Didn't they say in the Warhammer Community post that they are going to be putting in rules for the Eight? It even had a picture of the Tau.

The issue being that if you want those to wound rerolls on anything else than those specific things (like Hellblasters, for example) you need to take a lieutenant anyway, making the relic redundant.

(Also, a point cut doesn't make the Centurions playable, they remain hideously ugly.)

Then maybe, just maybe, take your Hellblasters in a separate detachment? Marine players are already taking two detachments anyway, so this is just the one where you dont need a Lieutenant to do any camping.

Also they really aren't ugly. Easiest fix for that though I saw was someone removing the leg pads to make their legs more visible. Simple and effective. I can find a pic if you want.

Yeah, no one should really expect everyone to get stuff from a campaign. Especially if they're not involved. There will be other campaigns in the future to expand in that regard, so long as the coverage doesn't become uneven. Instead, I think that some changes in Chapter Approved are more important anyways. We'll judge based on that.

I'm gonna be honest here, I'm going to complain about it until we get a campaign book that doesn't have loyalist marines in it. The way the campaign books work by its nature favors the hero factions and ensures they get more rules to play with than anyone else; we can't expect all of them to be as middling as the mustard marines.

If 80% of the factions get one (or more) of these, while your army needs to wait for another year, it kina sucks.

It does. I wouldn't anticipate a long wait though. We will have to wait and see. I don't think I will be able to use the Imperial Fists Formation with my Crimson Fists, so I am out in the rain as of right now too

Seeing these actually gives me hope. There's a bunch of army types that would be more useful if they had some strats and relics aimed at their playstyle. I doubt we'll see them in vigilus, but this sort of detachment (and some points changes) could really help out Thousand Sons for Rubrics and Scarabs, or EC for Noise Marines.

I heard the exact opposite. The original rumors were that they said that NOT every faction would be involved in the campaign books and that they wouldn't pigeonhole a faction somewhere where they didn't make sense, even for balance reasons.

What does matter in which detachments the Hellblasters are? If you bring a lieutenant to buff them (in any detachment, that doesn't matter) then that lieutenant can buff these siege units too. The only reason to take the relic would be to form two separate firebases with two separate buff circles, but that would mean bringing too captains too (you absolutely need a captain for the Hellblaster) and that's getting pretty pricey.

Easiest fix for that though I saw was someone removing the leg pads to make their legs more visible. Simple and effective. I can find a pic if you want.

It stands to reason that these campaign books might be a common thing. I could see a new book coming out every 3-5 months providing new models, rules, missions, and formations.

Apparently the Imperial Fists WL Trait is pretty much always active. It is active as long as you don't move on YOUR turn. How many shooting attacks can your opponent use on YOUR turn? Few if any (I don't know, I am sure there is some way it can be done).

Also, I think the fact I have two Redemptor Dreadnoughts just put a smile on my face with the second stratagem. So many shots...

I don’t see why not. I’ll be using it with my Crimson Fists; I genuinely can’t see anyone having a problem with it as the successor Chapters should have access to the same traits and formations as their parent Chapters (bar the Templars..... CoS they went mad!)

The issue is again timescales, as roumer from the weekender was 2 possibly 3 campaign books for vigilous so nothing for Tau, Necrons or Nids for possibly quite a while.

I also wish they would stop saying dumb stuff like they choose fluff over balance gives me flashbacks to 7th edition formations.

We had this same thing with Codices though. How long did it take to finally get to Ork Codex? We survived one we'll survive two.

Not much new there, basically all the earlier rumours compiled. At this point I'm dubious until I see pics. Tbf, YouTube influencers should be getting their early copies in the next few days, so not long to wait.

Imperium will be in every book, unlike other factions.

What a great time to be a non-Imperium player (is there ever?; when being in a book gets you new rules.

I feel bad for Tau/Necrons, and the other Xenos.

That's not even remotely enough.

Think about it like this.

Say you bring a separate detachment with any of the Dread variants (Ven Autocannon, Deredeo, Leviathan, Relic Contemptor) and you brought a Captain, you basically save 60 points by not bringing a Lieutenant but still get the benefit.

If you weren't planning to bring two detachments, then you likely won't get a lot of benefit from the Siege Breaker or the Eye in general.

So, GK terminators down 18 points? Are they still 44 like in the index currently? If they get that and access to full smite, that's pretty solid.

They got price drop in CA2017 so it wouldn't be as big price drop this time.
