Are primaris marines (including reivers) specifically excluded from using drop pods? I saw in a video they were disallowed from riding in things like land raiders and rhinos but wasn't sure about pods.

Reivers may not be able to make them, but they can be on the receiving end of them. They are cheaper and better screening unit than intersessors
So you're using your Primaris Marines to screen and become chaff? Uh.. Conscripts? Because they are cheaper and thus more cost effective to die doesn't mean they have any use tho.

No, you're not the only one, I noted it couple of pages ago. Still, it is far from obvious that this will indicate deep strike capability, although I really hope that it does. But if it is indeed is the case that the multipart kit comes with these backpacks allowing deepstiking, then it is foolish to buy the easybuild ones which lack this critical bit.

I think the only thing they are currently allowed to ride in is the new Repulsor.
I guess they prefer a smooth ride.

It is super annoying, especially as I expect Repulsor to cost a lot of points, making it rather questionable transport option. I hope that in the codex they will allow Primaris to use old vehicles, though that is unlikely to happen. I wish that at least there will be a cheaper, transport variant of Repulsor with less guns (it would look better without the turret anyway.)

Probably start the process of press molding the veins on the jump dudes to use as grav chutes for the Reivers.

Or it might actually be a case that Space Marine usage of 2 main types of armor (Power Armor & TDA) for the past 10,000 years ended up with all transports manufactured and used during the past 10,000 years to have restraint systems and interface systems that are compatible with the two suits of armor that were actually used. And that logistically it might just be easier to go "Chapter Masters, here is a surprise batch of genetically enhanced Space Marines that are bigger than any of you, and who use a new set of armor that is not compatible with any of the old stuff. And here are their rides" than to go "Chapter Masters, here is a surprise batch of genetically enhanced Space Marines that are bigger than any of you, and who use a new set of armor that is not compatible with any of the old stuff. We need all Space Marine forces to withdraw from all battles and stop operations so that you can send all your transports to the nearest forgeworld for retrofitting so that the new guys can buckle up." I hadn't spotted this, but it clears it up. Looks like you have to buy them a grab chute for the option to deep strike. That seems totally reasonable.
We still don't know if they'll have the option to infiltrate instead - though if they can it would give you a potential reason not to deep strike. We do know that we should only buy the full kit when it comes out, not the easy to build guys with an illegal squad size, no grav chutes and no weapon options.

Deep strike and infiltrate is the same rule, so it really doesn't matter what they call it.

Kirasu wrote:Deep strike and infiltrate is the same rule, so it really doesn't matter what they call it.
Actually that's not the case - or at least not for all units. There are some units that infiltrate exactly like deep strike, such as assassins. But other units, like Tau ghostkeels and stealth suits, get to deploy on the board but outside their deployment zones, rather like the old version of infiltrate. Still other units get to come on from the board edges, or get a pre-game move.
If reivers were to get the Tau version of infiltrate they'd be much better at getting 1st turn charges, because they'd start the game 9 or 12" away, then get to move 6" in the movement phase. That's closer than the 9" they'd normally be from the enemy and far more likely to make a charge - but at the risk of something bad happening to them first.

No it's actually because of the cup holders. You can't seriously expect the Empreror's finest to charge into battle without at least a 20oz soda.

Space Marines drink their own urine as part of the power armor's recycling system. You don't need a cup holder when your catheter doubles as a drinking straw.

Datasheet from the easybuild box:
Missing the red text, otherwise the same*. Still Ultras only, which is stupid, this certainly should have <chapter> instead.
(*EDIT: except not, APs of the pistol and the blade have been reversed.)

Well so far all the Primaris stuff has been released in box sets about the Ultramarines vs Deathguard, besides its hardly a new thing.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

It is pretty much certain that they will be available to all chapters in the codex, their point cost PDF already says so and we've seen them in different colours. It is just GW fething up the easybuild datasheet.
Also no more -1 ap?
Wah?
That is most likely a mistake as well. Otherwise they're just normal bolt pistols so why call them heavy bolt pistols?
