You are being awfully generous, especially given that their financial slump was caused in part due to a fixation on the best selling space marines, to the point where they had to take over Fantasy too. GW looks at the numbers, sees that space marines sell and Eldar don't, and assume that's because everyone likes Space Marines and hate Eldar and not because Space Marines have nice new models and Eldar don't.
I think in more recent years ( GSC release onward) GW has done a better job of listening to fan sentiment as much as the raw numbers, which is why we're getting reboots of more niche factions that are proving far less niche than GW may have thought.
Your hyperbole about the Marines is adorable. No, Kirby was pushing the company to push models over all else leading to WFB to have a massive hurdle to entry due to needing over a hundred models just to play small games. Not to mention the old grognards rarely buy models meaning that when the new players dry up the game starts dying.
They also pushed models with knowingly broken rules. Look at the Wraithknigjt launch.
AoS is doing better than WFB had since 7th, and Primaris avoid an old problem that comes from rebooting a model line: even old players have to buy stuff to play them.
Consideting the record profits since Roundtree took over it's clear that it's not "too many Marines", it was poor community engagement and pushing the idea of collections over actual games worth playing.

I guess the eldar will just have to cry themselves to sleep on that giant pile of ITC tournament wins, and comfort themselves in the knowledge that they have been a top codex for several editions. It's tough being an eldar player, just ask them, or more likely you won't have to ask them they'll just tell you.
What good does winning a bunch of ITC tournaments do to anyone other than the actual winners? My local play experience wouldn't get any better based on someone else piloting an army with some of the same models as mine to no-matter-how-many victories across the world.

A bit of a missed opportunity to make the Necron Warriors look less silly with their big cartoon mouths. It would look so much better as a simple slit. But you can green stuff it away I suppose. The Necrons just look more like the Cryx with each new model, now they have giant back spines.

I couldn't care less about the endless supply of marines or the Necron shelf diorama.
The Warriors were from 3rd ed and were fiddly messes that were easy to pose badly. Plus the molds wear down over time and the flash gets worse.
Yeah apparently none of these people ever put together a Necron Warrior and it shows.

The only problem I've had with the old warriors is the clear tube guns that I was replacing with immortal tubes - the new ones remove that need entirely. Though its slightly amusing to me that they've updated the guns to match the ark, but now the new warriors have different body designs which don't match - then again it was always a minor difference andany major issues you can likely swap over heads if you really need too.
Overall this update looks like it will push almost the entire Necron range into modern plastics perhaps barring one or two characters, but there's a good few new/replacement ones already so that's going to not be an issue.

To be fair, on balance, the age of the average kit on the Necron line is stll much newer than the much of the model lines of many other factions like Guard, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tau, etc, some of which are still using kits (or only very minorly updated versions thereof) from 3E or even 1990's 2E for many staple units, though Warriors getting an updated is definitely a plus.

Which makes no sense. Pre-Gathering Storm Cassius was pushing 400, which is on the very high end of the scale for Ultramarines. If it was post Gathering Storm he'd be close to 600 which is almost unheard of outside of Blood Angels and Space Wolves bloodlines.

1. What the heck is the point of “ de- GW”ing a GW miniature? If you don’t like the pattern of putting OTT grandiose sparkly bits on characters, other miniatures companies are available.
2. More to the point, this guy is a character of some sort. We have other images of him next to a squad of slightly smaller tripod-dudes who only have melee weapons and they have none of the bling or extra arms; probably easier to convert one of them if you don’t like the “official” one that much.
3. Warriors are such a bad kit by modern GW standards it’s about time they got redone, if only so they won’t be such a pain to put together. I don’t mind an occasional character being a 3D jigsaw (hello Eldrad) but an entire squad of basic grunts? No thanks.

So, it looks like Necron codex will be very early.....so what the heck are they going to put in Pariah? Just the new Necron character, Stern and companion, plus Inquisitor? I do wonder if the news of 9th edition and recycling of codexes (inevitable) will dampen sales for the final 3 PA books. Engine War will probably sell well for Mech, but War of the Spyder? And Pariah?
Of course, we don't know when 9th will drop, probably end of summer, unless they put out the final 3 PA books within a 1 month time period.

It takes skill to take all image that bad now days.
I not a fan of where there necrons have been going, don’t really dislike it so much as just don’t see it going towards much of anything but villain for space marines to kill, sorta bland as a whole maybe someone will do something interesting with the story if they getting starter box spot.
Space marines are neat I guess, nothing I need but I may see if I can get second hand for my chaos projects or split a box if not crazy price here.

The big fuzzy picture in the second post. To the left of the new monolith is a knight sized spider walker - I assume it's the same thing that was shown at the very end of the trailer. The monolith is new, to the right of the monolith looks like a c'tan with wings, to the right of him is the silent king. Below the big walker is a destroyer without a green rod.

Well, this is downright false- It hasn't been 8 years since an update, it's been 8 years since the 5th edition update.
We had multiple codex updates and new models, including a forgeworld line since the 5th edition update.
