The librarian is awesome. It's hard to dislike unhelmeted space marines when you make them look so damn good.

Stunning work on the terrain as well. The nice solid green on the ZM walls is very militaristic looking and the mini mural is a fantastic touch.

Just got another box of Space-Mortalis bits so I really thought I ought to put it together again and see how it looks! I think.....yes.....it's going to be awesome! it will take a lot of painting but I'm up for the challenge when i've the time to do it as it deserves!

I also finished Whaleys Red Scorpion marine test model, it's just base drying now so I'll try and hop back on and update that later today too

anyway here's some drool worthy board action! still another box to arrive.

I know! I'm keen to do it but I really don't want to rush it, so it's probably a summer job when it warms up and washes and paint dries super fast I've got some other walls and floors on the way with some other parts to add some actual height which I really want to see together!

here's the pics of the Red Scorps test model, I think it is a decent enough job but i'm still a little iffy on if it's good enough for Whaley, especially as I know I can paint much better for him and he deserves it! I can certainly paint marines and terminators like this but i'd be a bit concerned about tanks anyway it's not up to me and to be honest i'd be pretty keen if anyone else has any models they need painted at the moment, i've had a rough trot with my health again and needed to take time off without pay which sucks but that's why we save our coins isn't

I think some color on the gun casing would really help, since it's a very mute scheme to start with. Usually they are shown with red on their weapons, though I know that's a fancy pants bolter. I think he's begging for some freehand squad markings too.

Scorpion is looking good. Nothing to find complaint with.

The Librarian and the Sanctum on the previous page look great! The space-mortalis board is going to be a sight to behold when it's finished. I really like the Red Scorpion, the muted scheme is lovely.

For heaven's sake, rill out the bolter barrel... I agree, bolter casing could use a bit of color. I was thinking gold actually, but I'm not the one you need to satisfy.

I'll try and find a normal bolter to do a red casing on and see what it looks like. and then i'll drill the barrel :-)

Grey I just really don't think I do well, I can't find that zen place with it where I just know what i'm doing with it! on characters like Russ etc which are stand alone more or less i'm o.k because I can play around with it more, but for an army where they are repeated, I think my skills let me down especially as I mentioned I want to do a good job for people I paint for. especially Whaley

I primed a few models and started base coating the colour on them. Only issue was I started using a new black paint and it was terrible!!! it clogged and dried fast and obscured details and ruined a brush! so I very very nearly threw them all in the bits box and gave up! I really didn't want to do that so I started actually painting them to hopefully improve the overall look and give me some motivation to keep painting them up, so far the red quarters done and i'm more relaxed with them already! hopefully when I get to the black metals I don't ruin them

That's really cool, great way to add some flavour to the board.

Termies are looking good too. I honestly couldn't pick up any obscured areas, so I think perhaps the primer issue isn't as bad as it seemed.

That forklift is lovely, the colour of it gives me a real Aliens vibe from it even though it's totally different. I can't fault the Cataphractii, the red is very, very nice!

Weirdly it was a Vallejo product they're usually spot on but the game colour I used just was awkward to paint with, it had a real tendency to be sort of sticky which I found odd. I made sure I shook the hell out of it too.

Termis are looking like a solid start, despite the bad prime. I like the Wall-e looking forklift. How big is it?

I think the termies are coming along great. Just wondering if there’s anything to help push the gryphon idea more with them. I mean the claws are great, but perhaps using the Ravenwing bike sprue wing poles on the back of at least one to tie in more of the visual. Just an idea feel free to toss it in the bin with that black paint.

Monkeytroll you dag mate, thanks guys for the positive vibes! i'll be pottering around with my own models until I get a new commission, i'm meeting a local guy who bought the Nurgle I did off my friend the other day and he's got a Mortarion he wants done! and other than that i'm pretty quiet to be honest.

So i'll use this lull in proceedings as a dear diary i've been pretty crook with my lungs again *sigh* ended up in hospital a few times in the last month and needed to take 2 weeks unpaid leave Whoooo! 'not' so of course i've had the odd struggle with the old mind thinking overdrive and making me a bit flat. But i'm back at work today and had a good shift with no problems and i've managed to make some progress on the house renovations insofar as painting walls go since that's not too taxing on the old air sacks fingers crossed I'll have the home finished by christmas with new carpet and curtains left to do then a good clean and detail and I can relax (until my wife decides to buy another house )

On the hobby front, as I mentioned I've not got anything on for others so it's just my Howling Griffons on the table. I do need to find a bolter and paint that red casing to see if Whaley wants me to do a few squads of Scorps? and i've a guy who wants me to paint a few goliath trucks for GSC? but he's got to build them first so until I get anything it'll be yellow and red for a while

Sorry to hear that your lungs are giving you grief, Nerdy. I had a punctured lung once and it was the probably the most sucky experience of my life. 3 or 4 weeks of not being able to breathe properly was the pits. I can only imagine that actual long term lung issues must just be an absolute bastard of an existence.

Those 30 tactical marines are shaping up really well. You sure can blast your way through an excessive amount of stuff when you set your (air)brush to it.
