Don't think I like it quite as much as the others, but I still like it. Love the advertising style.

I really can't see any parts in common on these vehicles. They all seem to be totally unique kits, which is kind of weird in my mind. Would have thought the obvious way to do things would be a couple of kits with lots of options.

I wonder if there actually will be anything in the codex that can be represented by old buggy, wartrakk and skorcha models or whether those are going to become index-only.

EDIT: I'm totally going to convert one back into a flyer.

I like it! Looks like some sort of automatic rokkit launchers for weapons? I wonder if it's sort of a return of the hopsplat gun/splatta Kannon?

Article mentioned Rivet Kannon and Shokk Rifle, so we know what the Kustom Boosta-Blasta and Shokkjump Dragsta have for primary weapons now at least in terms of their names. I wonder what is being shot through the Shokk Rifle?

Goddamn, GW is really gonna drain my wallet with all these awesome new buggy models. At this point the rules can be Ogryn poop for all I care, those models are just too goddamn cool to not have.

Almost quaranteed that the old buggy etc will be retired from sale and with that out of the codex.

These aren't really redone buggies as in completely new units. Which actually fits GW style a lot.

On the flip side maybe they have euro per point ratio bit more bearable with beefier stats Buggies were pretty bad on that area...Getting army of these might not require new mortage!

I think they might even be ETB kits. The death guard blight hauler is similar in size and model complexity, so they might turn out to be a pile of mono-build ETB kits for 20 bucks each.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

This release is looking great. At the moment I'm feeling like building a new list entirely around the new models. I don't exactly have a shortage of Ork models but these may well rejuvenate my enthusiasm for the faction that's waned massively since the release of the edition. Really looking forward to the Codex!

looks like definitely a new model.
maybe this is the squig buggie
and with it looking like a normal vehicle that means the squigs are either in 2 spots
1-a back catapult that launches maybe bombsquigs (would be so sweet if they hit on 2s like they do for tankbustas)
2-are actually the wheels (we dont see the wheels of the buggy) or they are in a hamster wheel in the back for propulsion

edit-the last pic might be the mek shop, i see gas cans and its defiantly a type of structure.
edit 2-man, i might do what that fallout fan did with bottle caps, if i collect enough large teeth then maybe i can pay for my codex "da proppah way" (how many teeth you think it costs for a codex?)

Speed Freeks first and "next up" Codex, so probably Speed Freeks preorder on 13.10. and Codex on 20.10. That sucks, I have a tournament starting on 26th. I waited for 15 months for a codex and it's late by one fething week. The irony is real.

Maybe the 'squig buggy' is more of a squig-shaped buggy than a squig-propelled / controlled / launching buggy?

All of the new Buggies look incredible which pose a problem for my wallet and my time.

I am still concerned about the 32 based Boyz and whether GW decide to make it a mandatory change.

No matter how you cut it, you'll always need Boyz, regardless of how good and beautiful these new Buggies are. I'm really not keen on re-basing my entire collection.

I'm guessing these + the Squig Buggy + Mek shop are the only new units we're getting? Great for me as an Evil Sunz player but I can see why others' want infantry and new Ghaz too. Particularly as it looks as though Slaanesh are getting an entire revamp.

you do not always need boyz, in 7th I was having fun with an all biker/ buggy army. I am hoping that becomes viable again, it was quite fun... not high level tournament winning strong, but made for some good times.

Pretty much as expected. I feel your pain though. That timing sucks. I have bit better as at least my apoc game is on release date but that's hectic process to learn rules and make up 6k army list!

Wonder if I could manage to get one or two new vehicles assembled and painted in a week.

As far as bases, hopefully GW doesnt make us go up to 32, but if they do it will probably a game wide change instead of ork specific. Not that that makes it any better really.

The new buggys look great, hopefully the rules are good to follow. Im for sure getting the warboss trike thing, but youre right I wish we got some new infantry (maybe new nob models) and a new Ghaz (can even keep the same sculpt, just scale him up a bit and make him plastic). Oh well, im still happy as long as the rules/points are good in the codex. I dont really want a OP IG/IK/DE type codex, just a decent one like tyranids with good internal balance.

So far they are "use what you want" including reply today on FB. Of course what tournaments are is up to the organizer. As it is if they wanted they could say "boyz are on 40mm bases" and it's rebase or not play.

Hopefully not many tournaments are going to be so anal about that.

Oh and what's with the idea that tyranids have good internal balance? They don't and it's been going worse and worse with the power creep as they need to load up on the good units to keep up with.

I guess "good internal balance" might be a stretch, but if youre not playing in a tournament they have a lot of interesting units that all have a useful role. My main opponent is tyranids and he has a lot of different interesting tricks and strategies he can pull out every game

Oh absolutely. I ran a primary Biker list in 7th and it was glorious.

Sorry I was unclear, I'm talking about this edition and in particular with the way that CPs work. I must be one of the only Orks taking less than a hundred Boys to a typical game? Things are......challenging....lol

If Boyz become less strong relative to our other options, I can see us dropping to the 60 minimum to get the CPs. But that's still 60 models we'll have to re-base. And the bikes. Ugh. At least we don't have to re-base Grots though!

Man I'm going to get every Buggy so far and if the Squig Buggy is of the same calibre as the rest then I'll have to get that too. I'll probably skip the Mek shop. The Trike boss is a must but I'm not sure if I'm ready to let go of Zhad. Contrary to what tneva claimed he's actually pretty well painted.

Balance-wise I'm the same as you, as long as we have a few viable options that suit different playstyles I'll be happy.

I like all the buggies, but I cant justify buying like, 3 of every single one as I assume theyll perform best units given theyll probably be pretty fragile. ill have to be selective at the beginning at least on which ones I get. For sure the boss though.

And different playstyles is a must. I loved our 4th edition codex where green tide, kan wall, nob bikers, BW blitz were all viable and it was impossible for your opponent to know what youre bringing ahead of time.

We know it's not happening man (as much as I'd love it too). Not only has every other bike remained a fast attack choice but there was a community article that referenced the Speed Freeks box being a "warlord away from an outrider detachment" when they previewed the boss on trike model.

It's one thing to not convert, because of the work and cost. It's another to not convert, because you want to be beardy.

Yeah, no. How about we just let our one good unit not get a fething nerf and we just bring up the rest of the codex to where boyz are at? god forbid we have more then one option!

on the long war podcast they leaked 2 strategums., 3 cp to attack again with a unit and 1 cp to make a unit have "eavy choppas" and make them -1 ap for the battleround. ideally that means you could charge, eavy choppa for 1 cp to get -1ap, than spend 3 points for another round of swinging at -1 ap. without mor knowledge we cannot say for sure, but seems like even imperial knights would fear a 30 boys squad charging it there. best case if waagh banner is there, hittign on 2's with +1 attack for 30 boys, we will say no ghaz for +1 attack as no clue if that will stay and very situational. 4 attacks per model (choppa plus over 20 boys) 29x4 116 attacks bitting on 2's 96 hits,. wounding on 6's 15.4 wounds at -1ap, 7.7 wounds, plus nob's claw (4 attacks on 3's, 2.6 hits, 1.76 wounds, 1.46 get throuh so 1.46 D6 wounds, call it likely 3-4 wounds) then pay 3 cp to do it again and you knocked off 20 wounds
