Some serious dedication on those conscripts, but they look beautiful. Keep it up! Love the camo choice. Also amazing how much a head swap and ditching the pads changes the profile of those cadians...

Great job getting all these guys done. It’s impressive that you are maintaining not only a steady pace, but a consistent level of quality.

I think after the first dozen of conscript I’s just be randomly slapping paint on them, assuming they found their way up from the back of the bench.

Thanks for encouragement Nevelon.

Two more for the second round:

The Conscripts were painted two by two, hurrah! Hurrah!

Great stuff. How many more conscripts to go?

Once you finish this squad are you going to make two more like it? If they are only 105 points, you should have the points in most lists.

It’s the Guard’s rule of 3: If you want something done, take three of them. The first will die before doing anything, the second will miss, but the third will get the job done.

And conscripts are a pure example of one of the core IG tenets: We have more bodies then you have bullets.

Keep at it!

Thanks Nevelon,

I have thought about it, even went so far as to acquire a few more bodies, but that would be another major project.

As folks are getting tired of Conscripts, here is a break with almost the opposite...a Leman Russ.

This is the original kit that I have cleaned up and added swappable weapons with rare earth magnets.

The "Lucky #7" (hey, when you play Guard tanks some luck cannot hurt)

Looks great man. Good call on the swappable parts too, always makes tanks easier to field that way.

Hellhound looks awesome dude, I don't recognize that side plating at all though, does it come with the kit or is that extra?

Inevitable_Faith,

You got that they were the old, metal parts Hellhound, with metal turret and fuel tanks. but the side armour is actually old Mark I Rhino extra armor upside down.

Cheers,

The Conscripts were painted two by two, hurrah! Hurrah! Although this time I painted three to get to fifteen on the second flight.

When added to the rest of the second flight they look like this:

When added to the existing twenty:

Now that was a lot of Conscripts...but only 105 points worth.

Like yourself I sometimes get a little burnt out after painting a particular model or group of models, so for now that will be all the Conscripts.

They look great all blobbed up CB, lots of personality thrown in on lots of em. It's nice that you put in the work to make them different from the standard guardsmen too so that on the tabletop it's clear which unit is which.

After the Conscripts I did some regular Troopers with the forage caps, here is an example beside a regular Trooper.

Forage cap head makes the man look youthful. But the more I look at them the more I like them, the more the guys with helmets seem like they've got enormous heads.

Great job, CB. I loved your Elysians and they even inspired me to start my own. I've just started them, but I can always draw on your plot for inspiration in the long painting war.

I really like the way you do your tanks with brushes and freehand and a few decals (I think). I'm not an airbrush guy so it's good to see there is an effective alternative.

Loving this! Very inspiring work doing all those conscripts

More I say! Wyverns and conscripts is all that a guard army needs.

Thanks Warboss_Waaazag,

That was always the goal of the Conscripts, to make them look young or very old depending on the face. As for the Guardsmen with enormous heads...plastic Guard have had large round helmets since the first Rogue Trader box of 36 models.

Thanks The Riddle of Steel, most people do airbrush on tanks and flyers...I have done it on the odd flyer but no tank other than priming.

Thank you TheGiantPeanut, did you see my take using old Griffon's to make my Wyverns on page 3?

Now some minor work...took the one VOX operator I had with one of those Helmets with the mouthpiece and did a head swap (figure from the Imperial Guard Cadian metal box set):
