They're also not "40k models", in that they're not primarily sold as gaming pieces for Warhammer 40,000. They're bigger than the non-Primaris Space Marines models, and are basically display pieces.

They have. These were released in September 2017, so they are newer than most Primaris models who were released a couple of months earlier.
The Series 2 terminators have just been released in Japan as well, another set of regular space marine models Automatically Appended Next Post: AndrewGPaul wrote:They're also not " 40k models", in that they're not primarily sold as gaming pieces for Warhammer 40,000. Ah right, they aren't new regular space marines 'cause reasons'
They are slightly taller than regular marines, they have lengthened legs and slightly lengthened torsos. They are about the same height as a deathwatch marine. This doesn't make them not 40k models, this just represents changing paradigms of space marine model design in the GW studio.
They are entirely usable in 40k.
And they are a new non-primaris space marine release

And there's no way he didn't know that, hence disingenuous. I await the day that Marines get an actual new release.

Now you are being disingenuous HBMC
They are obviously 40k models, and both sets are newer than wave 1 Primaris.
There was another non-primaris marine release as well after the Primaris in December 2017, Sirae Karagon and Casan Sabius, and the Culln Leviathan Dreadnought. I guess they don't count 'cause they are FW and cause reasons'?

Gabriel Angelos is also post-primaris. I guess two squads and nearly a dozen SM characters (adding blind bag captains/ancients) aren't 'actual' release, because, uhhh...

Confused, aren't series 1 meant to be on pre order this weekend? Or is it next? Nothing on the GW site, when set to NZ, Aus or the UK. And element games have them up for pre order but "not available". Most odd.
Edit: think I was being thick, these appear to be exclusive to GW stores and select other suppliers.

one of the £3 novella series
A Space Marine Heroes novella
When the Crimson Slaughter conquer the isle of St. Capilene, it falls to Sergeant Sevastus and his Ultramarines to defeat the traitors and their daemonic allies.
READ IT BECAUSE
You've seen the amazing Space Marine Heroes miniatures – now read about their exploits in a brand new Ultramarines story by the author of War of Secrets.
THE STORY
The coastal Isle of St Capilene is haunted, and not only by the ghosts of the past. It has been conquered by the Crimson Slaughter, a renegade chapter of Space Marines,
driven to butchery by the never ceasing echoes of their victims. While the toll of a daemonic bell from the archipelago’s cathedral offers the Heretic Astartes a measure of peace, it drives the mortal populace into madness and mutation. Captain Thassarius of the Ultramarines – the noblest of all Humanity’s superhuman brotherhoods, storms the island to slay these traitors and silence the daemonic bell forever. But when the initial assault leads to disaster, Sergeant Sevastus and his squad of hard-bitten Tactical Marines are sent to test their theory that stealth and precision can win out where speed and belligerence has failed. But Sevastus’ squad numbers only ten, and ranged against them are not only hundreds of bloodthirsty heretics and mutants, but monsters from beyond reality itself...

Element Games has them on the website but disabled preorders until they can speak to GW on Monday as whisky they have been assigned stock it appears they are limited in how much they can order.

Just a note...these are not true blind boxes...each box has a code on the side identifying which model is inside:
NG1 18153 Brother Maeklus
NG1 18151 Brother Sanyctus
NG1 18150 Brother Phaello
NG1 18149 Brother-Captain Donato
NG1 18145 Brother Ebellius
NG1 18144 Brother-Sergeant Victorno
So if you have a certain figure you want, it is findable. Also, Yodobashi Camera carries these in the GW section.
I have no idea how to attach images, so I put them in my gallery

More as a reply to ValentineGames but doesn't the new board game contain the Series 1 models that aren't part of this release? In other words, all of the models are available just not in the same way they were in Japan.

By new board game I assume you mean the US exclusive one?
Which I believe only has 2 of the 4 we aren't allowed to have.
Never mind that was already answered.

I don't think they ever said they would never be available everywhere; just that they were only on sale in Germany (not "the EU") and the USA at present.

The people that wanted them aren’t our target demographic though really, so it’s hard to correspond to over here.
This style of collecting is very big in Japan, much of Asia, and they have just ported it over to us.
(As have quite a few blind buy sets and things, but we’ve never had it as big and crazy as over there)

Blind bags are only superficially random, you can find a code on the back of the packaging in small print and make sure you never get any duplicates.

Well lots of people asked for them, and the Japanese release was in partnership with a Japanese firm so there may well have been issues about releasing the elsewhere at all
(in the same way that the FFG stuff like chaos in the old world can't be just released by GW now FFG has lost the licence)
so a blind buy release of some, and use in a boardgame of the rest might have been the best GW could do

You might want to go to closest toy store, there are literally hundreds of blind bag ranges there, of everything, starting on LEGO figs to small MLP ponies.
One country, you say?
I don't like this trend and probably won't buy these, especially seeing how stupidly low chance of getting the captain is, but pretending it's limited to Japan is quite silly... Automatically Appended Next Post: By the way, chances of getting each one:
