I get the impression as per the startfish, what goes in doesn't come out, so the monsters are horrible with permanent fatal effects on the humans.

I wonder if the DCU will have the guts to centre it around Waller and not a Hero like the MCU does. We have saved the world! Whilst she has protected the American way of life, several donors and increased inequality 2 points. But hey, people have heroes now right? More realistic than the effect of half of humanity disappearing and reappearing at least

Yeah, I think the lady cop is dead in her original persona, as are... well, everyone else a butterfly infests.

This is definitely my current favorite show on. Cena is terrific in the role.

Anyone else notice the word of the day in the kids classroom was "Moistly"?

I don't know why that bothered me, but all the violent deaths, nudity, vulgar language and I couldn't stop looking at that word on the chalkboard and how the teacher would explain that to the kids or have them use examples throughout the day. My sister hated the word moist, so I inherited her irrational dislike.

Just started this and need to get caught up. John Cena is remarkably good in most roles he plays, so I am super glad for him and hope the success continues.

However, I am not sure I needed 5 minutes of him dancing in his underwear in the first episode... fer gad's sake...

I just read that the actor playing Economos reluctantly had to dye his beard for his role in Suicide Squad and now they make fun of him in the series every chance they get. Quite the powermove/troll from Gunn.

Moist is a great word. It's borderline onomatapoeia, like the sound of squishing a wet sponge.

I have to say that after the sad sack of disappointment that was Book of Boba Fett, Peacemaker is fething fantastic. If I hadn't been blow away by Arcane late last year, I'd probably be singing its praises in a much longer post.

I hope the apparent success of this show emboldens DC or whoever calls the shots (WB?)to get their act together. HBO as a platform allows them to show and do things that MCU/Disney just can’t/won’t.

James Gunn stuff gets really repetitive, really quickly, in a bad way.

Coating all the Super Hero stuff with sarcasm and gore doesn't make it appealing at all.

What gore? GotG has none because it's Disney and I don't recall significant gore in The Suicide Squad or Peacemaker. If there is any, it's a far cry from like...The Thing.

It might not be gory by horror standards, but the DC superhero stuff has generally been gorier than the MCU and Suicide Squad and Peacemaker even moreso.

Though I don't see how that's 'repetitive' on Gunn's part. His other superhero stuff isn't all that gory and sarcasm isn't even close to the right word for his brand of humor.

Honestly, that description sounds like Zack Snyder, not James Gunn. About the only thing that's maybe getting repetitive for Gunn is his love affair with rock hits from other decades that are now somewhat obscure or lesser-known.

Pretty good finale. I like that it was written such that it could be a stand-alone series but I also wouldn't mind another season with a new story.

I’m pretty sure they Showed Goff coming out of the cop lady. I mean that’s definitely Goff there with him at the end. My one complaint would be you’ve got Flash and Superman there and he didn’t hand Harcourt to one of them and say this woman needs an emergency room Now. He doesn’t need to like them to want her saved expediently. (Also which one do you think carried Aquaman there?)

Supes is comparably as fast as him, and Wonder Woman can fly as well and does move at a fairly brisk pace herself when she chooses.
