I am tempted by the blue, but I have Mordian Iron Guard.

I'm tempted by the red, but have Praetorians.

I'll likely go with red as all of these have the Vostroyan style bearskin/ mask head.

The remaining twenty odd models (I bought 3 boxes and picked up six free ones from a survey) are going to be built as French Foreign Legionnaires so that will be a blue greatcoat itch scratched.

Although relatively limited with the three torso/ leg and rifle options, they go together fast and being plastic, are open to conversions. The only ones I've gone with so far is the addition of a GW Standard hand and some cutting to allow the Officer to have a sword in the left hand..

My one gripe is a lack of left hand options. the rifle and pistol armns are both right so for the left hand it's pointing or grenade unless you convert.

Posts and info from Wargames Atlantic do indicate heavy weapons teams so there could be more options there. Now a Command/ Character type box would also be a great idea.

For the present, I'm happy with 72 models for a £75 outlay.

Pretty awesome stuff there. Really like the idea of these guys as the personal guard of a hive noble or something.

You could go with white, for Napoleonic era Austrians.
http://napoleonistyka.atspace.com/Austrian_infantry.htm#_grenadiers

Personally, I think the Austrian grenadier bearskins look like someone kicked the back in (note the flattened area in the back), and would not model them myself, but it is an option.

Russian Napoleonic grenadiers wore a forest green, but did not wear bearskins. You could use it as a base for alternate Vostroyans though.

Don't know how well Victorian or Anvil Miniatures bits will work with these but they'd give you more weapon options.

Thanks for the research. Forest Green? I'll consider that as it would separate them from the Mordians and Praetorians.

I'm pretty happy with the weapons they have to be honest although the 'meltagun' looks a little weak. I have some spare Scion ones though that are relatively sleek and would fit these models better than the standard one from the Cadian sprue.

You're welcome. Used to play Napoleonics with a French corps, so I've seen just about every nationality's grenadiers on the other side of the table. And now with the internet, it is easy to get reference pictures!

The upcoming Dark Age Irish kit has my interest. No one else makes them in plastic and my Saga warband could use more warriors and levies,

Instead of going more sci-fi, go more Great War or Victorian. So over-engineered with lots of rivets (on the wheels, that is).

Vote for a historical conflict that will be made as 2 plastic sets. I hope conquistadors vs Aztecs! Also leave your email for a chance to win some free models.

I am really only interested in the Conquistadors and Aztecs. More so the Conquistadors. I almost backed the last Shadows of Brimstone for some good plastic conquistadors.

Liking the look of the grognards heavy weapons so far. As long as they take cues from French heavy weapons in the past they'll look sharp.

Have to say, bought a box out of curiosity and really liked them. Making some Valhallans vets/stormtroopers out of them with Victoria Valhallan heads and GW stormtrooper arms, I'm amazed how good they look. The box doesn't come with bases though right? Opened mine up and never saw any. Other than that a lot of the weapons I had issues with look better in person. The heads are great, if I wasn't using Valhallan heads I'd happily use what came in the kit with maybe some matching madrobot or Victoria lamb veteran style heads sprinkled in.

Could easily see myself making a Vostroyan list out of them if the heavy weapon box comes with some good poses. Honestly my only complaint is that there's only 3 bodies and really 4 different heads per type, but it's not super noticable and a little bit of kitbashing and additional heads would go a long way. Can't wait to see what all people do with that kit.

Conquistadors and Aztecs for sure. I would be interested in seeing how they do the Aztecs. Do they go all in on the high ranking animal costumed warriors, or lowly rank and file guys with the quilted stuff?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

In the poll, I voted for Foreign Legion vs Tuareg, though I was tempted to vote Aztec, but they did ask that your choice be made on if you would buy at least a box.

While I would like to see plastic Aztecs, and would want the line to contain both the elite warrior orders and novice rank & file, I just don't know how many people will actually buy them. Yes, lots of people say they want them, but what percentage of that will translate into a purchase? In my case, I won't buy them since I had 25mm Aztecs some time ago, painted a little, then sold the rest still in blisters, so I know my initial enthusiasm will not endure.

Part of a heavy weapons kit - they are designing them so they will match the first kit and give you more options. Sensible design.
