A very important detail that I have not seen posted. The rules for using regular terrain will be in a separate book. Not sure if this contains the full rules for the game or not.
If it does and you already have terrain and gangs you could just buy the book and start playing. This was the case with bloodbowl so hopefully it will be the same this time.
This info comes from warhammer weekly on YouTube.
They said the book will come out the same day as the boxed game.

So if I want to play Necromunda with actual terrain I have to buy some extra book? That sucks.

Eh sounds good to me so long as the book isn't just rules for playing with 3D terrain.

I guess it will be fine if the box is like quick start rules for playing JUST with the contents of the box, and the book is the full game. But really I would have vastly preferred to have everything in one book in the box.

Bummer about the board game tiles, though I guess they could add a neat way to have a sub-level to a standard Necromunda board, portraying vents and sewers below the tabletop, that you set up an a second table. But as a main feature of the game? Nothing about Necromunda gives people fond memories of board game tiles!

Deadzone buildings look perfect for Necromunda, or if you want to assemble but not paint, Dave Graffam just released a set of Deadzone-styled paper terrain that looks like it would be great to use, if a bit too much of a "yellow" overdose.

I reckon the box comes with board game style rules and then if you want to play "full" Necromunda as a tabletop minis game, as in days of old, you use the book.

Exactly

there's nothing good about having to pay for an extra book on release to play with the full rules

I heard this info on warhammer weekly, an aos focused youtube show. The host Vince went to the seminar and took notes. I have not seen this info posted any where else so it may be wrong.

Noooooo! We were finally free of them!

edit: Its a shame about the lack of 3d terrain. The old necromunda set was perfect for the game.

Shame about the terrain in the box. I'm hopeful but not blown away.

If the book has more missions out of the gate, then this isn't a bad thing.

"Deadzone" style support for Necromunda is a good idea.

Do we have a date for this?

If it's soon may have to skip Blightwar and start saving my pennies for this.

Dirty gangers resonate with me much more than marines and stuff- except reptiles.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

isn't that GW's Amy March doing the voice over?
Here she is in a playthrough of Deathwatch Overkill:

Back on topic:
This looks excellent with high quality stuff all around.
Not happy to see templates come back or special dice.
Kinda wondering if that's not a semi-shot back at FFG---and yes I'm aware GW were making specialty dice like artillery, direction dice, etc. long before FFG were around.

Kind of bummed that November if going to eat my wallet, what with this AND Shadowspiire coming out potentially very close together.

Not to mention that GW tends to do limited release Christmas bundles in November (those terrain bundles might suddenly be worthwhile).

Good point. Maybe expanded armory? Expanded character development?

I took a pic from the video. You can get a pretty good look at a profile. Apologies if this is known info.
It looks like 5 sets of legs and five torsos for each gang with a bunch of arms, weapons and trinkets for each side.

Depending on how thick the tiles are, you might be able to plug them into the original bulkheads :-)

Edit: scratch that, when I watched the video I thought they were more akin to Space Hulk being modular individual pieces. I see now they are large tiles more like Overkill has.

I'm not too worried about the voice over - at first, I thought exactly the same as others, - it's crap, and Dick Van Dyke levels of bad...

Until I realised, it fits perfectly. Hear me out.

The narrator goes on to explain their surroundings, and their dialect is considered "low" Gothic - 40k equivalent of uneducated speech. Let's be honest, the vast majority of Gangers probably learnt how to count from ammo checks, reading hazard signs as not to run into dangerous things and passed down info from Gangers to Juves.

In short, the accent is off to show the difference between education and upbringing. Heck, even the Death Guard marines in that video spoke proper Gothic!

Still, NECROMUNDA'S BACK BABY! OH YEAH!

Well that explains why they were so sheepish when it came to answering questions about the terrain that would come in the box when it was first revealed. There will basically be none.
I may be in the minority here but this is incredibly disappointing. Necromunda, to me at least, was all about the 3D multi level terrain. I know the rules for using it will be included but the fact that it's a 2D game in the box set is a shame. Could have been another really good opportunity to include some more expanded sector mechanicus terrain. Hoping that the box set will be super cheap to reflect this.

Well they straight up told us there wasn't going to be 3D terrain in the box already. Too expensive and they figured most poeple already had Shadiw War terrain. Without Shadow War there wouldn't even have been any suitable terrain to buy.

To be fair, SWA has them in red.

I wonder if I can get a set of orange or red templates on the cheap. Hm.

Ok I can't remember seeing that, do you have a link? I do recall a lot of skirting around the questions but must have missed where they said there would be no 3D terrain. Oh well, I can still be disappointed that this isn't the Necromunda box set I was hoping for.

It would be awesome if the tiles somehow fit into the bulkheads.. but I'm too lazy to go back and look.. I see someone above mentioned similar but my laziness in fact is keeping me from knowing what they're saying..

Also, what's this?

I think it was a rumour image awhile ago, wasn't it?

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Yeah I'm not getting the issue with the box contents. They're making the best use of available resources, tunnel-fighting tilesets is a reasonable option. Anyone who was expecting the box to include two full plastic multipart gangs, and the rules, and all the play aids, AND an even vaguely playable set of plastic terrain was simply kidding themselves on.

Just think for a moment how much SecMech sprues you'd need to construct a table with enough cover to make a game like Necromunda work, they'd need to be basically giving away well over a hundred quid's RRP worth of plastic in every box, it was never going to happen. And 3D cardstock terrain is pretty rubbish, lets be honest, they couldn't get away with that these days.

I'm actually quite looking forward to the tunnel fights anyway, while the 3D stuff was a fun tactical challenge I like the presentation of Hives as largely consisting of some horrifying metallic warren.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Eh, they pretty much did it with Shadow War. I guess it depends on what budget and market they wanted to cater for.
