I hope the Rubric part of the Terminators can be removed easily. I'd like to use them with my Prospero guys.

Okay, so the Rubric Marines are in Mk IV, the Scarab Occult are in Tartaros, and other than the occasional Tzeentch swish, the decoration and icons on them are not really chaos imagery. The banding on the armor actually reminds me a lot more of what's on the torso sections of the plastic Cataphractii and Tartaros. In short, you could swap out the rubricae heads (maybe leave them for a sergeant) for regular Mk IV, paint them in red, and use most of these straight out of the box for a 30k TS legion force (most fittingly for veterans, in the case of the Rubric Marines box).

Arihman and the exalted sorcerers are insane.

The regular 1k sons are great also.

Not sure about the termi, they look a bit too rigid (yeah I know they are automaton, but still, their tabard is way too stiff)

Same for the Tzangor, while I love beastmen, I feel they never really fit into 40k. Seems a bit like the old day where they were releasinf fantasy minis and calling it a day.. The fact that they seem to be monopose is also terribly dissapointing.

I do very much hope that you can build all 10 Marines as Rubrics.

There's clearly 5 distinct poses for the tzaangors. Are people calling them monopose because none of them is doing a handstand while shooting?

Symbols on the 1 AND the 6?

Nice.

Wait, do those have the serpent/skull on opposite sides? Like, in place of both the one and the six?

So, I can happily have the skulls as ones, and the serpent as the six (so long as my opponent understands which is which)?

Awesome. I need these, so much.

But I need all of it, so much. And in large quantities, too!

Interesting, also, to note that the spatulate type bottom end of old Ahriman's staff, 30k Ahriman's staff, and hopefully new plastic Ahriman's staff is a common feature in the Thousand Sons legion. The sorcerer in the Rubric Marines box has the same style bottom fixture, the jump pack Exalted Sorcerer has a similar style to his, can't tell on the leftmost Exalted Sorcerer.

Ahriman: 9/10. Best thing I've seen from GW in a long time, can see myself buying this even though I don't do Tzeentch and probably barely qualify as a 40K player any more.

Rubrics: 7/10. They're fine, they're rank and file, it's an aesthetic I don't really care for, but there's plenty of nice details in there, and they get a bonus point for finally getting a kit.

Termies:5/10. They double down on the elements I'm not keen on in the Rubrics, and as streetsamurai already touched on, are lacking a bit in dynamism, and, whilst thematically appropriate for 1KSons, doesn't appeal to me.

Sorcerers: 6/10. A bit too busy, and a bit "catalogue model" in posing.

Tzaangors: 8/10. Really pleased to see Beastmen rejoin the Chaos pantheon in any form, and I actually really like the sculpts. Bonus point for being painted in a really appealing shade of blue!

Alright. Whether or not I scrap my Genestealer Cult plans for Thousand Sons will hinge directly on how many of those dice containers I can get.

That was unexpected revelation. I agree that they are nice shades of blue.

I really can't get behind the exalted sorcerers and I kind of wish they went with the Tartaros terminators look like they tried too hard to make them fit into both 30k and 40k.

Everything else I love and I am over the moon with the Ahriman sculpt. They paid homage to the originally and made it infinitely more dynamic and menacing.

Now we just need to find out what they did with the rules. And I'm curious if we'll really get melee Rubrics and some additional options out of the terminators.

OMFG

The BIGGEST thing here is the rubrics, by far.

10 man squad, contains 4 specials AND a heavy?
That's some seriously scoped up unit.

And flamers? that's interesting. makes me wonder what gear they got.
If their bolters are AP3, why take a flamer? unless its not a regular flamer?

Also, rubric carry the same minigun as the termi. wonder what that gun is, because it doesn't look like an autocannon, or anything else I know.

Though honestly, can't quite relate to the models themselves. rather glad I got myself the BoP marines instead, they look better.
Just need a disc for Ahriman I guess.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

No, it's the plastic GW "Daemon-Primarch", as opposed to the future resin forgeworld "Primarch"

These minis are blowing my mind. Thousand Sons were one of the first things to get me into 40k and I have always hoped they would make a return to glory one day. The Rubrics are sooooo good and the Tzaangors might be one of the best things to ever come out of 40k model wise.

They do not look that monopose to me. It looks like arms, torsos, legs and heads could be switched around creatively. I managed to make my necron warriors and immortals in distinct enough poses but I have not seen the sprue.

I still love em anyway!!

With better quality pics I see what your saying now. 5 sculpted plus 5 identical. Perhaps they only painted 5, took 2 pics and photoshopped them as one. Probably not.
