Interesting that the trailers only have three sets of wheels, instead of four - wonder if the set that is missing would work on a Taurox to replace the front set of tracks, like the Victoria's Miniatures conversion kit...

They might actually be too big, depending on your taste. If the container is 60mm, looks like they are move than half the height (and my simple pixel analysis suggests ~36mm).

For comparison, the Zinge wheels are 27mm.

That´s...correct.

Though I do love the sand mites. Problem is they will never be able to keep up with ANY vehicle in a car chase. Or maybe they move like this (watch at 2:00 min):

Yeah, its pretty weird to have an open cockpit, and have the driver not wear gloves. I guess the ash wastes aren't that bad?

Every piece of that thing is going to be AUD$120. It's going to be prohibitively expensive.

It would make the most sense to have two boxes available, 1) a "tractor" box with a cab sprue, a trailer sprue, and a container sprue, and 2) a "cargo" box with a trailer sprue and container sprue.

But this is GW so who knows how things will be packaged and sold.

I look forward to purchasing less expensive 3rd party options for land trains!

They are going to charge sooo much money for that.

Not necessarily an exact match but options are already out there.

That cargo 8 is awesome, would make cool terrain for 40k/30k too.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Nope. It's been in the trading post this edition since Gang War 3. There's also this model of a Van Saar with one.

And who else but Van Saar would have them?

There'll be a limited edition box containing all the bits at a lower price that will not be produced beyond its initial run and then the pieces will be in individual boxes at inflated prices.

Nothing weird, Baja truck was designed to run without windshield, and it'd been like that for decade.

Dakar truck do run windshield but the thing got shattered pretty often obscuring driver's visibility, so they usually had to stop to kick that wind shield out.

Stopping while being attacked is a death sentence, keep running with your view being blocked due to shattered windshield also meant easier to be hit by traps.

Although i had to say the exposed lower half of driver is pretty dumb, unless they have some kind of midget or grot underneath the driver.

The driver is sitting in the middle, with a panel in front of him. The guy with the exposed lower half appears to be a spotter or extra crewhand.

That's a cool looking model! I'm not a fan of the super long segmented whatever coming down from his sternum but that's a very easy fix to convert.

Perspective is everything.

For example, I like the way the Ridgehauler looks in this image. It has a cool, industrial vibe.

This one, not so much. It looks like something that's been looted by orks.

Somehow this makes it look even worse.

And it's the exact same vehicle.

I think the spikes/reclaimed stuff will be optional. To give the kit more of a range of conditions; brand new, certified-preowned, kinda okay, shitbox & scavenged. Also a fair bit could be done with a clean paintjob vs dirt n grime.

This thing doesn't look like it has door so I guess that lower expose part are alternative quick way to exit the vehicle.

Though this one's been all Ash-Waste-ified, I've been interested in Cargo-8s since Abnett started using them in his fiction ages ago.

I'll be very happy to kitbash one with an enclosed cab for driving inside a hive...

My first thought about this model: whithout the cargo and the crew that's a perfect ork trukk!!! Not even in the need of conversions, other than adding a pilot and a gunner.

They mention extra armor as an upgrade, so maybe there is a bit to enclose the cockpit but it costs extra points-wise (hopefully not money wise).

Agree on the gunners standing inside the cargo, I wonder if there is a good way to mount them outside. If not they could be left off, maybe the guns automated like the storm bolters on the crate kit?

Not going to enter into a debate on the land speed of a tick the size of a VW...

Maybe they hop long distances?

What do you guys think the probability is that they will also come out with 40k rules for this? I can definitely see room in Imperial Guard, Genestealer Cult, possibly Orks.

GW basically provided you years ago with all the justification you will ever need: "Forge your own narrative."

I can see GSC smashing a fortress gate with the Big Rig and then opening all four containers to unleash a horde of genestealers upon their unsuspecting victims.

Orks attacking supply trains is another one. Perhaps better suited to a smaller game, but would still be fun.
