Kev Dallimore has painted the new Oathmark Human Light Infantry as Rangers.

Man, playing primarily with miniatures that are more true scale (ASOIAF) has permanently altered how I see heroic proportion miniatures.

These guys look like absolute bobble heads to me.

It is kind of weird how they went with more heroic scale heads on their humans and more true scale heads on their orcs and goblins which have very small heads and would have benefitted from slightly larger heads imo.

That being said, I've really enjoyed many other Oathmark kits and wish them the best.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But once I get them painted and start playing with them I fall in love with them. I think heroic scale looks fine at tabletop distance. The prevalence of very close up pictures on the internet skews things I think, and especially if you're not a fantastic painter the exaggerated faces look more characterful generally.

But I think it's definitely a strong style choice they've made and I can see how it might be alienating.

I picked up their Elf Cavalry this weekend. Looking forward to building it for middle earth gaming.

I prefer the Heroic scaling and larger heads, as I find them easier to paint and see.

I have been using Oathmark/X-Grave heads on Fireforge bodies, as I dislike how small and unexagerated the heads are.

Finally Elf Heavy infantry! But I'll take thi orcs too

I've been holding back on getting their other orc&golblin sets because I want to mix and match them all, so when they release heavy orcs I'll probably get one of everything in the range.

I can't wait to see the Orc Heavy Infantry. I've gotten a lot of use out of the regular orcs.

No wolf pelt leader like on the box cover?

There's pictures of what appear to be the metal figures going around but I haven't found it on their social media yet. One of the metal models is the wolf-pelt captain with a sword and severed heads.
