I realize these are tense times for all Americans and people around the world. Rising infections rates, lock downs and uncertainty about our future hangs over everything.

But if there is one thing we can count on in these difficult times it is batspit insane releases from Reaper.

I mean look at these guys! These Norkers are basically the goblins from the classic Rankin/Bass Hobbit cartoon!

(Man someone should make a live action Hobbit film some time, I wonder why no one has, I mean it would basically be a guaranteed hit)

These Goblin Elites are a bit different in style but certainly share the spirit.

And to fight them we have a Grey Wizard, about to make use of Comrade Molotov's Potion of Fireballs.

And some nar-do-wells to populate the Prancy Ponny.

OK hear me out. So like if a guy gets bitten by a rat he becomes a wererat, but what if like, he's bitten by a giant rat? Or if a giant is bitten by a normal sized rat? What do you get then?

Plus there's this fellow, a Cyclops who, with some minor converting, could easily serve as a fearsome Biclops as well!

Somehow I more disturbed by the breasts on the snake woman than the fact she has arms, armor and weapons. Why does my mind work that way?

Some female adventurers, I like the Greek style heroine, and have to point out that while Dannin Deepaxe (of the Stonecanyon Deepaxes, she was named for her mother's favorite yogurt) is billed as a female dwarf she can also easily be used as a female halfling with the use of some moss to make for hairy feet.

Follow me for more lifehacks!

And finally we close out Vance Treadwell an innovative take on the classic Ranger archetype who, rather than wearing the classic leather armor of a ranger instead has studded leather armor. Good to see innovation in what could otherwise be a tired fantasy cliche!

I like the female Greek hero as well. Could be useful in Broken Legions, Of Gods and Mortals, Mortal Gods Mythica, or as a command unit in various Alt-Greek/Amazon Fantasy armies.

Or you can even fit her in a Sci fi game if you base your background off of Dan Simmons’ Ilium, the groundbreaking novel of two robots talking about Proust.

Exciting. *shivers*

Ilium and Olympos. Read both novels. I suppose this mini could be a Penthesilea.

Yeah, a Hobbit movie would be nice. Something maybe 2.5 hours long at the most. It won't happen though. Saul Zaentz may be dead but his spirit lingers, or rather malingers, on.

Particularly if they put the same effort as LotR in to costumes, sets and miniature work; it would be terrible if someone turned it into another CGI green screen borefest.

It's the shortest book in the series so save 2.5 hours for the extended DVD. The theatrical cut should run a brisk 90 minutes tops.

Heck the classic cartoon did it in a half hour.

Those Norkers are kinda cool. Are they Bones or metal? I don't recognize them, surprisingly.

To me, the goblins of the animated film were the most definitive look for the race.

I always liked their style and proportions- so very Ghibli- esque looking at them now, but then again, considering the people who were animating the film...

I'm going to have to go watch it again now, aren't I?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Naw. let it run long. It's a good story, and properly told, won't seem tedious to watch at all. The extended DVD should have the original ending. The one where Bilbo and Gollum shake hands and part on good terms.

I want to see a movie of the Fall of Gondolin. Stretch out some of the more ‘human’ scenes to give the action some emotional heft, and you’d have that big-spectacle LOTR prequel everyone thought they wanted.

Reminds me of something Neil Gaiman reputedly said to a couple of kids who wanted advice on writing fantasy stories:

"Combine two ideas together. Everybody knows what happens when a werewolf bites a man... but what if a werewolf bites a goldfish?"

Come to think of it, Reaper probably has a miniature for that exact scenario.

God I love reaper. I'm pretty sure their catalog is self propagating at this point, and they just find new sculpts scattered about the office at random, SCP style.

Actually those Tiik's may find a way into my collection. There are some NPC monsters in This is Not A Test that are essentially mutated catfish that can survive on land to attack prey. Sometimes it's more fun to turn on the "Wild wasteland" perk and go crazy instead of just fighting zombies and radroaches all the time. *wink*

Those norkers looks great ! I may order them all.
But I notice they look like they are 3D printed and there's a "reaper virtual" banner on the front page which leads to a countdown. Did they make an announcement about this ? Maybe they'll start selling 3D-printables minis.

Also is there a list of the free minis you can choose from when you spend 40$ ? I don't find it on the store.

Looks like they snuck out a second wave for November!

First off some Devils in bones plastic, 3 for under $10

With some minor conversion work they can also pass as Demons, Daemons or even Demodands!
You can try passing them off as Gargoyles too, but that requires adding cracks to their skin with a hobby knife and is only recommended for experienced modellers.

And for when they get hungry, Innkeeper Sophie will be waiting!

Nimbar the Elf Necromancer raises so many questions. Is he a dark elf? Does being a Necromancer make him a dark elf by profession if not by birth? Can one be a light elf and a Necromancer? Or perhaps he's not an elf at all, maybe he's just a normal Necromancer who can only reanimate dead elfs? Which since elfs are immortal makes his skillset of very limited utility.

Ghost pirates!

More ghost pirates!

And finally the most useful model of the month...

The 40' (actually more like 12") container! At just $12 it's a great piece of LOS blocking terrain for any modern or sci fi game.

There's also some elfs PC types but nothing interesting.

And of course the 12 Days of Reaper Christmas promotion

The Krampus promotion

And the Figure of the Month...

Hrm. I may have talked myself into buying $60 of cargo crates...

Are the ghost pirates ghosts of people who were pirates when alive, or are they ghosts who have turned to piracy because haunting houses is a boring dead end job.

Yes, there is a South Park reference in that.

Only YOU can decide!

But y'know strickly speaking, looking at word order, Ghost Pirates would have to be people who practice piracy and steal ghosts, like Car Thieves. Imagine a group of brigands robbing the Ghost Busters on their way home.

These guys would either have to be Ghostly Pirates (adj-noun) or Pirate Ghosts (noun modifier-noun).

English sucks sometimes.

That being said, if I was a ghost I'd totally turn to piracy, I mean why would I even want to hang out in my boring old house for eternity?

Depends on what kind of Gargoyles you want.

The female one in the centre clearly needs red hair and a bazooka.

According to RAW you have to haunt your boring old house for eternity. Look, it's on page 851 right here.

Of course, there's nothing specifically prohibiting you from unmooring your house and taking it out on the high streets to board and scuttle bankers' skyscrapers, Crimson Permanent Assurance style.
