Simple question, no poll, open answer... Greatest model ever, destined to break sales records, or most likely to be scanned and printed, or some of both?

Personally, I love the model. Priced out of my range, though easily a fantastic Xmas gift for anyone on the list who won't be able to justify 30Euro on a novelty model for her or himself (Hint, me! Hit me up for shipping info if you feel like Santa enough to send me one...).

I think it looks fine for what it is. I have no desire to own it though, even if someone were to give it to me for free.

I like it. It's certainly festive, but plenty silly as we've come to expect from grots and the Christmas models in general.

I'll probably use it as a bomb squig if I do end up getting one.

the first to play with.
The second? I'll paint it up, put it inside one of those empty DIY ornament bulbs, & it'll join a fair # of other oddities decorating my Christmas tree.

I still don't understand why GW are using a random minor character with no festive connection as their Christmas model(s), and not, say, Phanta Claws from Necromunda.

It's lame, except as a tongue-in-cheek commentary on their own evolution as a company - turning the leader of the GRC into a shill for the most capitalistic and consumer-focused of all holidays.

I want a real Red Gobbo model, not Christmas junk.

Yes, I should probably rename myself to Scrouge.

I think I still regret not getting the last version. I'm building up a Snakebites army, a Gobbo on squig ticks two boxes, so I should get it .

Dressing up and celebrating a 'Umie myth about someone who originally existed to make sure children of every class got something on a holiday sounds exactly up the Red Gobbo's alley, not his fault the corrupt Imperial Gits perverted the meaning. ;p

Would be much hotter on it if it wasn't the Red Gobbo again, but this time he's on a squig. Like more than a few other posters I was hoping this would be Black Gobbo.

Purely for selfish reasons, ofc, an xmas themed fantasy gobbo would be excellent for the mordheim goblins I've been working on.

If people like him, great, but pretty squarely in the "I have no desire to pay Japan prices for this" bracket for me.

Because throwbacks to 90s GW gets them positive buzz and unearned praise online and some nostalgia buzz. Thats it. I doubt the guy who made the model in CAD had even heard of the Red Gobbo before someone shoved the fluff under his nose.

so envious, and excellent idea. That said, I can imagine inserting a number of dudes, dioramas, ...
in that image, there are many ideas, for gifts also - I mean, why should presents be only under the tree? Maybe for Easter? I mean, marines might fit inside of larger plastic eggs, and unnassembled might get a squad into a larger egg...

And what better way to wreck human society, but from the inside, a maggot in the brain, a constant incessant unstobable and unquenchable need for plastic shy... te I mean toys, yeah, think of them as toys, no, as hobby. Yes! These are for art! And, the stoopit 'umies will pay more. Much, much more... Seems like mission accomplished there, real Blood Axe level smarts.

I cannot imagine what it must cost in Japan... I know that I would be thinner if I lived there.

I'm not sure yet. If he gets some cool rules, then maybe. The model is not as cool as the last one and one is sufficient for holiday season games.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Not sure. It just didn't strike as "cool, I need that!" like the previous red gobbo did and for these kind of things I just go by gut feeling.
It might just be the paint job though, a lot of the beast snagga stuff looks a lot better in reality than it does in the official pictures.

It's the Red Gobbo! on a squig!

What's not to like? I paint 'em up, put 'em in a snowglobe with some fake snow, and have a fun 40K Christmas decoration. It's something different to paint and fun. I'm happy to have another this year.

Friend of mine absolutely loves it.

I am uninterested. Don't dislike it, but it does nothing for me, even from a "collector's" standpoint, which I usually like..

Complete disinterest. Not even revulsion or dislike, but just... whatever. The worst sort of reaction for any sort of artistic, creative or even collectible product.

At least the first time there was a level of 'oh, I see what they're doing, that's... kinda funny.' Now its just in the leftover shop of indifferent novelty gifts.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

I don't wanna piss in anyone's cornflakes, but looking at the promo image...
...does it feel to anyone else like they've actually been quite stingy with the redesign? Like, he's wearing different goggles, but I think they've used the same CAD sculpt, just flipped for his beard and maybe a few other places, and his expression and pose are really similar.

It's fun. I like it enough to look at the picture, say hehe, and show it to my son.

I don't like it enough to spend money on it, or spend time painting it that would be better spent on my already-massive backlog of models for my various armies and other games...

This pretty much sums it up for me too. even as a collector’s piece I’m just not bothered. Not knocking that who want or will get on, but to me it's just meh.
