Options? You will get 10 mono-pose banshees in different states of running. Welcome to 8th edition model releases

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.

Not a very funny one. Quite possibly hovering just above Jimmy Carr in the comedy stakes. But a joke all the same.

Like the Banshee and what it promises for the future for plastic Aspect Warriors.
The Warcry book sounds interesting for that game.
The new Undead leave me unmoved - which is odd because I love undead models in general.
Shrike looks great. I probably won't get him, but if I did I'd give him a 'womble' head. I've no problem with the hair cut. Not all marines need to look like they're fascist lobotomized ex-convicts.

Love the Banshee. Glad they didn't reinvent the wheel, Ynnari-sed them or put them all on huge chunks of scenery (we got that with Harlequins). Jes perfected their designs for the 4th Edition release (seriously, check out his stunning concept art if you have the chance to pick up one of his Eldar artbooks), now all we needed is a transition in modern plastic sculpts. Hope we see all the different Exarch head and wargear options from his concepts in the kit.
The Ossiarch Bonereapers are all new, very original Age of Sigmar, are probably not what veteran Tomb King players expected, but they all look expertly designed. They turn the design cues of Nagash, his Mortarchs, and Morghasts into a fully realized range. I'd say try to be open-minded.

I want to cut this part of your comment out, because it's something I was thinking about: Do we think that Ynnari will ever be a 'thing'. I mean part of the reason I thought that Aspects were destined for the Last Chance To Buy section of the website was because GW was about to reinvent the wheel and make the Ynnari the new 'face' of the Eldar... sorry, the Aeldari or whatever stupid name they invented for 8th Ed. But so far we've seen almost nothing about the Ynnari. They exist in an index, which basically means nothing, have no minis of their own outside of a set of three that came out during the last edition, and were a nebulous hodgepodge of units from other books with a ton of special rules slapped on top of them. And they're not on that big (now updated) list of all the races that are getting updates in the Psychic Vaguening. I figured that when they did Ynnari, new Aspects would be the first place they went, but seemingly not. So... what fate Ynnari at this stage? Yodhrin wrote:The teasers for Ossiarchs were on about Nagash's "tax" all the time. Jimmy Carr the comedian was caught up in a huge tax evasion scheme a few years back.

I don't think I saw more than two or three actual TK players who expected this to be anything for them. Most of them gave up hope entirely with that throwaway bit of fluff about Lord Celestant Totes Not Settra and his "Imperishables" Stormcast, or whatever it was. The TK remarks were primarily coming from AoS advocates trying to tempt TK players back, or people who had a vague appreciation for TK before but never actually got around to collecting them, or just people who's reasoning seemed to be "bone-things that aren't the ones with the old Vampire Counts aesthetic = basically Tomb Kings".
Maybe it's your own perception that could do with a bit of a dispassionate second look eh.

H.B.M.C. wrote: casvalremdeikun wrote:Is it me or does the pose for the Howling Banshee almost look like it could be used for a Swooping Hawk as well? Dual kit maybe?
We can only hope.
I've said for a long time that 3 dual kits would give us the Aspects:
Hawks/Banshees - Lightest looking of the 6 main types, can be in lots of flipping/flying poses.
Dragons/Scorps - More sturdy armour and 'grounded', with head and arm-swaps taking care of the details.
Reapers/Spiders - Most bulky of the Aspects, again with head/arm and backpack swaps taking care of the details.
I think that's how Jes originally designed them with 3 different armour classes . The Howling Banshee really made my morning- I thought I'd never see it. Looks like the new campaign could be very interesting model wise with Xenos getting new models -hopefully more new elder and maybe some Nids [pretty please..]. Not worried about the advancing story - they'll use it to move the factions forward and bring new stuff for them. I'd love to see some fresh eldar stuff - maybe a new avatar?
The new death faction looks really cool and original - love that they are grown from bone not just animated skeletons. The centrepiece models look like amazing painting projects -although the characters on the Mortarchs base would look cracking as separate character models. Not my thing but they do look awesome and I'd be tempted to paint a few up.
It would have been great to see more of what the big 40k campaign has to offer but that wee taster has got me much more interested in the 40k story than I have for a long time with the possibility of new Xenos models, especially eldar..haven't touched my eldar in ages..

That woman’s voice in the Psychic Awakening video was grating and cringeworthy, other than that not really sure what to expect there. Having supplements for it that just include a pair of forces each strikes me as grasping, I guess the days of having a campaign book are gone. Phobos armor is the worst thing to happen to the Space Marine aesthetic imo. So a miss for Shrike here. Plastic Aspects is great news! Indifferent to the Warcry news, Bonereapers are fantastic looking, Sisters are coming, we know, And not nearly enough on Necromunda.

I think the only reason we've not seen more cut is that GW has limited production slots, esp when Fantasy armies have on the whole a LOT more metal and resin floating around. Eldar Craftworlds are the last 40K army with extensive resin in the core force; whilst armies like Necrons only have it in heroes and Tyranids have only a handful.
Finecast is still failcast - I've got 3 cockatrice with some moulding problems (I bought 2, got one replaced and figured it wasnt' worth building a whole army of them on getting replacements; esp as GW would keep sending me full kits so I'd still have to "fix" them). Thankfully I can just build up the skull bone pile in the imddle to hide it. But the material still has its casting problems. So removing it is critical for GW to move forward.
If GW is going to do this with a themed series of events and perhaps some new stuff thrown in alongside replacements then I'm all for it. I'm also really pleased to see that the Howling Banshee IS a Howling Banshee and that they've not used this moment to redefine Eldar in style. Of course I hope once they get to guardians that they get a bit of a face lift!

I also wouldn't be surprised if GW sees metal and finecast problematic for several reasons. One being the problem of maintaining several different production pipelines(metal/resin/plastic). Another would be that metal and resin is probably handier for recasters to abuse due to the natural of the material and smaller sprues. Third, their factory houses a very good plastic sprue "printing" machine which is probably much more efficient and reliable than whatever system they are using for their other materials.
Also, as you mentioned, GW has had a really bad time with Finecast. Rare is the resin cast GW item that you haven't had to green stuff or bend into place.

I'm guessing the extra grav vanes on Shrike over those on Suppressors are to make him stand out more, and to signify he's more sneaky (not sure how noisy grav vanes are, but I imagine they're quieter than the jump pack) for silent stealth insertions. I'm not sure what's on top of his backpack though...are those smoke launchers?

When they talk about big reveals - possibly the Ynnari become part of a new Eldar Pantheon? They are a cool development in my opinion for the eldar story and I hope they use them to shift the eldar forward, maybe a renewal moving the forces of Khaine forward [also the Banshees are closest to the Ynnari I think as Jain Zar has a lighted herself with them]]. One of the Ynnari characters in the novels absorbed the essence of one of Khaine's avatars so the aspects could be come part of the new vision of resurgent eldar more like their days of empire.
I'm really looking forward to seeing these kits for the variations- kitbashing you could get some great builds of Autarch if the exarchs come with varieties of weapons and heads. I do hope they have options for other ritual weapons as other have said. Regardless the exarchs will offer fresh variety and I'm looking forward to adding some DE bare wych heads to punk them up..

Who says that Sisters are getting excluded from the campaign?
It just says they're not getting new rules, which is presumably because any "new" rules for them are already going to be in their codex. Surely if Sisters were getting new rules in PA at the same time as their codex shipping we'd see GW accused of making people buy two books and artificially screwing money out of people.
Edit: And they've updated the graphic now so they're there anyway!

He's got Omnis armour on top and Phobos armour on the legs.
Which is the worst of all possible worlds really.
