From their facebook, an interesting idea.

Let's talk bodies! Ooh la la!

Specifically, let's talk about the generic body type shown in this image. Assume you have this body type in multiple poses on a separate sprue. Starting with that as a basis, what sets could you build with the appropriate additional heads, weapons, shields, cloaks, equipment, and other bits on another sprue? Any genre, any period but assuming the base bodies don't change.

I asked if they were planning a box of nuttin but bodies and they said no. A shame, I could probably do a whole army with my bitz boxes.

The plan is to have a Sprue of bodies that we can put on a high-volume mold, and then pair that with a specific themed sprue of arms/heads/shields/bits to make specific kits.

Regarding the distribution question, please email info@wargamesatlantic.com

As for what that torso/legs combo could make:

1. Random townspeople of various times.

2. medieval archer

3. lite medieval infantry

4. medieval engineering group

5. American colonist 1500's to early 1700's.

6. post apocalyptical survivor (Mad max style)

7. "Waterworld" style survivor.

8. Rambling zombie horde (sci-fi, fantasy, post apocalyptical, etc.)

9. Separatist Cultists

So is that a full box? Looks a bit less than the usual 24 dudes but I guess it might be due to all the extra bitz taking up sprue space.

that is half a box, and shows "Fantasy" options, although there are the rayguns and such also on the sprues. there is an informational blurb below the photos.

Oh sweet, so that's still 24 critters with half being horse-sized.

You know what I want on them now, a lot more than goblin ridiers? Epic-scale turrets

You only need three legs on the ground for it to be stable. And having legs off the ground makes it look more like it is in motion, rather than just standing there.

They've added an article about the spiders - August release. I could use a box of these.

I’d love to see the sprues. From the sound of it, there should be enough legs leftover to make a passable Tyranot cruiser or squad of kraken. Fight on the ground, fight among the stars.

One question re: raygun spiders, the promo model only has one arm with thumbs. Will there be left arms arms with thumbs so they're not asymmetrical? I don't mind if they dual wield if there's no empty arms as long as they don't just have a thumb on one side.

Another FB survey question.

4 bodies and parts on one of our 1/2 frames (like skeletons and Halflings and Afghans) x 10 frames in a box for a 40 figure set. Ideas? Go.

My suggestion is near future grunts. Generic fatigues, choice of good guy cap heads or evil oppressor gas masks, choice of SMGs or shots guns. Maybe one armless body with bits for sergeant, grenade launcher, radio, whatever. Just warm bodies waiting to be mowed down by the brave rebels and/or monster of the week.

I could see a generic set of "civilians with guns" doing well, like the zombie game stuff some places came out with. Mix of AR15's, Kalashnikovs, g3's, fal's, etc with a mix of heads and clothes. Let's you use them as gangs, rebels, terrorists, survivors, militia, all kinds of fun stuff. Not sure if Warlord or whoever it was still makes that male survivors box, that was a good start, their poses were just kind of lacking if I remember correctly

I keep looking at the spiders, and realizing something is missing. Hats.

They need hats. Good thing I've got all those grognard heads! I wonder if I can put some bearskins or shakos on them....

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

And a pretty good model of how it could be done with the WGF sprue that WLG republished for Project Z (now OOP).

Are they OOP? That's a shame, the survivor kit was not that good but there were useful bits. I was just thinking of it the other day.

Funnily enough modern generic warsaw pact/nato equipped infanry is actually arguably the biggest hole not filled by any plastic sets....

Have we determined whether the spiders have both a right and a left arm with thumbs? The asymmetry would ruin them for me because I hate fun and my brain can't let go of things like that.

I'm glad to hear that, it was bothering me too. The kit looks great, and I would definitely pick one up if my shelf of shame was not already overflowing.
