Overall, its a very bland and uninspiring model.
Yep, special character space marine with bolter and powersword, check.
various gubbins and prominent chapter icons to lower usability, check.
weird quirks that are off from usual SM models, check.

At least it looks better than his original model.

Hair looks like Lord Edmund in the first series of Blackadder - not a good look.

Ooh, possibly good conversion fodder. Easy enough to make 30k looking. Head wise? Not sure. Sometimes these suffer from poor painting and can look ok when painted better. Hair definitely looks more 'monk toilet bowl' than military undercut, but a little scalpel work could potentially fix that.

The square feet don't particularly bother me, but they seem like an odd choice.

Overall I think this model suffers from trying to go 100% from the artwork, instead of applying their own design standards.

The hair looks like the hard chocolate topping you put on ice cream.

A headswap and filing off the ultramarine iconography would go a long way to improve the overall look of the mini.

Depending on his rules I may use him as ventris or kit bash with the indomitus captain to have an ultramarine specific captain with the iconography.
However even if I use him as Ventris he is having a head swap

Whoever designed this model’s hair needs a kick in the nuts. Looks like they slapped a toupee on him.

Edit - Actually a kick in the rear would also be totally justified, that head is just wrong all over the show, how could they think that looked like Ventris.

And what’s going on with the Battletech feet?

This will make a decent deathwatch captain for me, at least. Otherwise it's pretty boring.

What's the story with the ordo xenos/ inquisition symbol on his leg? I have read exactly zero fluff involving ventris

I do like how DW is now a great way for me to use chapter specific sculpts.

They actually spent thousand of dollar to approve the "Simple Jack" haircut sculpt.

First they made Tommy Wiseau, now they made Simple jack. I'm waiting for Nicolas Cage.

Haircut makes him look like he has a fivehead. Not poorly sculpted, but it makes him look like he made a poor choice in hairstyle. Would be cooler if it was tonsured and just had this style looking from the front.

It’s a new marine organ that Cawl has developed. It looks repulsive and keeps Tyranids from attacking because they don’t want it up the gene pool.

Thats why you should always include a fancy helmet in your character sculpts.

How do you get this model then if it’s a release with a specific novel? Will the model be available in stores or is it limited edition or GW site only...?
