I'm just glad they actually gave KoS a unique special rule outside what all the other greater daemons got. Any rule. At all. It isn't just a line of stats anymore! I probably still won't bring one, but it's the principle of the matter.

for competitive I agree, but at least the stratagems, psypowers and warlord traits will help them not be complete garbage for people playing more casually with friends who just like the models. I'd say less garbage and more "functional but mediocre"

I do, I'm just trying to stay on the positive because I'm looking forward to painting and using a LoC this year.
knowing what we know now from the codex reviews and other leaks, if you were to run one or kairos, what set up and equipment/relics would you give one?

Yeah i can relate. I have Greater Daemons for Khorne, Tzeentch, and Nurgle, as I just love them as center piece models. Saying that, hopefully they listen to the community response and who knows maybe get some more point drops or some kind of stat modification in upcoming updates. Not out of the realm of possibility i hope.

With the deepstrike stratagem, khorne bloodthirsters went from Meh to "oh gak". Especially the rage one. His ability to double his swings (according to the leaks) makes him nasty to deal with. I don't see any of the bloodthirsters getting a point reduction. I'm more worried about them getting a price hike.
Also.. Yay for flesh hounds being cheaper now than last edition. Now if only we could brush the dust off of the blood crushers!

I hope LoC get something! Also I'd love blood crushers to get a boost or points drop. Awesome models, but I'm good with hounds cause at least i own those.
Also considering skull cannons now, which i never have before so that's something.

So the skullcannon got 47 pts cheaper, went from D3 to D6 shots, from 36'' to 48'', from AP1 to AP2, ignores cover...
HOLY. FUDGEMUFFINS.

I was responding to the "hopefully they listen to the community and we see a price drop" comment. Basically, I don't see them FAQing them to be cheaper due to community feedback is what I meant

Oh i know. I'm speaking about possible updates in the future. Chapter Approved drastically changed how I went forward with my Death Guard army for example.

Guess I better get him painted as well these double swing BTs with the crown Relic are going to be tossing some NASTY amounts of damage. Finally a good way to deal with hordes!

Sorry I'm not going to spend 15 minutes typing up and jumping around the video for all the special chars because you're too lazy to just watch it yourself hah
It would take a long time to jump around the video and type out all the characters but here is what I recall from Nurgle:
Rortigus - very unfortunately, has a mediocre trait (4+ for 1 mortal wound aura like typhus)
Epidemius - does +1 to wound rolls (LOL considering you want to keep this guy away!)
Horticus - 4+ when losing a wound deals a mortal wound to enemy unit dealing it (somewhat okay considering he has 9 wounds and can heal himself 1 wound a turn, but still not as good as on a GUO)

12 Blood crushers can now deep strike and charge on 3d6 with rerolls. That would hit like a ton of bricks and could catch a lot of units in a multi charge

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I am kind of horrified the point costs haven't dropped for most units. I don't get how they think a single Fiend of Slaanesh should cost more than a terminator. Or a 5++ Greater Daemon is worth taking over a Daemon Prince?

About only herde specific help it is is against non horde it might be overkill. Otherwise if it's good against horde it's awesome against non horde!

I really do wish they'd waited until after the Khorne and Slaanesh Renaissances to do this book. It just feels part-way done, like an Index-style stopgap, with a "Codex" label.
As someone was correct to point out to me, it's not just Slaanesh but Khorne feeling the squeeze of old legacy models. No plastic HQ on Blood Crusher, ancient Hounds, no plastic Herald. The new Bloodthirster is great, and it 100% makes sense that it was the first new GD they made given it's popularity, but it wasn't followed-up with anything.
Slaanesh is in a similar boat, minus the plastic GD (which I'm sure will look fantastic, given how great the three other plastic GDs are). How good would a plastic Fiend box be? And an actual plastic Herald would be nice (and it'd probably have more options than this old thing).
Revamping Chaos to the point where they can be full plastic releases must be a laborious task, but this Daemons book seems really premature.
