Got mine yesterday, compared it against the original.

It is superior in every way possible, and the minis are abso-frag-alutly superior.

Can't wait to play - I apparently played the hell out of the old game, most of the old character pad had been used - with such classic characters as Conan, Merlin, Flint and Legolas having been used so long ago!

It never ends well

Also, I was watching a YouTube about it, and they pointed out a Frozen Horror expansion set was lurking in the background of an official Hasbro video.

I really hope this makes for a solid and successful return. I cannot stress enough just how important HeroQuest was to me as a kid.

Whilst pretty basic, it’s still a solid dungeoneering experience, and one literally all ages can enjoy.

The hobby needs HeroQuest. And whilst the original lead thousands to GW’s door, a general purpose Hasbro one might help every business in the, erm, business, attract new blood.

Got my copy a few days ago, no complaints about the quality of anything.

My son (5), almost immediately wanted to play, and we've run through a couple quests so far. I've been playing loose with the rules, but he's already smashed a gargoyle through a wall, befriended a goblin named Snickers, and nearly abandoned Sir Ragnar.

Fast and lose is definitely a good approach to take with HQ. I love it but there are already enough quirks and gaps in the rules that keeping it fun and moving is the order of the day with my family. I don't pull too many punches with them but my first goal and role is not playing as Zargon with an eye to beating the players.

There is a fair bit of well deserved frustration on the web regarding the trays the figures come in which are so tight that repeated use is almost guaranteed to break some figures.

My solution is to flip two of the trays over and do a bit of pinching.

Main tray:
Flip the tray over. I pinched/squished the Abomination indentions a bit so they and the demon would fit easier Now everything sits nicely in the flipped tray without sticking above the edge so you can slide it back in the cardboard sleeve. All the extra heroes from Mythic Tier will now fit in the main figure tray too.

Furniture tray:
For the furniture tray I keep it face up and just pinched in the nubs that held the pieces in place. The furniture now goes in and out easily. Kept the tight fit for the rats and skulls for now.

Mythic Tray:
For the Mythic tray I flip it over but no pinching required. The small box is nested in the corner. Will probably just throw out the small box figure insert.

At this moment my kids are having a blast making setups with the game pieces and I'm not biting my nails worrying about damage.

Battlefoam announced one of coming but no ETA.

Even if I get around to painting these figures. I'll probably just varnish then well and still use the reversed trays.

Companion app is out on the Google Play store, hard to find since it's new. It's...OK I guess? voiceover gets annoying very quickly, and drag-to-move is a pain on a phone. Also uses a lot of resources, my phone was really hot and had burned through 20% power just playing through the first quest. Might be better on a PC emulator like Bluelight or a good quality android tablet

HASBRO POISED TO RE-LAUNCH HEROQUEST IN EUROPE

Hasbro Announces Future Plans to Bring the Popular Role-Playing Game to Market in the Region

PAWTUCKET, RI – Nov 15, 2021 – Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS) announced today it is set to re-launch the HeroQuest brand in Europe. The return of HeroQuest, an epic, high-fantasy, role-playing board game made in 1989 where the fate of the world is in the players’ hand, was officially announced last year for fans to purchase via a Haslab crowdfunding campaign. The Haslab HeroQuest game features new art, premium miniature figures and exclusive quest books for an enhanced gameplay experience and increased collectability. The brand will be developed under Hasbro’s Avalon Hill label.

European-based gaming company Ludofilia formally renounced ownership of its HeroQuest European trademark and its tabletop game project will be rebranded, though the contents will remain unchanged. Ludofilia will now be offering fans who previously supported Ludofilia’s independent crowdfunding campaign the OPTION to receive Hasbro’s version of the game, Ludofilia's rebranded game, or both.

“The fans have been asking, and we have answered! We’re thrilled to expand the reach of the HeroQuest brand to Europe,” said Angus Walker, Global Brand Lead, Avalon Hill at Hasbro. Stay tuned for more news from Hasbro on the upcoming launch of HeroQuest and the game coming to European fans. You can also find more information on HeroQuest on the official Hasbro Pulse site here.

I'll believe it when it's in my hands but I'll be opting for the swap hopefully this will have a good outcome I never expected to get either. I wonder if it was part of the deal to release the trademark? (if indeed this is a real offer I can't find anything from Hasbro to back it up and it's supposed to be a joint statement)

What the actual... ?

Not that I trust a single email that those guys send out, but if this is true... wow.

I think that (not getting my hopes up) if it does happen, taking the Hasbro version and running might be the smart move. At least we know that product exists and is a known quantity, rather than a bunch of photos of boxes of resin minis and unknown rules.

Agreed. The smart option is to take the replacement from Hasbro rather than wait another X years for Gamezone to squander whatever money he's received from Hasbro to finish his TseuQuest.

Gamezone has this posted on their website. I don't know what is 'CANJE HQ,' another website?
Spoiler:
Ludofilia's tabletop game is being rebranded as TseuQuesT.

- Ludofilia, in an accord with Hasbro, has renounced all its valid Heroquest trademarks throughout Europe. Ludofilia used those trademarks to cover its version of the board game that it offered in crowdfunding and pre-sale. From now on the board game will be RENAMED TseuQuesT. The exact contents or the game itself will remain unchanged.

-It only the name has changed, all of the board game content remains unchanged, except for the use of the new brand TseuQuesT to encompass all its components.

- Both Backers and pre-sale customers have had to endure with extreme patience the continuous delays of the official launch of our board game. Finally, the foreseen delivery date by the European-based printing company is for the end of the first quarter of 2022. If all goes well, from that date we will start shipping your games.

-Optionally, Backers and pre-sales customers will have the chance to exchange their reserved copies of the Ludofilia game for copies of the Hasbro version of Heroquest: ONLY 1 FOR BACKER (more information on CANJE HQ)

-This exclusive exchange offer for crowdfunding backers and pre-sales made by customers until the day before this announcement -November 15, 2021-

-From this moment, any new client who wants to pre-buy the TseuQuesT board game can do so here.

-The current price of the TseuQuesT is the same as offered during the crowdfunding campaign, and will remain until the day of its official launch, at which time its price will be adjusted upwards.

We greatly thank Hasbro for their professionalism and cordiality since our first contact at the beginning of 2013 until now.

Way to go cheap with the name to avoid needing to order a new logo xD

"CANJE HQ" is just "exchange HeroQuest" untranslated.

Ahaha. I guess now they will redesign the "TseuQuest" logo in a way where the 'tail' of the letter Q is straight down the middle because the title is being mirrored, and then will promptly get sued by id Software for copying the Quake 'Q', which in turn will lead to another ~10 year 'delay' :p

Does that Ludofilia post imply that a backer who opts to exchange gets 1 copy (of the base hasbro HQ) for everything the ordered from the Ludofilia KS?

i guess even if it does it's probably still going to be smart to take the exchange and run

It looks like it's limited to 1 per backer but I'd imagine if you ordered more than 1 copy you could swap 1 and take the rest as the new Tseuquest game as to whether it's 1 all in GZ pledge for a base Hasbro game it's not clear, they are about the same price wise I'd take the swap the GZ pledge doesn't offer a huge amount more to risk waiting another 5 years.

There is a Gamestop, EBGames/Zing exclusive knight character expansion up for preorder now too. It appears to already be presold out on EBGames site for Australia. Guess the headlice saw it first. I probably wouldn't have bought it at $38 AU anyway, no way I'll pay whatever scalpers end up demanding.

I'm not sure that there's much value in a $15 expansion that has two (board game) minis and small stack of cards for an additional hero that you don't need and has no real connection to the old game. I would be very surprised if it sold much.

Seems pre-orders are sold out. Looking at their cards, they seem pretty useful.

Not quite as fighty as a Barbarian, but solid defence, and able to protect other characters either by negating damage against them, or taking on the wandering monster.
