Some of my epic Tyranid prints I did over the weekend nearly have everything printed and can start bulk painting them to get them based.

Got through on some more vehicles printed and ready for the paint queue and finished the Falchion for what I'm coming to call the 31st Heavy Armor Battalion of the 4th Great Company. Essentially just an excuse for mechanized infantry, pile of skirmishing tanks, and a trio of superheavies.



And an infantry test on some guys that didn't print out right due to some unfortunate issues.

Hey guys - Does anyone know what has happened re. Vanguard no longer stocking Onslaught Miniatures?

Shame it looks like I'll now need to order direct from the US (with all of the delays + tax that will include)

I hope this is ok to put here, but I've got some of what I'm assuming are epic imperial guard, but I'm not sure what they all are! I could use some help identifying them.

Hmm yes - these must be later plastic releases as I'm not familiar with them (maybe Albertorius or Sherrypie will confirm if they were from Armageddon or Epic 40k or are not?)

Those are Imperial Guard from 3rd edition Epic, aka Epic 40,000. It was the mostest unpopularest of all editions, but it did have great models (except the Titans).

The tanks are indeed Leman Russes. You can tell they're 3rd edition because the tracks come separate.

The plastics are from the standard IG infantry sprue from 3rd ed Epic. From left to right, top to bottom:

1st row: Rough Riders on horseback
Traditionally you would put three of these on a single base to count as one unit, but you could get away with two on a base.

2nd row: 2x kneeling guys with commlinks; Commissar; Psyker; Ogryn.
Some of these could be grouped together onto one base as a command squad. If you had a few more Ogryns, you could instead put them on a base as a separate unit. The Commissar could also be placed in a regular infantry stand to give it a buff.

3rd row: Catachan guys and Valhallan guys (the Valhallans have the trenchcoats).
Both were just counted as regular infantry in 3rd ed Epic. The different sculpts were purely for decoration/fluff. I use the Catachan models as infiltrating troops rather than use Ratling models.

4th row: Heavy weapons platforms.
In theory you would put 4-5 of these on one stand, but they can also be mixed with other troops to pad them out. (I put two heavy weapons and 2-3 troopers in my heavy weapon units.)

All up, if you spread the models out on the bases a little rather than cramming the usual five guys onto each, you have enough for 2 Leman Russ Tank units, 1 Rough Rider stand, 1 Command stand, 2 infantry stands and 1 heavy weapon stand. At least, in 3rd ed Epic. I don't know what you'd do with them in other editions.

I just managed to secure this awesome little lot of still-on-spure Epic for $150AUD (I assume good value but definitely worth it for the nostalgia)
I want to start going at it right now but I've got sooo much stuff to paint it's hard to focus on one thing!

Those plastic Land Raider were definitely a step up from the previous ones, the old RT-era like little boxy ones.
