Dudeface wrote: There's something off about his proportions and not in the good slaanesh way. Between the 5 head and waist that suggests he's not actually wearing power armour, but the chest and weirdly squared arm joints that suggest he is. I actually don't like it much and I thought I would.
That's exactly how he is described in the books and it's perfect.
"...even armoured he was skeletally thin, like some parasitic insect crouched inside the shrunken carapace of a previous victim..."
The head, less so. Doesn't match his description at all.
I get that, but armour doesn't care how thin you are it is just the shape and size that it is. The only thing I can see that makes sense is the waist is primarily cabling/trunking for a heresy area marine, so could be a little thinner at best? Either way I guess it fits his fluff even if it makes little sense!
I guess he only wear chest armour and then armoured briefs, he's going open bellied!
Not the kind of face I associate with Bill. The old model looked different, especially the nose. Normally I'd wait to see the bare plastic since GW's face paint jobs aren't always spot on, but i don't think that's going to be a fix in this case.
I don't have a problem with the corset so far, but we've only seen half the model so far. I expect it'll look reasonably proportioned (for a GW model) in context, and at actual size.
Nehekhara lives! Sort of!
Why is the rum always gone?
I like it. Not a handsome face to be sure and I'm fine with that. Hair looks poor but I suppose what is doable in plastic is still limited in some sense.
Grimtuff wrote: Excellent body. Perfectly wasp thin and exactly as described in the novels. The head? Yeah... no. Awful, awful sculpt.
Yea that face is bloody comedic.
I'm glad the body is spot on, which is a bit more important. Been planning a Bile conversion for a while but I could never find the right body that was thin enough and in armour. Glad I waited though. The head is an easy fix hopefully, I hoping there is either multiple heads a la Abaddon (like one of Bile in a freshly cloned body with younger features and a full head of hair) of the head is easy to remove and replace with the CSM Termie lord head, which is perfect for Bile IMO, like in the conversion below.

He does though. He's described as wearing a helmet multiple times in the novels, though it is never described in its appearance. I always imagined it to look something like a surgeon's mask, with various optical arrays over it, a bit like the GK Termie Apothecary helmet.

Yes, that is what I was saying. I am saying he is smart enough to wear a helmet (and thus not dumb enough to not wear one).
Bile has never been seen with an helmet. In miniature or art form. I mean I love helmets and if they add an helmet option then great! But is not part of his aesthetic.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I don’t get how people are getting at the Armour when it’s described like that.
The argument “armour doesn’t care if you’re thin” doesn’t help, because clearly it isn’t normal armour, being described as thin itself, not just him..

Is there some fluff that explains he has unique armour? Last I checked he just had power armour same as other marines.

The only thing mentioned about it in the novels is the fact it is still his original suit of armour from the time of the Great Crusade. It has clearly been modified and maintained by Vatborn for him so maybe it is made to be more of a custom fit, like the Custodes power armour is.

Well, he did straight up tell you in The Simpsons.
James Woods: But as for me, I'm off to battle aliens on a faraway planet.
Marge: That sounds like a good movie.
James Woods: Yes...yes.. uh, a movie... yes..

Does a helmet really matter? He can't die without an incredible amount of effort. Hell, it's easier to kill Lucius.

I wounldn't use Lucius as a example.
I would. I didn't pick him at random. Lucius is killed by any landmine, bombardment or slippery rocks he gets too close to. To kill Fabius you need to kill him, the Apothecaries in the Consortium, his New Men and destroy his ship and labs. Plus if he gets desperate Fabius can send Primarch clones at you.

Plenty of guys can die from landmine, bombardment or slippery rocks, not just Lucius. If space marine can die from those things anyway.

Main problem is actually staying dead.
I think the point with those specific causes of death is the lack of likelihood of the conditions for Lucius to come back to be triggered. If you don't know you killed him, how can you feel satisfaction in doing so?

Yeah, those were examples a GW writter pointed out of some ways for Lucius to die for real this time promise! If he gets obliterated with some indirect damage he just stays death. Of course that doesn't happen because that would suck for a character.
