Maybe a Conquest week if they stick to known formats.

Will be good to supersede the outdated Let's Plays

What do you reckon it'll be?

I hope that a new Conquest week is what they tease there. I did really enjoy it in the past. New battle reports, with latest/or even not released minis, and latest rules like retinues etc. New art/concept art for all races/entire world. New lore about old and not released armies.

Seems like we will be able to determine which direction will some of the character take.
Lots of the locations and characters are known, other stuff on the map not so much. Super interested to see where this goes.

O M G....

This excites me more than it should, haha.

Also during the last live QnA rules development lead Konstantinos Lekkas stated that the skirmish rules beta is very near completion and that they are currently working on a campaign supplement to guide you through your own custom campaigns outside of the living world

They've got a crazy offer going on, the core box is already a steal but on top of that you get two other boxes.
Already got two cores so will have to pass.

I got to admit that the amount of constant discounts and free prizes they give away is baffling compared to how little other companies tend to do.

Some of those earlier sculpts are, to put it bluntly, pretty bad. In my eyes they need to be steeply discounted to be appealing, and that is before getting into the 32mm issue.

So, they are being steeply discounted and they're not 32mm... more like 38/42... either way, they big and thats not an issue because they are the perfect size to play Conquest

Whatever the scale, I cannot reccomend them to people looking for DnD figures, alternate AoS figures, etc. Yeah it is not ideal to be selling figures for use in another company's game, but sales are sales. I think having the different scale cuts them out of income that could really help keep things afloat while the actual game builds popularity.

The scale "issue" is often exaggerated. Many of the Conquest models fit perfectly in other games. They are similar to modern-GW (and work well as SCE, OB, Chaos alternatives), wouldn't be off for Kings of War (nighstalkers, giants, ogres, etc...) and even for agnostic games were everyone brings something different. I mean, some people play 25mm vs 28-32mm and don't complain. Or use Lego.

But most importantly, the models are great and work for Conquest which in terms of rules, fluff and fun is notably superior to other games

They do not fit perfectly, that is a matter of measurements. Respectfully, I feel like you have probably not seen the miniatures you are referencing in person next to Conquest models because the difference is very clear when they are next to each other. The rest is subjective, I disagree on a lot of those points but I am glad you enjoy your game of choice.

Anecdotally, I would have bought the human minis and nords for use in King of War if they were closer to established scales. Now the only things I could buy are monsters and non-humans where I can use them as big stuff

I have a few models mentionned above, hence the examples. Sure, the measurements are not exactly the same but that doesnt invalidate their use as good alternatives.
Take the Jotnar. It is a bit smaller than the Mantic giant. Or the Steel Legion, who arent as chuncky as SCE. Not the same measurements but still works, in the same way my Raging Heroes models dont measure exactly like my warhammer models (which are themselves quite different as there is a mix from 3rd edition up until now).
What I mean is that each model doesnt require to be completely like its count-as. If you have an army with multiple brands or editions, it is evident.
Then again I suppose people have different criteria on what they consider acceptable as viable alternative, but that is subjective. Fine for me.

That's certainly the case for me, but I may pick up some of the Greek inspired figures when they show up

There’s a reason why Mantic’s more-true-scaled Enforcers and GCPS didn’t hit with GW gamers while Victoria and WGA do. Even slight differences in scale can be enough to break the illusion of coherency.

Just check out Highlord Tamburlaines Youtube videos "Obscurities in miniatures" especially his ones showing direct side by side of mantic dwarves, old gw dwarves, new AOS Dwarves and the Conquest Dwarves. You will see exactly how well the DO NOT scale.

Oh, I know. I checked in person with my own Dwarves and Dweghom, no need for a video. I also happen to have mention that many or some work fine, not all. Dweghom are precisely the type of model that wouldn't fit. That's why I didn't bring them up.

I'd be interested in seeing some scale comparisons with GW Stormcast which are huge and look out of place with everything else I own.

Either way, by all reports it is a great game. I hope it thrives.

Here's one I literally just made after reading this, between a Nord Raider and Lord-Celestant Tommy Wiseau.

Nord Raiders make great Goliaths in RPGs. Just saying. Or half giants. There's always a use for them, you just gotta get creative.

I should get a hold of some of the militia models. I'm wondering how they look with the other Conquest models. Considering they aren't supposed to be elite warriors or anything like that, maybe they're a bit more in line with other human models out there?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Nice, thank you!
Looks like if that Stormcast were standing up straight their heights wouldn't be too far off. Nords as half giants or ogres is a good idea.

Made another one, since you mentioned ogres. I didn't have any GW Ogors, so a Rockgut Troggoth had to fill in.

GW stone trolls have completely different proportions and size to GW ogres.

I know, I just wanted a larger model to compare to the Ugr. I know that the GW Ogor is closer to a Stormcast in size.

Picked up the cote set with the bonus boxes. I used the army builder and that seems to make about a 600 point force for each side.

The living world thing is what drew me in, nice to get in on the ground floor of something like that.

Good move! The core box is already a great deal, more so with the extra boxes.

You can get more points (around 750-800 per side) if adding command groups, unit upgrades, character options, etc... For 100 bucks it's so good.
The army builder isn't 100% updated currently, but you always have the free rules+army lists.

Gotta say this looks awesome.
Models wise, they are really nice (though from pictures I wasn’t sure on scale, as it didn’t seem to be in the site anywhere, till I saw the comparison pictures).

They would make amazing Empire models (and I assume Free Cities).
Dwarfs too but I’ve just started looking at their characters.

The rules and such I’m learning from the Beasts of War videos, they seem pretty good too

They are WAY out of scale to act as Cities of Sigmar/Empire miniatures. Which sucks, because I could definitely get people to buy them that way and have it act as a lure for the product line.

Oh are they? That’s a shame. I thought I’d seen they were similar. It’s Been really hard to find out the scale comparison for these. Thought I’d cracked it.

Either way they look awesome for this game at least.

Our fellow dakkanaut has a YT channel that does size comparison for minis, including Conquest. Check it and type Conquest in search - there are minis from all 4 armies there: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmCB2mWIxhYF8Q36d2Am_2A/videos
