Yeah, I'd like to see a Tau Auxiliaries book that covered the Kroot plus a menagerie of other members of the Tau Empire (Kroot could probably stand on their own though).

Selfishly I'd like an Ork Yoofs/Feral Orks dual kit. More squigs and snotlings and other runts would also be welcome. They probably wouldn't add all that much to the game though, I just think they're fun. A far more practical thing would be to add back a lot of the major units that we're cut, but Warbosses in Mega Armor and plain old Big Meks aren't obscure.

For model nostalgia, Arbites.

For actual gameplay use, pretty much start with the oldest stuff that doesn’t even have plastic and go forwards from there.

I want a Living Saint kit, Inquisitors and henchmen, more Ecclesiarchy. I am also a huge nerd who likes non-combat stuff- along the lines of the servohaulers and the frag drill. FW makes a Valkyrie Skyclaw and a Thunderhawk equivalent- I would love those models!

But the biggest ask?

I really want GW to get behind a plastic repressor with the sisters release- it's time for GW to get off the pot. This unit is almost universally acknowledged as the best unit in the list and it needs the legitimacy of a GW Codex entry and an official GW model.

What will we actually get new models for?

Space marines, and other space marine related nostalgia things that nobody asked for.

By the Emperor's Golden Throne son! A semicolon or two would not have gone astray.

To my earlier post, I'd also like to add Imperial citizenry, Tau citizenry, and Human Tau Auxiliaries.

I do like civilian and support units. I can see those staying with Forge World, though, as I'm guessing the majority of players aren't interested. (I'm not even saying they need rules, I just like seeing some come to life in model form.)

GW has been scraping the bottom the nostalgia bin for a while now. We are seeing weird background-only characters getting models like the Ambull. With that in mind, if you could decide the next box set of something random, what would it be? (within reason now)

For me, I'd like to see a 5-man box set of Thunder Warriors in Mk1 Thunder Armor. Basically Primaris in size, but in REALLY old power armor. 4-monopose bolter, pistol, and CCW guys, and a Sergeant with a couple options. Nothing too fancy.

They couldn't exist in 40k, not without some bad lore based around 'fixing' their self-life.

I'd like to see some characters get models and rules, Erebus, Lord commander Eidolon, Constantin Valdor etc. I really want Berzerkers on Juggernauts though.

I thought there was all ready some books about Thunder Warriors that survived long after the Reunification Wars. They had started to quite literally come apart, but their leader became an underground gansta. They eventually rounded up enough gene splicing/alteration drugs and equipment to pull themselves together.

Unaligned units would be great if they could actually be slotted into any army without breaking battle-forged. Otherwise more upgrade kits for unit upgrades that are painfully bottlenecked. It doesn't even have to cover most of GW's catalogue, but just a handful of the most sought after bits from each army. Plasma/melta guns for regular guardsmen, blasters for DE, tau drone fuselages, harlequin weapons etc. Call it "Kill Team:Arsenal" or "Golden Armory" it really doesn't matter.

Upgrade and customisation sprues galore.

New plastic guardsmen kit with the command options bundled in.
New Rough Riders

Plastic aspect warriors and assorted Eldar jiggery-pokery.

More Kroot and expanded Tau Axilia.

More flavour and customisation options for everything.

Lost & Damned 2.0. In 40k fiction CSM are often the exception, not the rule. Cultists kinda helped, but there is nothing to really represent a competent mortals-only chaos force like say the opposing forces in Gaunt's Ghosts.

Yeah, there is the R&H list from FW, but :
1 - It's FW, so not everyone is fine with it.
2 - It nicely represent an uprising, what with the abundance of units unaware of which end of the autoguns make the loud noises, but not a competent chaos force.
3 - It has several playability problems. Worst amongst them being that random leadership. Rolling 1d6+2 for leadership is cute at first, but forced randomness gets old really fast. Also, look at a typical guard list. Imagine having to individually keep track of each unit's leadership. It's a clusterfeth.

PS :
I hate Eldar... But Exodites seem cool and haven't been done yet.

I do agree that the Lost and the Damned list from Codex:Eye of Terror is the obvious starting point for this type of list.

That had the bedth and depth to represent a scrofulous horde of mutants to a degraded but functional Imperial Guard type army, with greater or lesser involvement of Aspiring Champions of Chaos from the Space Marine legions.
In fact, given how GW has been plumbing the depths of nostalgia for ideas lately I'm surprised they haven't reused one of their most creative army lists!

Nope, the old campaign book whilest OK had not the depth for it.
What many really want is a IA13 style list, this one had the depth necessary.

Well I can't comment on the Siege of Vrakks list as I've never read it! I don't think it makes a good starting point though, as it is still extant and GW would be stepping on FW's toes by copy pasting it.

The Lost and Damned list had good depth though. The mutie squad for example: could take rifles or pistols and ccw, had multiple special weapon options, could take special marks of Chaos to customise the type of mutant and could be led by a mutant champion or Chaos Space Marine each with their own wargear options. That's a great level of depth for a bog standard troop unit!

Edit: Just to expand on the special marks thing, each almost changed the purpose of the unit.
From memory, 1 gave them wings to turn them into a super fast unit, 1 gave them extra close combat attacks, 1 turned them into plague zombies (reducing their cost and removing their shooting).
I can't remember the others but they were proper cool.

IA13 IS NOT SIEGE OF VRAKS.

And it is a better starting point for lost and the damned then the campaign book which you look at with such rose tinted eyes.
