

I beg to differ, mon Capitan - here is the link to the Canadian Kasrkin

Nice looking Russ, by the way - the lighter stippled camo pattern reminds me of the ones I painted for my Guard, though the darker colour was a dark green/grey.

Thanks Dysartes, the notification came out on Sunday here in Canada...and except for the Kasrkin and a Commissar they were all listed as "Sold Out".

Next tank was a Basilisk, first in it's squadron.

But it looked so plain so I added more netting.

The little extra about this tank is that the gun deck slides out and can be replaced by a Griffon Heavy Mortar.

Fantastic work CB. It's amazing that you were able to make such an awesome looking tank but you were able to build it so it can function as a different variant too. Is the griffon mortar part painted yet? I'd love to see that too.

Certainly Inevitable_Faith,

Here is the second Basilisk.

The gun platform just slides out and I slide in a Heavy Mortar bay.

Here are the Griffon Heavy Mortars.

The secondary weapons can also be swapped between Heavy Flamers and Heavy Bolters.

What've you used for the netting, Capitan?

And are you caught up to the "new work" stage, or are you still on the Warseer repost stage?
