Primaris and Captain are 2 separate Keywords so I guess it works which is good

It's a shame we're getting more news on Vigilus than CA. I think they're being super tight lipped cause I think last year it was spoiled weeks ahead of release

I don't like that Mortal Wound stratagem, it counter intuitively works better on weapons that are not really meant to be anti-tank weapons.

Also, if I understand correctly, the relic only affects those specific units that are given they keyword. I think I 'd rather take a lieutenant.

The best part about the relic is not needing to take a Lieutenant though. Assuming Centurions get anything out of Chapter Approved, it can make an interesting castle for sure.

Might even see the return of drop pod centurions. I can't quite read the strategem, does it not include aggressors also? Christ alive if anyone got double tapped by them that would be a ridiculous MW farm.

What would be the best loadout for centurions? Inthink they look quite cool and I could allie them for my Deathwatch

Another preview by GW, some minir leaks and STILL NO word on Necrons. Im almost 75% sure now that we get ignored by this CA which makes me sad and Ill probably write an email to GW what they were thinking but more of that for the upcoming thread „CA2018 what do we think?“

Dev centurions took up 3 spots in 7th right? Just enough room for an apothecary with that relic haha

Though they'd have to make drop pods worthwhile along with cents

We don't know for sure what's going to be happening in Chapter Approved as of now. As I have been predicting for a while now, I recommended people not to expect large-scale changes with it. It's mostly going to be some points adjustments, as the main focus of this year's Chapter Approved is on quite a lot of other features (such as that Sisters Beta Codex, the custom Character rules, etc).

and as already stated elsewhere, Apothecary can't use it because it doesn't have the right keyword. It would have to be a Captain.Which isn't that bad because now you are rerolling 1s to hit and 1s to wound.

Not sure I see your issue. Camping dreads are already okay-ish, and supposedly Centurions are getting a big price cut.

It's implied you're only gonna be affecting the dudes in this detachment anyway.

Is there any restriction on the number of detachments this can be done to? Not that there's any particular reason to have more than 1 in this case, but who knows what could come up.

Ah yes I see it now. That's pretty lame. That reduces customization a bit

The issue being that if you want those to wound rerolls on anything else than those specific things (like Hellblasters, for example) you need to take a lieutenant anyway, making the relic redundant.

(Also, a point cut doesn't make the Centurions playable, they remain hideously ugly.)

I would like if the repulsor for a fairly big points reduction, if it was around the 280 mark for it to be equipped with lascannon and las talon is take a serious look at it

I recall that a 35 point reduction was reported for the las variant.

Not fully up to date on the current fluff - but after destroying Cadia has Abbadon been hiding in the Eye twirling his moustache for the last 100 years?

Agreed, perhaps the worst thing to come out of these December releases might be that we'll see more Centurions on the tabletop. Those models are so awful, the only worse concept around right now is probably that Space Wolf Santa thing.

Sometimes, you just gotta take something cause the model is freakin cool...

Well, looking at the siegebreaker as a "template" of sorts to what kind of special detachments we get

Its basically a boon if you are playing that army anyway, but not great enough to make you play it on its own.

1 CP for a relic (because you just get it, no need to pay extra) and unlocking a new WT and 2 good stratagems is overall pretty good-without being mandatory.

So basically, just like formations-its a great concept, but its open to being busted by a poorly made detachment. only issue-

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

There is still a chance of that in the general rules for formations.

If otherwise designed well (unlikely) they could cause people to spend more on specific attachments and ignore allies more (aside from CP).

I'd like to know as well. Only model I dislike is the Nurgle Beast model.

From a balance perspective, I agree with you. Or at the very least, have formations be available for every faction. From what I've heard, factions will be left out, including those already unable to ally.

Well, to be perfectly fair, one of the armies rumored not to get anything is the Tau, who are getting on the other hand 7 new named chars in CA18, and are the only ones that do.

Not all armies need to get the same attention in the same books, they just need to match up in the end.
