Well, the infantry and small walkers look good. The lancers are comically small. Interesting since the footprint isn't bad and if they'd been made a bit taller, they really could have looked like proper 10mm tanks. Will be looking forward to seeing some close-up Higher-res pics of the GCPS infantry.

I assume 3d printable "true scale" tanks and vehicles will be common and popular once mantic releases the stls from the mmf campaign

true scale might be the wrong word here as the Lancer looks to be in scale with transports and infantry
Battle Tanks are rather small compared to other vehicles and not having a base is the issue on the pic (a reason why I prefer bases for vehicles, otherwise they will look too small compared to infantry, specially at small scale)

I agree, the extra couple of mm from the base makes a huge difference at this scale. It isn't my preference to base vehicles but looking at these photos, I think I will do that for this.

I disagree. I actually had a chance to stand next to an M1 Abrams 2 weeks ago and it's bigger -especially taller- than that.

I don't want to belabor the point as I think we've already had confirmation from Mantic that the vehicles are deliberately underscale. I just think it's an opportunity missed in this case since if they'd made the vehicle a little taller (the mold a little deeper) they could have produced a vehicle that actually was properly scaled.

This is a debate that has gone on for many years especially 6-15mm, about whether to base tanks. I normally don't bother as I'm lazy but think an army with all matching bases with the tanks and infantry lined up can look excellent. I might think of doing it for this game.

Do we know if the army boxes come with enough bases to put all the tanks on bases?

well, tanks follow different designs, the M1 is huge for a tank in general, specially compared to Russian or Asian designs
But compared to some APCs,
Spoiler:

The Lancer is fine compared to the Mule, a little on the small side compared to the infantry but there is no wargame that uses tanks that are perfect in scale with infantry

the shops list 60 EWP bases and 20 25mm bases per core army box
So my guess would that there are enough bases

Very curious to see these new plastic bases. We’ve not had new round bases from Mantic since Warpath first came out.

With that picture I think you just made my point for me. We agree that the footprint of the GCPS tanks is probably fine, but they're to short to be a battle tank and FAR too short as an APC hull. Unless we're assuming everyone is lying down inside them.

As for "No wargame...." You're just wrong there. Miniature soldiers will are often a touch thicker than true scale because of durability, but height wise, most games scale their vehicles and miniatures properly these days. FoW, Bolt Action, Legion, heck, even 40k is mostly "accurate" to mini size and fluff these days.

It is very hard to scale infantry and vehicles at small scale and have people believe it. Deployed infantry are bulked up and in poses making them look bigger. Hell its hard in real life. Try standing all the crew and passengers next to a BMP 1 or 3 and see if it looks credible...

Are they? All I'm seeing are paintjobs of the sample STLs from the upcoming MMF campaign.

It seems like pledges without miniatures went out first but people have posted that they have rulebooks and tokens now.

True that. I had no minis in my pledge.

I have seen a few people in social media groups getting notifications so hopefully things on their way now.

I am just getting this printed out as terrain for my Forge Father faction, I am sure a few grognards among us who know of Golgotha will remember it

Veer-Myn and Asterian sprues- glad I picked Veer-Myn as my 3rd choice hopefully the Tunneller gets a transport section even if just as an stl.

Replacement FF sprues are in looks like it's just the GCPS to finish.

The Veermyn tank is comically and tragically small, innit, especially compared to how they bloated up the Asterian Chira. Prime candidate to be replaced entirely with 3d prints at 130% or so.

But they are only little ratty guys

I can see quite a lot of this range having crossover appeal. The Forge Fathers are going to get double duty as an Epic Squat army, for example. I think they will scale pretty well with Legions Imperialis, if not the smaller classic Epic stuff.

Such a shame Mantic abandoned Mars Attacks - Epic Warpath would have provided a lot of material to use with the Martian shrink ray.

I doubt they abandoned it. Licensed products can come and go.

I'll go with "stopped selling" then.

I remember that when Mars Attacks vanished from Mantic's website someone posted a colorful rumor - probably on this forum - that Mantic had initially gotten to use the Mars Attacks license for free because Topps just wanted to do something with it, but then after the game had been out for awhile Topps asked them to start paying for it, so instead Mantic dropped it.

I have no idea if any of that is true (so I can't argue the point,) but if anyone here does know for sure yea or nay, it'd be interesting to hear. It's a weird - and actually really good - discontinued game from Mantic's publishing history. Halo seems to be the next iteration of Mantic's Mars Attacks approach to doing Deadzone-lite licensed games.

I only know it wasn't renewed after the first contract ended but not why.
Also that Ronnie said that the comics/cards were not well known in Europe/UK

Its common with licensing for the licensor to request a dramatic increase in the licensing fees at renewal time, which often results in licenses being discontinued. I dont know that it was not renewed because it went from free to costing something, but it wouldnt surprise me if it was dropped because renewing would render continued support and developmemt financially unviable due to higher fees.

On a side note I did wonder if that was the case with Warlord Games losing 2000AD (all of those games now withdrawn from sale), but was told categorically that license fees were not the issue. Instead, it was something to do with 2000AD owners Rebellion wanting to do something else with the license - so things like that must happen also sometimes.

I don't really have any interest in another game, especially another game that's chosen another scale, but I'm likely to pick up some of the terrain as I love the TMG/vanguard terrain but its become far too costly to buy from Vanguard now but I can occasionally buy from mantic, especially when they do their 25% sales without fees making the order too costly. (I got some of their modern day terrain for my Judge Dredd collection and fees were good for how much I ordered)

Its a shame the scale is too large for Epic 40k, because I have a huge collection of Rats for E40k and if I order a bunch of terrain in the future I'd have gone mad for those rat models.

I may still get a couple of boxes just for big drills and use a handful of the rats as 'big mutants', if the cost is comparable to a regular set of Legions models (or if these models get stocked over here and I can pick the models up on the cheap) taking into account of 'wasting' the left over infantry.

I suspect the scale doesn’t matter much if you stick Epic minis to the correct size bases or even use base adapters to convert square Epic bases to round Epic Warpath bases.

You could even play Epic Warpath with 28mm minis and just have 1 mini = 1 base.
