Subject: Re:CMON N&R - Next KS Zombicide DCeased 14th November
ASOIAF Tactics: Battle of the Trident - Skirmish level game - small warbands some new minis - same scale as main game. KS next year.
ASOIAF - full grown Drogon Mini (Huge) - part of Tactics KS Cthulhu Dark Providence
Degenesis Clan Wars
Zombicide 2nd Edition Pariz expansion
The Dead Keep
Zombicide Dark Age RPG Blood Rage RPG G0W Kratos and Atreus Minis
I'll be curious to see what the "crossover" for the Dark Knights Metal stuff is. I think all they need is some updated cards but if they want to add more Dark Knights I'm in.
I like the hero reps for the base game so far, i'll be interested to see who makes it into the Kickstarter as add-ons/stretch goals for the game
Battle of the Trident is presumably just a starter set naming convention and the game is going to cover other periods (kinda has to to incorporate that Drogon).
- Not a one for one retelling they are free to take some liberties but there are some licencing inclusions and exclusions required
- Can't play as the "Zombie" heroes
- retail version won't have anything exclusive or not covered in the KS but will have alt. sculpts.
- No giant mini didn't really fit
- Dark Knights Metal - crossover cards included in pledge hero and zombie versions - miniatures not available as an add on - retail only
- Daily unlocks

Well ASOIAF tactics will have me jumping on that. The only reason I never got into the rank and flank game is because I don't have the time to play/paint a rank and flank game with my other games. Really looking forward to it.

Really? The units are between 4 and 12 models, and a standard game size has about 5-6 units and takes like and hour and half. That's a not a large time or model investment. You could even go the route of all monsters for a 6 model army, or a full cav force and have like 24 models to paint.

Maybe for you it isn’t. Games being an hour and a half isn’t bad, though to be fair most of them I have seen played take closer to 2 hours (which again isn’t too bad). As far are painting going I get about 60-70 miniatures painted a year, I have very little free time and am not a fast painter. I also play three other games which take the majority of that painting time.
I just haven't really heard that said about this game before, but fair play. I feel as if the amount of models needed is one of the strong points of the game personally.
If two infantry units take 8,3 hours you are looking at 25hours for a 6 unit army and that means 12-13 weeks if you paint for 2 hours per week (like, half an hour every second day) - 3 months until you finish an army at this pace! That's a lot of time.

I understand that some people don't want to paint an entire army for ASOIAF.
In a typical game you would have 7 "units" but three of them are usually single character models that play on the tactics board (not on battlefield). There are many characters you want to have painted up for ASOIAF game, and I enjoy having characters to lavish a little more time on as a reward for finishing combat units.
No matter what people prefer, I'm glad to see the enthusiasm around ASOIAF Tactics, as it will bring more eyeballs and units to my absolute favorite game of all time!
It’s off to a slow start for comic book licence, for comparison Marvel Zombies took $3.1m in its first day DCeased will probably take a fifth of that (currently at $538k) it’s closer to White Death @ $690k.
Just the one pledge level at $130 as there is no Zombie mode like X-Men Resistance. Base pledge is probably worth it with the added SG but anything else is just cheaper at retail when VAT and shipping is added.
I am finding it really hard to get motivated with this one. Marvel had put in restrictions (no zombie Spider-Man or any Punisher models for example) but DC not allowing a zombie mode already reduces the content massively.
I wasn’t a fan of the original Dceased comic but did enjoy the later spin offs and sequels more which I suspect are going to get paid addons later which may make me slightly more interested (especially if there is a Shadowpact expansion) but not sure will be enough for me to sign up with the postage and VAT costs.
Frustratingly, most of the Stretch goals so far appear to be for characters who did not feature in Dceased when there are so many characters from the actual comics which they should be including instead (assume it’s dictated from DC are can’t see CMON wanting to prioritise Miss Martian over Poison Ivy for example).

It really seems that DC is wanting to push the newer heroes and characters (which is understandable given the poor reception of all of their movies in the last 6 years or so) for exposure, but those are not the heroes that people who have stable jobs and can afford these luxuries want to see. A lot of people want the usual characters (Batman Family, JSA, Legion, Superman Family etc) and instead we are seeing Young Justice, New Teen Titans and the like.
Of course, it is also likely that CMON is getting the contractually required but more unknown characters out of the way first (granted, Miss Martian has been around for over a decade) but I think the realy money will be in expansions of the classics. That and I want to really large Blackest Night expansion...
Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?
I picked up the Marvel one and most of the expansions but not much grabbing me here - even the Wonder Woman sculpt is a bit meh. Is Wonder girl actually about 6 - not that familiar with character beyond tv show
I AM A MARINE PLAYER
"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos
"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001
Backed for the inevatable stretch goals, but I'm also not terribly excited by this one.
I'm definitely one of those people that mostly want the usual characters, that's about all I care about on this one. Young justice was a good show though, I'm OK with Miss Martian as long as we get Conner Kent and Red Robin.
We've already got hero version of Aquaman as a stretch goal, so I'm guessing we'll see hero versions of the zombie Superman and Green Lantern by the end too.
I'm finding this one pretty meh to be honest. I've never been a huge DC guy, so I have a slightly-beyond-surface-level knowledge of their cast of characters at best, so with no Zombie mode and a huge cast of "who?/silly/mid" characters I'm really not feeling this one.
I expect we'll get hero versions of all the characters by the end. At least we'll have "Superhero" type cards to use with The Seven from this...
There’s some great lesser known characters in this for fans.
I had actually forgotten all about it till I got an email saying ends soon..
So for the UK it says tax to add (and postage if course).
So those who’ve backed a Cmon before from here.
It’s $130 plus tax (20%?) plus est. $47 shipping (plus tax?), plus the cost of any expansions which will also have tax and extra shipping costs presumably.
I'm all for the fanservice deep cuts, but I do think to hit the widest audience possible that they need as many of the more well known characters and those known by people less into the DCU as possible - especially in living/hero mode since WB seems to have disallowed a Zombie mode.
It’s just a shame their Kickstarters get so expensive by the end.
And that’s with just the actual price it lists on there (without additional tax and postage).
It’s a lot of stuff even just Base with all the exclusive extras. But realistically you’ll barely if ever use it all anyway..
Automatically Appended Next Post: Interestingly. Black Plague looking back was $15 postage from German hub. And it’s now $47 from a UK hub which is closer.
Mad postage in a little under 10 years.
Also appears they didn’t add VAT back then.
Not that expect those kinds of prices still.
Very torn on backing.

Zombicide is one of the few games where I do (very slowly) end up adding it all into one big pile, so it's usually worth it to me. Most of these DC heroes are a big ol' case of "who?" to me, so this is less exciting then the Marvel one where I at least have a passing idea of most characters as I used to read the comics years ago before the MCU, but I guess it's not too different to the random Zombicide characters of the other series.
At worst I can paint them up like background characters from The Boys or Invincible.
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE – CLASH FOR ETERNIA will be available to UK, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East next year and CMoN will be running a Gamefound in January for the reprint with 2 new characters. There will not be a retail release.
I'm VERY surprised that CMON hasn't dropped their ALL-IN pledge amount for DCeased.
I think if they end up not doing an All-In, I'm probably going to just stick with the base pledge and buy the rest in two years at local retail.
I know this campaign isn't running as fast as others have in the past, but that seems to be mainly down to "No Zombie Mode" and DC being far less casual based than Marvel.
