I would love to but it's really off balanced!
gobert wrote:In the Grim Darkness of the far future there is only... oversized tea cups! I agree with ChaoticMind that the teapot has to be the Standard Icon. Maybe the cups could be shields? Unless the set came with saucers, then they have to be the shields! They could also be made in to holy relics to fight over! Can you tell how much I’m loving this idea by the rambling ideas?!? Keep the magic coming turtles!
I've been working on the idea of using the big pot as an objective/relic! It came on a platter too, which i've thought of using as something held up to like they're carrying the cups as a relic or something similar.

But I love tea! I do think i need smaller versions of this though.
Meanwhile... have the forces of chaos gained otters of their own? Dark times...

Chaos guy is pretty mean and scary looking. Very nice, but the otter might need rams horns too. To make him a proper chaos otter.
Relic/objective plan sounds like a great fun idea. You may have to get some green stuff on the go for the smaller tea plans though.

Ha ha! Love the chaos otter. It would be fun to see him also kitted out a bit. Little horns and a little staff, maybe drill though right below one of his paws and push a rod through, so it looks like he's holding it. What is it topped with? Perhaps a human skull?
I like the idea of using the tea cups as objectives. Maybe putting them on some of those turtles for a mobile tea party? Oh no, the pitcher has wandered off to one corner of the table, but the tray with all the canapes is stuck in the center! Whichever army collects the most gets the best tea party and wins the match.

I mean, with that chaos marine's pose and all, I kinda figured he was the pet, and the otter was in charge. Its sort of a "behold! The otter!" Or at least an otter summoning adjacent pose

Yup, Vejut is totally correct. The Otter is totally the one in charge here and the marine is just his herald / ride.

Thank you so much everyone! And of course, you are all correct. Of course the otter is the one in charge! How could i have been so blind?
I made an attempt at horns, i may change them and add more at some point.
The real questions are: How did the noble otter become corrupted? What does this mean for the loyalist Void Otters? Is there some connection with the Order of the Bad Neighbor and their love of tea? And will I ever post a space marine with a pet again, like the title of the blog says?
Stay tuned.
Because I probably won't answer any of those questions.

Thank you! These otters are quite devious it seems...
In the meantime, behold! The most important objective of them all: tea!

Chaos otters. Definitely need to run with the chaos otters.
The important faction that binds together the khornate honey badgers, the tzeentchian weasels, the nurglitch minks and the slaaneshi polecats. Without the chaos otters the mustelidae confusio would fragment and scatter.
No need to comment on the tea objective, because..well, because it's tea, obviously the most important treasure to be found on the board.
Unless there's a cheeseboard.
Or a gin selection.
Obviously, one of the most important treasure to be found.

Here is a head swap on a figure i don't even know why i have? I mean, i know how i got him, it was a gift. but i don't really have any sons, thousand or otherwise. so i replaced ahrimans head with a more bearded one.
Also i recently updated my blog! the blogspot one, not this one.

With all the avian skulls I presumed he was either some sort of marine veterinary for all the marine pets, or a taxidermist, preserving the brethren's little friends after the warp has claimed them....

It's an effective head-swap, though. He fits in with the stormcast headswaps you did a few pages ago.
It's actually a pretty interesting effect. It adds a bit of dignity and sense of cold efficiency to the models. Like they've only reluctantly embraced chaos to right their perceived wrongs against the Imperium. This guy would make a good leader for such a force!

That bearded head is great - where did it come from?
The horned otter is magnificent. I can definitely picture an entire chaos cult forming around his worship and praise. Many little stones would be left at his altar for him to juggle. To float with him and hold his hand is the ultimate gift.

Hm, that's not a bad idea actually. Maybe the void otters have a hall of the fallen and it's all just pets, with shrines and everything... That could be a fun little project to make too!

Honestly that is kind of the idea i want for my chaos marines. They don't much like any of the gods, i think. Maybe they just worship the concept of chaos. Does that make them sounds like chaos hipsters? maybe
Viterbi wrote:Nice headswap and with a different color scheme he will make a nice chaos sorcerer.
Thanks! that's the plan

The blessing of the otter is the greatest of all blessings! The head came from one of warlord games celt sets, i think? i've got some random historical stuff floating around, it's good as a source for beardy heads
In the meantime, here is an objective of great import: tiny chickens!

I like bearded Ahriman, and that skink seer is a really smooth conversion - really looks like it was meant that way.
As for teacup standards I would like to point out two things:
1) It is far from the silliest thing in 40K. Warriors carrying a teacup into battle is nowhere near as bizzare as warriors in armor that doesn't let them raise their arms over their heads.
2) It is already painted. How can you walk away from that? Surely a weighted base would solve the balance issue. Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry to hear about the pleurisy - that bites. Get well soon! Some of your image links are broken at least for me, just FYI.
