As that’s issue 6’s release date.
It may be sooner than that, some of the partworks I've done have sent out the subscriber issues the same week as the first issue in the batch goes on sale in the shops, others it's been in the middle of the group of issues, though more commonly it appears to be basically random with the delivery varying by weeks every month, though they're always very efficient at taking the payments regularly!

This.
Anyone riding it out for the full 80 Issue run is very unlikely to stop there, or wait for completion before buying bits and bobs off the shelf.
The actual cost involved for Hachette is pretty minimal. There’s not a great deal to each of the issues individually, so the main sink is the cost of the models. Now there’s clearly an arrangement there, but we’ve nowhere near enough info or knowledge to really speculate. Suffice to say, they won’t be running this at a loss by design.
As for GW? This should bring new blood to no only their website, but their stores. People invested in the Partwork are then shown and tempted by the whole range - and not just Marines and Deathguard.
To use myself as an example. I’m keen to actually paint this collection. And to game with it, I’ll be needing the Deathguard Codex. That alone is at least one can of Deathguard Green, one can of Ultramarine Blue (unless I do a different chapter), and £25 for the Codex. That’s £50 or so I wasn’t previously planning to chuck GW’s way. Once I’ve got the DG Codex, who knows? I may just stick with the collection’s contents, or decide to add to it. Automatically Appended Next Post: Aeneades wrote:
It only official launched in the UK 13 days so you are looking at a wait of at least several months before it launches anywhere else.
It may not be released in the US at all.
Whilst Hachette does operate internationally, previous collections (for me, Dredd and 2000AD) haven’t been given a US release. Oz, NZ and Europe yes.
Of course, it’s arguable that 2000AD as a stable isn’t especially well know in the US (it’s very, very British. Quite different to Marvel and D.C.), so the market there would be a harder sell. Games Workshop (whilst also very, very British) is a different kettle of fish in terms of worldwide knowledge etc.
Never say never, I guess. But I wouldn’t hold your breath.

I believe you mean Death Guard Green base paint, and in addition to the three Plague Marines you get six d6 and a small fold out battlemat made from thin card.

Snap! mines not arrived yet either though it could be because im starting on issue 2 (i hope) as with you paid a couole of weeks ago but no show yet.
+1 for not received yet, thought I was the only one.
I'm going to give it till the weekend before chasing.
I believe as per faq or comment somewhere you have to wait 28 days to bring that up though Automatically Appended Next Post: Tavis75 wrote:Danny76 wrote:As to delivery two for issues 3-6, pretty much 28days time from tomorrow. (Edit: from Wednesday 12th)

That’s great if so, I was thinking that’s the way they should do it so subscribers are better off than people who order weekly ones.

Wow I was visiting family and walked into a rural newsagent that had six copies of issue one having not sold any. So I bought them all. One for me and one for my each member of my gaming group as a gift... they were all very pleased when I told them.

Good work on the sharing. Issue one is still showing up in places, my local Asda had two copies in on Monday morning, they were gone by the time I showed up for my shift Tuesday night.
I think the tutorials on playing in issue 2 are great for beginners, a really basic outline with clear pointers of depth to come in future issues.

Local supermarkets here don't even have space for it, was thinking of a few more of the first two issues but its not worth the time to wander round to find them.
its on subscription, they have yet to take for the first two though so guessing they won't be arriving this week...

I picked up my initial copy of issue 1 in Forbidden Planet. Grabbed issue 2 in there yesterday and they had a stack more of issue 1 so grabbed another copy of that.
Spoke to the guy in there and he said as far as he knew they'd be stocking it for the entire run in store so that's probably a good avenue for people to check for it. I'm not getting every issue - don't want issue 4 already for example but I do want issue 3. Just going to grab them as I fancy.

first delivery today, issues 1 & 2, apparently they will be taking the DD in a few weeks which is odd but whatever.
would be nice to have an idea in one package when the next one is due, a minor point though.
All arrived without the huge backing card which also makes sense, the little mould line removal tool is actually pretty good, better than expected, a knife is still easier for fiddly ones but this will be used a fair bit.
don't care about the glue, I prefer a brush on liquid one, new cutters are useful though.
now have three death guard of my very own (Mrs L isn't having them so there...)

I think going forward we will know when the next is due each time as a regular pattern will emerge when they are 4 per delivery

Good on you, hope you stick around - this forum can be a great source of inspiration and aspiration. You are exactly the person that GW is targeting with this part-work so I hope it proves fruitful. Ultimately, the more new people who get involved in our shared love of geekery, the better and richer the game will be.
