I really, really want Brazil out now, how Neymar has managed to go this long without someone kneecapping him boggles my mind.
No opportunity. As soon as anyone gets near he's rolling around on the floor like a baby having a tantrum.
Shame about Japan. However it doesn't show much for the Belgium teams tactical acumen if it takes them an hour to work out that you have a significant height advantage.
"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. " - V

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

I have no idea why the Germans are rewarding failure. In '08, 10, and '12, nothing or nobody was stopping that Spain team.
But in recent years, Low has criminally underachieved with the players at his disposal. They should have won Euro 2016, and the very recent failure is unforgivable in my book for a German manager.
He should have gotten the boot.

Löw did lead Germany to victory in the 2014 World Cup and 2017 Confederations Cup. Those are quite impressive achievements. I imagine it is difficult to find someone qualified enough and willing to replace Löw. Besides, keeping a coach is good for stability and order within a team. Und Ordnung muss ja sein!

Russia are doing well in this world cup, because the threat of 10 years in Siberia should they fail, hangs above them
The German football association has no such option
Agreed, he won in 2014, and that's a great achievement, but in the cut-throat world of competitive football, things move on, and nobody cares about yesterday.
To be fair to the Germans, the logical successor to Low won't be leaving Liverpool any time soon, but the Germans have never been short of quality coaches.
Low has to win Euro 2020.

Last time we tried to get that option, it was a long cold winter and some people stayed longer than they expected.
I agree that Kloppo would be perfectly fit for the job.
