Looks like the Armiger is on an oval to me, but that may well be an optical illusion with the Knight in landscape and the Armiger portrait but I am willing to accept that I may be wrong. If I could get the 360 degree view thing to work properly on the NZ site I would know.
Edit: having watched the unboxing it is indeed the Onager sized round.
Either way I will be getting this set.

I'm really tempted to get a box or two of this to start both a small Necron and AdMech force, most likely for the new Kill Team. I really don't need two more armies as already have a GSC army completely unassembled and unpainted (along with at least 3 years worth of painting for other games and more Kickstarters on the way).. It is extremely tempting though as it's such a good deal.

So why is it only available in new Zealand right now? Can't pull it up as an American right now.

Pre-orders are opened at 10am local time every Saturday. Here in the UK, for example, we won't see the pre-orders for another 11 hours, and the US will be later still
It's been that way for ages: a lot of people get into the habit of looking at the NZ site on a Friday night to see what's coming up in our own time zone on Saturday.
Just don't look at the price...

The thing that irritates me most about this is that I won't be selling any of the contents. I could use these Necrons to bolster my army, I want the Knights just because, and I can use the AdMech guys as conversion bait for Necromunda.
So much for mitigating costs.

I'm hoping that the Mechanicus aesthetic the Armigers have with their heads and Pauldrons is simply because the box is Ad Mech vs Necrons, and that the actual Armiger kit will have pieces for non-Mechanicus aligned Armigers.

I keep harping on this but more and more I think this is because the specific 'variants' are going to be fluffed to be tied to specific aligned Houses.

So pretty bad really. If you compare to a contemptor dread you're faster and have D3 shots on your melta weapon, but worse skills and an invulnerable that stops working in melee.
A solid 50-60 points overcosted.

Well, I guess I am going to run it with a Heavy Stubber for my Ad Mech list. Agreed on cost though. Way over costed.
The crappy thing is, because they are so over costed, I have to chip away at my Ad Mech stuff in order to fit them.

I think I'd still take the Melta if taking this unit: It's a bump to the reliability of a D3 shot weapon at closeish range, and with the model's speed you'll not struggle much making it that close.
Also on a more intense effort to cross analysis against a contemptor dreadnought with a multi-melta I'd say that it's more 40-50 points overcosted rather than 50 to 60. It could still pay for itself if it played against the right list and rolled hot on number of hits, but is definitely a bit pricey.
