were any of the old finecast dark eldar characters that went away missing from the Legends book?
If so this could be a return of them?

Normal characters were replaced 1:1 with plastic kits and the resin special characters (Lelith, Rakarth) are still available.
The other special characters never had models or are OOP (Vect, Kruellagh) so long they never got Legend rules.

Wet Drip Ending? AoS just had a very favourably received campaign and lore book; Bloodbowl is getting a 3rd season; Necromunda is getting phyrrcats and just had another army book drop. Granted 40K has lagged a little with the necron and marine content, but its been a huge year for updates, especially for Necrons.
Unless there's new edition and 100's of new models all the time some people are never happy.
I mean
Yes, there are loads of new models- Necrons and Marines.
It’s good that Necrons are getting an update, less so that Marines are. Yes, it makes perfect financial sense for GW, but I think it’s pretty damn rich to tell people to stop grumbling when they’re playing with 20-30 year old sculpts!

It might shock you that space marines are also in that list of armies with 20+ year old models iirc, pretty sure the bike squad was 2nd ed.

I don't know if that really counts as Space Marines just got Primaris bikers, which in all but GW coming out and saying "Firstborn don't exist" are the new SM bikes. GW pretty much only has rules for normal marines because 1). Lots of people have them and would be upset to not be able to use their current miniatures and 2). They have different equipment options which mean people occasionally buy a box.
That all said, I do think it's good that GW "finished up" (though this probably won't be the case....) the Primaris range with some CC troops. I do think stuff like "Heavy Intercessors" and what not could have definitely been put lower down the priority list when all the plastic guard infantry are 20 years old and look terrible compared to modern sculpts (there are other kits in the 40k range that are as old or older also, but haven't aged as poorly). It's one thing when an Elite choice is a kit that has aged poorly. It's entirely different when the core troop choice in your army has.

Not at all. There’s a difference, however, between one or two units and all- or most- of an army.

Slaanesh is the greatest foe the Eldar have, but also the greatest twisting agent for turning Eldar to Chaos. So that there are Eldar who worship chaos and Slaanesh is no shock. If anything it might be more abnormal that we don't have corrupted Eldar models. When you read some of the Craftworld stories you realise how much of an Eldar's personality has to be reined in and controlled and managed to keep them from overindulging in excess and being tempted swiftly to being corrupted by Chaos.

While they should exist in the lore, where would they find design space for the table? We already have evil spiky elves. What would Chaos Eldar add to the game? That would not be stepping on another factions toes pretty hard.
I’m not saying they couldn’t do it, or that there is not a huge amount of potential visually and modeling for it. But as value added to the game, I just don’t see it happening.

We probably will see Chaos Eldar in games like Blackstone Fortress one day. After all, Chao Aelves are a thing in AoS. One of the Warcry bands has a chaos aelf, which is just an aelf with fangs. But the new Morathi short story has a band of aeldar suffering from mutation by being too close to distilled chaos.

My money is on DE + Slanesh for 40k + AOS and DG + Nurgle (maggotkin?) for 40k & AOS respectively. Reasons: We were promised the first Xenos codex and that image looks like a DE kabalite type thing. Also DE needs a bunch of stuff. Also both sets of groups like purple & green... Trust meh, trust meh.. it all makes sense

You're forgetting Kruella The Vile (if that's how you spell it)!
Not a great model, or concept, so easy to forget.

Yep those lost DE Characters are in the same generation of the lost tyranid ones - when GW went through a phase (prior to Chapterhouse) of adding more and more characters to armies, but never giving them a model even if they did army releases for that force. It's one bonus of "no models no rules" that at least now we aren't left waiting codex after codex after codex for "models to appear" that never do.

Remember that GW is great at previewing things that they've already shown off via WarCom, so there's every chance that the big Death Guard reveal is just the two models that we know of and they'll talk a bit about the Codex.
I'd be shockingly surprised if Emp's Children even came up.

In fairness they've done more of that this year because everything has been royally messed up.
That said confirmation of previewed items at a reveal event is always good because often when its stuff they've shown before; the reveal event will come with a date or at least a date range.

It's not when you base a preview around something we already know about. They've done that a few times now. "Thanks for joining our stream where we'll show you a minute and a half trailer of cameras swooping over a bunch of models we've already previewed whilst a smoke machine goes off and we use music from one of the various video games that have been made using our IP!" It's either that or another Kill Team "teaser" where we learnt nothing (other than the distinct possibility that Necron and Marine players are going to be waiting even longer for their Flayed Ones/Assault Intercessors).

Well don't forget not everyone views GW community pages each week. There's likely a significant number of customers who only view the website now and then and the rest of the time might only pay attention when a major event comes up and the emails land to remind people and all the social media sites go nuts about it.

Chaos Eldar have been in the lore for quite a while, but according to the lore they were small in number and generally restricted themselves to the Crone Worlds. The reason why there weren't all that many of them is because Slaanesh is really good at slurping up their souls. And iirc, it tends not to wait until the Eldar in question dies if said Eldar is closely aligned with Slaanesh (i.e. a worshipper). So Slaanesh-worshipping Eldar expose themselves to Slaanesh, who promptly turns them into an appetizer. Only particularly strong ones - i.e. the ones that hang out in and around the Crone Worlds - manage to avoid this fate.
It's possible that this has changed, though.

I think people that are getting their hopes up for DG will be disappointed. They already have a pretty new and pretty complete range, I don't see GW doing a major expansion soon. I'm with you in that I think they will get their new character and terrain. I think the other thing that will be revealed for them will be their Combat Patrol or a reboxing of the Dark Imperium stuff (since they have a few mini options only found in that set). Possibly both. Maybe a brief look at the Codex too.
DE will probably have Lilith shown off and likely a new character (also confirmation they are the January book).
We may get a bit more on the Kill Team front.
That's all I really expect for 40k.
I think the big reveal will be the new units for Hedonites in AoS.
We will most certainly be seeing at least one new Warband for Underworlds too, as the starter has already been covered in the last preview.
ME SBG will most likely be another resin character or two.
Necromunda will be Van Saar book and it's affiliated plastic kit.
