I was hoping they had a really big catapult, a strategically placed bouncy castle and a dead eye aim myself.

But yes, on reflection a container would be a more sensible option!

Oh come on. That's hardly realistic. Obviously, to cut the Gordian knot of current international shipping snafus, Hasbro is using one of those highly reliable teleport doors from the Castle of Mystery quest. Roll 2D6... oops, the shipment went to Namibia. Roll again. Oops, now it's in Taiwan. Roll again. Tasmania... OK, this might take a while...

(It's the silly American version of HQ anyway--why would any Pom want it? )

And I think I’ve just added something to my “when I’m a millionaire” list.

A place with catapults, bouncy castle targets and various “comedy” payloads for the former.

First five Dakkanauts get their first payload free?

People in the US have started receiving their mythic tier orders via Fedex. Theres unboxings on the heroquest reddit and youtube now. It looks good from what I can see. The minis are boardgame plastics but look to have held most the render details. Only feth ups Ive seen people point out so far is the Made In China print being on the bonus tavern tile instead of the throwaway punch card and one person with a mini missing an arm.

Im still wondering when EBGames is getting the Australian orders. Estimated dates have been jumping all over the place from October to December, back to November 2nd then November 17 last I checked.
I keep picturing Tom Hanks and Wilson playing my copy of heroquest somewhere in the south pacific.

Yeah, they're being shipped alright. By FedEx, with signature confirmation required, as if I'm home for that.
Had to go manage the delivery details to have it held at a FedEx location for pickup, and for some damn stupid reason all the available FedEx locations were at least 10 miles from my house.

Shame I just heard about this now. Would have backed it in a second! Any news on when the rest of the world can get this?

Edit: this i was wrong as you can see in the quote from the post below

never unless you can get a 2nd hand one from one of the backers, it was a one time only haslab project from what they said

The new HeroQuest initially launched via a crowdfunding campaign on publisher Hasbro’s own platform HasLab, quickly passing its $1 million target. At the time, the game was announced as exclusively available in the US and Canada, with no word on an international release.

Now, Hasbro has announced that HeroQuest will see a UK retail release next autumn, alongside its arrival with backers of the crowdfunding campaign. It will be exclusive to online retailer Zavvi, which will add its pre-orders to the ongoing campaign to unlock stretch goals.

There is a catch: only the more expensive Mythic Tier edition of HeroQuest will be released in the UK. Priced at £149.99, the bundle includes the core game - available separately for $99.99 (£77) on HasLab - alongside additional exclusive miniatures, rebooted original HeroQuest expansions Return of the Witch Lord and Kellar’s Keep, and other content unlocked during the campaign.

Not sure if that's happened or not, but seems after that it will indeed just go away. Which seems odd.

I'm kinda pissed, my friend who backed the campaign in the final week received his wednesday. My roomate, who backed about halfway through got his shipping notice yesterday and will be delivered today. And me, who backed in the first few hours, still has no notice, just the original "label created". All of us got the same Mythic Tier, so I don't know if they're grabbing labels at random or if they are shipping them out backwards. The shipping warehouse is 30 minutes away from my house, I could have picked it up myself any time this week if that had been an option

As far as other shipments go, when my friend got his wednesday the Fedex driver just left it on his porch. No knock, no signature. Friend only noticed it as he left for an errand. Might just be a lazy driver, might be the whole "signature required" isn't as big a deal as it seems

Same case here. It really seems like its reverse chronological order. I ordered mine when it was around $700k, and haven't heard a peep.... just waiting. I'm just happy they're shipping them out before the retail release, as I know with some prior special products fund raising things they've done; so I was bracing myself for that.

My copy arrived yesterday. Has anyone else who received theirs had damaged miniatures? It looks like the trays weren't quite large enough, and all of my miniatures with maces have bent maces.

Hopefully a bit of a hot water soak will sort them out.

I'm glad I checked here - found a notice in my e-mail that mine is on the way and should arrive around Monday.

If it's good enough, I think I'll sell my old copy (original, complete) to pay off the new copy. I can't imagine I'd need to keep both versions.

It never ends well

Got my notice yesterday afternoon and the box came this morning. Overall I'm very pleased, sent the afternoon looking through stuff, punching tokens and prepping models, all mine had bent maces like above but not as bad as I was expecting, all the swords are straight and surprisingly the staffs and halberds are straight. Detail is a little shallow, but there's almost no flash or moldlines to clean

I had planned on rebasing everything on Renedra stone textured bases, but that's a hard no now that I see em in person, WAY too much work and the PVC bases are much better than I was anticipating. Got everything washed and going to prime it tomorrow, get started on the heroes

edit: hot water trick works perfectly on the bent weapons, all my orcs and chaos warriors have straight weapons now

My FedEx guy rang and wanted the signature, but I knew it was coming, was keen to keep it from the missus' prying eyes, and dashed down to pick it up. He didn't have much time to put it down, let alone walk away.

I play...

Sigh.

Mine arrived today.
Some bent weapons but nothing too bad. I removed the small box of minis from the Mythic box and moved the dragon to that space. The compartment he was in was bending his wing claws so much I was afraid they'd break off.

For just under 200 shipped I'm very happy with what I got. 3 extra quest books, 4 new characters, some additional figures and alternate gender hero sculpts. Excellent!

I'm a happy camper. Played the first 5 missions a year ago with my family using a friend's borrowed copy and now we're ready to continue our own journey!

Got some work done on them, here's 2 days of painting.

Spoiler:

And the coveted scale comparison shot

As you can hopefully see, everything is close size-wise to WHFB, but only the dwarf is heroic scale so they don't mesh very well with WHFB figures. Dwarf and barbarian both have some great detail and were fun to paint, Elf was OK and has some deep detail that's easy to paint but also some shallow filigree on the armor and boots that doesn't pop nearly enough, makes it look busy instead of detailed. The wizard is just horrendous, worst figure in the entire set. I hate pretty much everything about the wizard figure from the bland color scheme to the shallow folds in the tunic to the almost nonexistant face. I love the designs of the new stuff and the artwork is fantastic, I just with the detail on the heroes was deeper. Not even sharper, just deeper

Monsters are fun do far, Necromancer suffers from shallow detail but everything else is super easy to paint with washes and contrast I like the Dread Warriors a lot more than their render. Skeletons should have less stuff, they're a bit cartoony with their giant paul=drons, or else everything else should be a little more cartoony to match. Abominations grew on me a lot once I had the model. Going to do the orcs and gobbos tomorrow, no opinion on them just yet.

Terrain is fantastic. Easily as good as anything from Mantic's Terrain Crate, saving that for last and it should paint up both quickly and easily.

Those look great.

Makes me want to paint my set when it gets here. Pretty sure I'll need to source new paints tho as most mine are probably ruined from sitting for years again.

My Mythic Tier arrived this week.

Overall very happy. The family and I had played the first 5 quests with a borrowed set before we had to return it so we jumped right into quest 6 on Tuesday night.

Looks great, except for the too-tight trays and a few bent figures. I took the mini box out of the Mythic tray and put the dragon in that space because his wing horns were being so bent I was worried about them. The dice also seem cheap. Despite that, the figures are good enough to want to paint.

Almost $200 shipped is more than I've ever spent for a family board game but I'm pleased with what I got. The two boxed expansions look great. That the stretch goals contain 3 more quest books, 3 new characters, alternate gender hero figs and other extra minis and dice definitely feels like a solid value.

I got mine last Saturday. Everything was perfect in mine. But I know that hasn't been the case for some people.

If yours comes with any broken or missing pieces Hasbro is doing replacements, you just need to reach out through their site and they've been getting back to people within 3 days. Downside, while they are doing replacements, they don't appear to have replacements parts in their warehouse, so you'll likely be waiting a while.

Got my copy today, very excited about that. As I looked it over the phrase "rough and ready" came to mind. The minis are a slightly rubbery plastic that can probably take regular use without worry. Kids can drop them, you can chuck them in the box when you're done with them, they're good to go.

Cards are on the thin side, cardboard counters are on the thin side, game box is pretty thin. The minis are chonky, everything else is thin. I think the KS crowd who are looking for archival quality board games to go into a museum may be a little disappointed, but if you want to play this board game with no more concern for wear and tear than you had in 1989 I think you'll be quite happy.

It probably could be considered pricy for what you get given that it's a crowdfunding campaign, but I definitely went in with my eyes open about Hasbro and what to expect. And the extra campaign books and dragon are pretty neat. Now I can use my new game copy to finish playtesting my solo HeroQuest rules too.
