That's less gloves being too long, more like poncho hiding her shoulders and making arms look shorter.

As for hair, it's probably supposed to be evoking the stupid wigs UK judges wear, but that's reference will be lost on 99% of the audience.

I think its a really nice model.

- The pose is different from anything else currently in the Sister's line. For those of you with poor visual recognition skills, she's bending at the knees with her shoulders lowered, gripping her weapon and ready for battle. The pose is a nice alternative to the typical 'waving the sword in the air for some reason' pose that already dominates the line.

- Her design fits well with the rest of the line while being both distinct and novel.

- Her face is both characterful and has an interesting expression. She looks like someone specific instead of just a generic Sister.

Overall I think she's great.

Have to say I like her a lot. A bit stiff the way she's holding her mace thing but generally like the pose and (oddly for a GW model) the face.

Getting a real 'headmistress about to punish a naughty schoolchild' vibe.

They've been talking about continuing it as a regular feature, given the reaction--but said it would require some time to get things in motion.

I quite like the model - but not keen on the name or role - oh well - also the price is going to hurt.

Interested to see how Close Combat orientated she is.

I think it'd've been better had the stave not been parallel to the ground - say at a 20-30 degree angle, with the pose tweaked so she was in a combat-ready position, but not in a full-on smiting pose.

Traitor guard would be a good codex supplement for when they update Codex guard.

Cool model, at least with the helmet. And probably good for sisters to get another character (unless she's elite rather than HQ, but as a chaplain-alike, I'd hope HQ).

That name, though...
Dogma-ta is weird, but at least the meaning is clear for everything but the suffix. (Though it sounds like someone's ordering a shot of dogma down at the pub: Dogma, ta!)

But its mostly going to be referred to by a pile of bad Dog jokes.

Upcoming sisters release is looking even bigger.

Dogmata is actually just the plural for Dogma. Still doesn't make much sense in context and something like Dogmatrix would've been more fitting imo.

Better than calling it a Dogmatix, given Asterisx!

Looking back at it, it does seem to be in more an executioner pose as described a few posts back.

It’s still not quite the full shilling though.

Psyches are out, so a chaplain equivalent allows a buffing unit.

Still could use a flier. Bring back the aquilla lander and give it some bling and guns?

Bikers potentially as well. Using bikes that look like the Legion Outriders from FW would fit both the more curved aesthetic and use of deimos pattern rhinos.

And a Land Raider Redeemer/ Mobile shrine would fit with the loophole abuse. Yes Land Raiders were decreed Marines only. But this isn't a land raider, it's a Pious annihilator built from the same base STC instead!

Huh. Thats my obscure linguistic fact for the day. Thank you (really, sincerely- I find that sort of thing interesting).
But it makes even less sense, since she's alone and not part of a squad.

Oh, no. I'll take this every time over the 'dynamic' models. Especially when they're supposed to be dancing on top of each other. (GW, that was vaguely cute (but mostly silly, even for squigs) once. Doing it twice more was just asinine)

Lord Damocles wrote:It's good that we've hit such critical mass with Sisters now that we're replicating the role of Preachers/Missionaries, I guess.

I dunno, I like the idea of pure Sisters armies being possible, with no outsiders filling various standard (for warhammer) roles. Though it sounds like this one is a morale-booster rather than an attack booster, so I don't know how useful that is.

She seems remarkably simple for a character model (else needlessly complicated) but I'm curious what the kitbash potential is... she might be a nice Junith stand-in herself but if I want to field more than one Dogmata it might be better to convert one.

And of course, looks like the elite slot is getting even more cramped... maybe she'll be slotless if you have mortifiers in your army?

I really like her, the armor, pose and even the face work for me. They should have name her a Dominatress or Domina Superior, though. Looks like there's an alternate power pack or icon at least, too.

I was saving mine for the Immolator, since it gives off stainglass window vibes. But Piety and Pain sold out, so no discounted immolator for me

I hope the Chaplain isn't something like an imagifer and can actually be used in an HQ role. We need more options for SoB.

Also, can we come up with a more clever nickname? I get Dogmata, since it's dogma, etc. But why not dog-mater and give her a lil cyber mastiff?

I mean they could have Gulliman repeal that decree for SOB or add them to the list of what is considered a marine under Imperial doctrine. Or just interpret it as allowing power armor troops to use Land Raiders. The fluff wouldn't be hard with him back and it would breath some life into that kit, at least regarding future usage.

Or rather than just porting another Marine unit into the Sisters list, make an actual church on tracks to carry the faithful.

Maybe we could get Fateris Militia/Zealots, a Cardinal, plastic Crusaders/Pontifex Guard, A big 'ol Aquila shrine carried by pilgrims like the crucifix the crusaders had in Kingdom of Heaven.
Or just bung in a Predator and a Chaplain. Whatever, I guess.

Although the helmet improves the model quite a bit, the positioning of her iron halo/crown makes it impossible for her to ever open her helmet's visor. I wonder if they'll eventually release stylized SoB helmets, with faces of saints, etc. If SM can get skull helmets, SoB can get angelic ones

I actually couldn't be less excited over the new model. It just looks sort of boring and not really very interesting. I mean I get its a sisters model but it lacks any real spirit to it, for me anyways.

Maybe it's just me and my old eyes can't behold the glory, or maybe I'm just taking crazy pills but it looks like a boring, dull, bland sculpt of a dour sister. However to go by other people it's the next coming of salvation.

Edit: I see I'm not alone, that's good as I ran out of crazy pills the other day.

Really taking a minute to stare at her, she looks like something of an angry frumpasaurus. Or someone took one of willy wonkas factory workers, made them white and a female, stretched them out and helped her put on a poncho and told her to take the most uptight stance she could while making a mini juggernaut helmet she's forced to wear to hide her juice box sucking lips.

All told, what a waste of design space. I usually love chaplains and if this is a sisters chaplain, the rules better be tight as this is a mini that needs them fine gaking rules to move me to want to add Madame Frumpsin into any list, let alone my collection. If anyone is going to say its a testament to her not being a busty lady, no, not at all, she'd be a crap male model as well with that stance, poor paint job, lack of any redeeming feature outside blind love of all that is sisters.

The Raging Heroes "Ardanna, Pillar of Faith" mini usually gets deployed as a priest proxy for players who don't want to use male models in their Adepta Sororitas army. However, she will now also make an excellent Dogmata proxy.

I think it's a bad sculpt, first of all: the face is GW trademark hideous, the pose looks really off like she's squatting, and the weapon is boring as hell. It looks like they took the Judicar and a House Cawdor model and smashed them together to make this one.

Character bloat is a drain on the game. We do not need every new model release to be characters across factions. I know sisters are getting those I can't remember the name, baby dreadknight centurions, but for the most part most factions get a slew of Character models recently to the exclusion of actual units.

The lore makes no sense to me. Sisters are zealous, pious individuals devoted to the God Emperor - one Order literally flays their own hands out of devotion. These are not a group that need someone watching over them on the battlefield looking for people to censure. The Guard need a Commissar to shoot deserters, the Space Marines have Chaplains to keep order since we know Marines are far from infallible, but Sisters do not need that role. On top of that, why would this individual be the one to decree that certain Sisters become Repentia or Mortifiers? If I'm remembering rightly, most Repentia are actually Sisters who feel they have shamed themselves and VOLUNTEER for it. James Swallow's Faith and Fire had a Sister ask her Canoness to allow her to become Repentia because she failed in her duty by being the only survivor of her squad. And to me, a Canoness in the role of a kind of Mother Superior handling out punishments etc. is far more fitting than this judge character.

It's also yet another excuse to trot out one monopose model with a headswap and charge £25 for it.
