They are awesome so I support this. How would you do it? What to add?

AoS has LOST DRAGONS since starting! It's got a serious shortage of regular purebred dragons let alone wyverns, wyrms, wurms and such.

So before we can even consider Ogordragons getting a faction, regular purebred dragons need extensive conservation, habitat recreation and breeding programs to get up to number!

I wrote a whole army book for them 15 years ago because I wanted them as their own faction superbad.

The concept of Kalgalanos the black and Krakenrok the black being siblings was the mythological origin for my prehistoric old world, the two lineages diverging and the children of krakenrok turning to chaos when the polar gates fell while the offspring of Kalgalanos allied with the elves.

Already exists. It's called Beasts of Chaos. It's rare knowledge that the true brains and power behind the Herds is the lightning of the Shaggoths and their children.

You can run them as their own army with BoC allegiance.

But more to the point, why would anyone want to change your mind? Seems an unreasonable request.

I don't think I've ever even seen a Thunderscorn model on the table.

Well if gw were to make faction out of them likely new models.

And gw has made entire factions out of 2 boxes

One of the things I love AoS is so many concepts once reserved for the strictly theoretical or at best a list in WD can now become armies. 'What if black orcs were their own army?' 'What if witch elves were their own army?' So who knows what could come?

Still holding out hope for an army of snotlings.

I would prefer them being a unit option in a reboot of basic Orcs & Goblins as an army. AoS needs that, because the other greenskin armies (mainly Orruks, but GSG too) are defined by how they deviate from the norm. Without a norm there's a big narrative hole. And presumably Orcs & Goblins will need models for the Old World reboot anyways...

Its 2 units, and its been with Beasts from the start, let it stay in the BoC book. Now making their Subfaction better, I'm all for that and have been asking for that for years.

Hey, I'll absolutely take more Dragon Ogres! I love those mutie boys. My Shaggoth is one of my absolute favourite miniatures.

If the game wants to explode into the "every individual WHFB unit needs to be its own separate faction!" mess that GW tried in the original WHFB->Sigmar conversion PDFs there will be so many factions they'll never be able to fit an update to any single faction into the release schedule ever again, they'll be so busy releasing new factions.

I mean i definitely would not mind seeing new snotlings in the same vein as the blood bowl team... it's the same part of me that would make an ogor army consisting almost entirely of gnoblars if i could/had enough of them.

If we can have a faction that's mostly elfs with different weapons, or ogres with different weapons, or humans with different weapons or dwarfs with different weapons, we can have a faction of dragon ogres with different weapons!

They should make a Dragon Ogre Blood Bowl team.

I'd like to see that-Though I'd settle for giving them stats that reflect the models. Of course, that'd mean that Beasts of Chaos get to have a good unit, which GW would never allow, but here's what I'd do to them: +1 damage to all weapon profiles (not claws though), +1 rend to all weapon profiles(claws too?), A 3+ armour save. It really annoys me that Dragon Ogres have such a weedy profile. They used to be the most powerful race in Warhammer. Now they do less damage per hit than regular ogres.
While GW are at it they could fix minotaurs and Ghorgons too. Most the BofC stuff needs a stat boost really.

As far as a faction I'd love it The plastic kit is a good start. I guess they'd need a new leader kit (shaggoth with options for a named character), maybe an elite kit (larger and more heavily armoured), a ranged kit (giant war bows-maybe female for a bit of variety?) and some sort of chaff unit. Reptilan war hounds or human cultists that worship the shaggoth. Something along those lines

There's actually a huge amount of really nice conversions out there for Shaggoths. I don't have photos handy at the moment, but Astreia Solbright's mount has been a favorite for the 'body' of the Shaggoth. The upper torso has varied but some of the better ones have used the Ogroid Thaumaturge or Myrmidon's upper body.

I had the kitbash of a stardrake and a bloodthirster in mind.

Magmadroth might be better than Stardrake.

The classic Shaggoth is one of the best ever GW models, so I hope any new model is in the same style.

Only problem with a new shaggoth is that IMO it should be the size of a Warlord titan.

They keep growing as they age and Krakenrok the black is supposed to be an entire mountain range.

So they really should only release Gargant+ sized dragon ogres IMO.

I agree the scale of the new shaggoth model would be outrageous. Over the weekend I was looking at my warcry stuff and realized
that the old giant was about the same size as the current Fomoroid Crusher. I have a few of the older Dragon Ogres but none
of the new plastic ones, so I am unsure of any kind of scale change but everything seems to be getting huge.
