First game of 40k for 2020 and first using sisters though due to lack of models rather unoptimal force and it showed. Did get to try couple neat tricks like 10" charge with miracle dices and my canoness with 2+4++ can't be wounded better than 4+ ignores up to -2 soaked all opponent threw at her. eliminators? I'll laugh at thee!

Still got crushed by blood angels. Picked wrond dz, lost gallant not knowing his aggressors can heroic intervene stratagem and got boxed in due to not having much to kill anything with.

First game of aos. Still not particularly good vibe though could largely be due to game size(750) and respective armies that made it rather binary. He didn't manage to stop terrorgheist, it roflstomped over entire army literally single handedly. Not one wound was done by other flesheater unit.

Changeling got 2 swings at it but failed to kill before getting swatted. With 20 blue horrors facing non degraded terrorgheist, 10 ghoul, their courtier, ghoul king and 10 ghouls still unsummoned game, set and match. Lost just 10 ghouls

Imperium soup(sister of battle, ig, knights) vs tyranids. Last game of tournament. Bug warriors, tyranid prime, neurothrope and tunneler all came to my rear. Celestine, geminia, canoness, repentia, 2 penitent engines and later arco flagelants all supported by imagifier were busy splatting some bugs.

Neurothrope fried celestine once with psychic mortal wounds but didn't roll 1(no CP left) so came back though 3++ kept alive after celestine and 2 penitent engines had struck. Luckily geminia finished the psyker bug off.

Bad news was this took tons of unit off from center where all the objetives ere.

At this month's SJGA meeting, I played a game of General d'Armee from TooFatLardies. We replayed the action at Gilly, during the Waterloo campaign.

The Prussians were set up to defend a river crossing, hoping to delay the approaching French army.

I commanded the French right, where I used my French veterans to aggressively push across the river and throw back the defending Prussians.

The fight for the bridge was a see-saw action, with both sides assaulting, defending, and losing the crossing multiple times.

Ultimately, the French managed to force three Retreat results on various Prussian brigades, which forced the Prussians to fall back without causing enough of a delay.

I got to play a game of Age of Fantasy, One Page Rules version of Age of Sigmar, with Mrs. Da Boss yesterday. Lots of fun, the system is good and simple while still having enough to it to give a different feel to the factions (in this case, Dwarves and Goblins!)

The whole stable of One Page Rules are fantastic. I'm constantly having to avoid picking up 40k stuff to play it with.

Hadn't seen your comment, the terrain is really nice. Luckily, I didn't have to pay for it, because it's a friend's table

I might - MIGHT - grab a Necron starter if my ebay sales go over well enough. Just a Start Collecting box is enough for a great game with OPR.

Dungeons and Dragons last night, after freeing an Angel from it's service guarding a vault of powerful items in a ruined city over run by demons, the heroes confront occupying forces with their new ally. Nice ending to a several session stint of ruin-bashing that has seen this group go through high level demons like a buzzsaw.

Photo from a recent Titanicus game at the start of the week. 1250pts of Astorum Venator vs a Crucius Axiom.

He got a lucky first strike and took down my Reaver in Turn 1 using just a pair of Warhounds. One of my own Warhounds stalled in the movement phase and sat around doing nothing, while the other got a lucky strike on his Warlord and dropped the shields, allowing my Reaver a free headshot with his Volcano Cannon.

By the end of Turn 1 I had lost a Reaver and he had lost his Warlord, my Cerastus Knights whiffed spectacularly on the charge; 5 attacks hitting on 2+ and I rolled 4 1's, with the single hit rolling a 1 to damage!

I eventually took out his Twin-Vulcan Warhound and crippled the other one, at which point his remaining Reaver decided to hightail it and get out.

Tried out Cruel Seas, my Britons sank a Nazi tanker before it could escape to the horizon. Very nice system, designed for more hectic engagements than traditional "sit 10 km away and roll dice until somebody dies" battleship games.

First outing of pure sisters vs tau. Keeping in mind orky lesson of "stay outside their rapid fire range" and generally being tough as nail to remove(opponent was not amused by my "invulnerable" saves. He was relying on riptide burst cannons and whopping 27 cyclic ion blasters for main damage. And as he split fire bit too much that ended up...Well not well.

MD's got put to good use killing riptide, getting 11" charge with seraphim taking them to tower forcing him to spend all marker lights to clear them and still failed and generally ensuring I get decent amount of successes at times. And in last turn doing 6 scoring myself 5 vp from leap of faith card taking me to 20-4 lead and with most of tau dead or facing near sure death(2 crisis suits ain't surviving long vs half the sister army including celestine).

Valorous heart might be rather nasty hard counter for tau. Albeit this tau list probably wasn't tournament optimal.

1500 points, getting my Mortis buddy back into Titanicus again with a good ol' pedagogical trashing. He played a full Axiom with midrange guns and fists, I had a turbo-agressive light Venator/Ferrox combo with Tempestus rules (basically I may get to shoot back with vengeance when my engines die, which proved very impactful in this game). We drew a basic mission setup and he went for Vital Cargo while I took Retrieval. Captain Erasmus was in trouble and needed extraction, a titan warzone is no place for small but important individuals!

Running for their lives

I just like the visuals and plop my Epic army in there as a backdrop, especially during the Heresy what's a battlefield without any soldiers on it?

Some were used as counters, though, like the captain to be retrieved (and dropped, and thrown into an acid vat, and dug up again...).

The landa's and generally flying transports are so resilient that generally don't plan on dropping them with your AA. I don't think I ever managed that one. AA is mostly good for causing blast markers for ground bombers and fighters making their orders more difficult.

Nothing on the table, but here is the board we used for a trio of games today:

Spoiler:

We had:

Deathwatch v Sisters of Battle (DW wiped the Sisters off the board).
Tau vs Chaos (Tau wiped the Chaos off the board).
Tau vs Tyranids (at the top of turn 4 the score was 12/1 my way with my 'Nids, so we called it).

Interesting table and the first time I've ever played on a table with no man-made structures/ruins/buildings/etc. A Completely "organic" table.
