I think they cranked a little too hard on the FOMO in this campaign. I'm going to stick with the $80 pledge plus the Hedge Knights and try to swallow my collector impulse on the rest of the stuff. For context I'm a huge ASOIAF TMG fan, and basically spend all my hobby money and time on CMON projects. I typically save up and back at the " get everything" level.

It is just too expensive an all in for a game I'm currently buying mostly for cool alternative sculpts for ASOIAF TMG.

I think it's a nice deal for $80. $70 expansion boxes add up QUICK though. Since I've historically received really decent shipping costs with CMON, I'm willing to keep rolling the dice on that and get the Gameplay All-In. It's basically what everything would cost in a Miniature Market sale, plus a terrain box. So what the heck.

In response to the start of this campaign, I've been looking at youtube videos on CMON's previous offerings and I have a very important question... Is it pronounced SEE-mon or Come-on? Also, any Ankh backers who have an extra Taweret hippo guardian you want to sell to a sword and sorcery RPG fan?

From memory, it's supposed to be 'come-on' (i.e. c'mon) but they couldn't even get their own employees to be consistent with it (including game devs on streams) so they seemingly gave up and just accepted that the majority seem to default to 'see-mon', even if it's a poor facsimile for the actual acronym.

In terms of Tactics I just can't really justify it having built a basket and seen what tax and shipping is going to do. I'd be all over the Dunk and Egg set but don't think there's an option to back to just get add-ons.

I've always pronounced it Cool Mini Or Not when spoken.
The acronym doesn't feel clear enough to use, regardless of how one would say it.

I want to know what's happening with the new Dust. The Dust graphic novels with models and ingame rules should be received in next month or so but the campaign still hasn't been announced.

I'd love for there to be a successful long term sustainable DUST game going forward!

Degenisis is a post apocalyptic RPG from Europe that was really popular at Gencon years ago. Super expensive as the core set was like $200 but it's one of the nicest looking RPGs I own and that $200 gets you two massive books (rules and settings).

I'm curious about the CMoN game, as I enjoyed reading the RPG books, but I think I'd rather have Dust as well

Yup, you apparently got two with each basic box in your pledge (re: Ankh's Tareret) but in a separate stretch goals box. I have no idea if you can use two simultaneously in a game but figured I'd ask.

Personally I have only ever heard/used "see-mon". The company came out and officially said that its pronounced "C'mon" (come-on) years ago, but then even their own designers continue to say "see-mon".

Its like when the CEO of Nvidia pronounced the '4080 ti' as "4080 TIE" when the rest of the world had been saying "x080 T.I." (tee-eye) for decades. Like, I get that that's how you want it pronounced, but I dont think this ones going to catch on.

I see it as the gif “ghiff” vs “jiff” argument, a debate so petty that it demands no compromise.


Anyway, I’ll see if I still have a Taweret to spare when I can get into storage during the week.

I like one of the minis shown so far (the boy with the dog) as well as some of the art that likely will be minis... but, yeah, the pee goblin in full armor is a bit much. Is this an existing property for CMON?

No. I follow Paul on FB and it's new (he showed off the cover art last fall) though with how much his art has influenced some games it's easy to think it's based off of Confrontation/Cadwellon or something similar.

The "pee pose" is a classic from some of those games.

Never been much of a Paul Bonner fan, but I do love Zombicide Black Plague and this is clearly an iteration of that game system. All the weapons follow BP layout, many of the skills shown on the character card are the same. It's not completely the same, characters have 11 hit points instead of 3 and there's event cards instead of a spawn deck, some kind of green potion resource

I would expect a crossover deck as an addon like Massive Darkness did. Could be interesting

Huh. Dead Keep seems to be a play on Zombicide (or looks like it takes a lot of its mechanices from Zcide?). I don't play much anymore, but loved that game, and really like his art style.

Color me interested.

Oh man, all these cool projects in rapid succession...at another time I might have backed both Digenesis and The Dead Keep, but with ASOIAF Tactics just finishing I'm spent out for the next couple months.

I am also in this state of conflict. I have a Paul Bonner art book that really upped my painting for a while (until I went back to being a lazy sod) and would love to paint up some PB designed/inspired minis... but yeah, Dark Age.
